the seriea is a bunch of plot points / moments with limited story telling to connect them together
1 example - Teela was an after thought in og series
so if instead more supportive story was built in ep1 and it ended with He-man death -
move throne room scene to ep2 followed by time jump / flashback
So Teela's anger (Sarah MG's performance) would have had a stronger base and would have sounded righteous instead of shrill
I disagree... There might be a slow burn or extensive world building - a la Voltron, Avatar, Dragon Prince
-but the quality of storytelling is still apparent
I'm not comparing the below to Masters just giving examples of shows that displayed their excellence and establish trust in ep1 and are soaring by ep5

so understand how tricky it is to work with Mattel
who is trying to SATISFY that specific audience
who SPEND SERIOUS MONEY

and also MATTEL doesn't want to annihilate ANYONE
especially NEW FANS or WOMEN/ MOTHERS etc

The OG he-man was for preteens.....
They say it’s supposed to be in the style of Trollhunters and if that’s the case I’m all for it.
He-ro was actually going to be a thing. Mattel had a toy line based on preternia and the battle between snake mountain a d greyskull . be-ro was a planned action figure and he was going to be tied in with zodac some how. I remember this kid in my. Neighborhood had the whole masters of the universe collection including the eternia playset. It looked just like preternia with the towers and the railway system. I had greyskull but man i wanted eternia so bad.
Watched it last night. Was aiight. Certain parts were corny cuz they didn't show any gore. Didn't realize Grey Skull was a black dude. Occasionally I'd say to myself "They could've done this for Thunder Cats".

This will be interesting..... when the trailer for the other show drops... I guess I’ll have to do another thread.
I finished watching & it was just ok! The writing was dull and had too many one liners. I remember the old show had them but it was overused. I'm not mad at Teela having a story arc but I came to see He-Man NOT her. I figure He-Man will have more of a story for the rest of the episodes (5 -10) but this isn't what I signed up for! The writers should have explicitly said or shown that Teela is gay. Having her put her arm around Andra was lazy.
