Official 2025 NFL Discussion preseason edition!!!

Listen... this is the first time in my entire life that I'm actually building real expectations for the future of this franchise. I feel like our GM has pretty much executed a flawless plan since he's taken over. I really don't have anything that I dislike at this point.

Not to be the bearer of bad news
But.....honestly I don't think Jared Goff is "the guy"
I've seen a lot of him in the NFC West

If he has good O-line protection, he looks good
But.....if he gets pressure, he looks noticeably bad
Like Kirk Cousins type of bad mistakes
Especially if the defense gives him a different look, after the snap
Sean McVay & his system seemed to help him out a lot

I'm surprised Detroit didn't take a closer look at Justin Fields
Let Goff be the bridge QB for 1-2 years
Then let Fields start & light it up :dunno:
But on the flip side, Penei Sewell was the best player available

We could give a fuck about jared goff.

This team sucks thanks to quintricia and we are finally building it right. we gon suck the next two years with young pieces and goff can help with that sucking while the young guys come along. We just restructured his contract so that while we have to keep him for the next 2 years it will be easy to cut him the third.

Next 2 drafts we will have our sucking 1st round picks and the rams first...quiet as kept I dont think they will be as good as they hope with stafford :smh:

Going against 9ers, cards and hawks twice a year :itsawrap:

You can't pass on Sewell. This guy has HOF potential at the tackle position and completes our line. He's a rare prospect. We have two first round picks next year and two in 2023. We'll have a chance to grab a good QB.

Or maybe even plan B:
Instead of gambling on a rookie QB
Next year try to get Deshaun Watson?
Two 1st round picks might get the trade done
Then Detroit can use the rest of the draft on defense?

They didn't need a QB. They did the right thing

They say “Any Given Sunday” for a reason as the NFL is one of the hardest to predict sports, and yet every year, millions bet on who they think will win the Super Bowl prior to the season.

After reading this, you may want to put your money on the Chargers.

Reddit user /u/SleepingJiant figured out that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished their 2019 campaign at 7-9, then drafted an offensive tackle with the 13th overall pick, and a DB named after his former All-Pro father in the second round, then proceeded to win the Super Bowl in their home stadium the next season.

The LA Chargers fished last season 7-9, then drafted an offensive tackle (Rashawn Slater) with the 13th overall pick, and a DB named after his former All-Pro father (Asante Samuel Jr.) in the second round. The location of Super Bowl 56? SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Now this could have theoretically happened with another team, but with Justin Herbert having a rookie season for the ages and pieces being put around him to make him even more successful, the Super Bowl is by no means out of the question for the Chargers.

After it was over, the big man had this to say:

“I’m just happy to be here, excited to have the opportunity, thank God for the opportunity to run against world-class athletes like this,” Metcalf said. “Just to test my speed against world-class athletes like this. . . . They do this for a living. This is very different from football speed.”

Ato Boldon, the former Olympic sprinter who was calling the race for NBC Sports, was impressed with Metcalf’s performance.

“This should encourage every fast NFL guy,” Boldon said. “Tyreek Hill, are you listening? This should encourage every fast NFL guy that the Olympic trials are not that far away.”

In 2019, it took a qualifying time of 10.26 seconds or better to earn a place at USA Nationals.

To automatically qualify for the Olympic Trials, Metcalf would have needed to run 10.05 seconds or faster.
