WandaVision | Official Thread | Marvel / Disney+

But to give the mouse credit, no one at DC has the vision to go so outside of the box with a show for ancillary characters.....

This show is layered and still after 5 episodes mfkrs are still wondering who is the "villain?" What is really going on?

If DC did this shit it would've got crucified IMO. Especially having fans wait 4 episodes. Marvel can afford to go this route because they can do no wrong and they can take caches. DC doesn't have that same luxury. They are trying to gain credibility back. To Marvel's credit....they built this universe to where they could take chances like this.

No let’s keep giving them shit..... until they put out a decent movie. If they can’t then push your Animation to the front. Last decent movie was Wonder Woman the first and that was 6.5/10.
The two most popular comic characters ever are Superman and Batman. You have them both and can’t make good movie?

So we not counting Joker as a DC film?

Ok lets stop giving DC shit. The MOVIE DC staff can't write for shit. Animation and TV can do a universe just fine. That's just strange as hell.

To me its the same reason why Disney can do this. Disney would never do no Wandavision shit as no movie. Same with DC...they'd never translate a animated movie to the big screen....why? I have no fucking idea. The movies write themselves when you follow the animated films. They get caught up in all the politics of it like the merchandising and all that other bullshit that makes them money.

Nah. Flash sucks. First season on batwoman sucks. Glad Arrow is done. Black Lightning is cool, but done after this season. Stargirl is great. Legends is.....

Titans and Doom Patrol are good. Missed a good opportunity with Swamp Thing. Let's see what they do with the rest of the HBO Max lineup.

I think they were doing some good stuff with the OG programming like Titans and Doom. I personally hate the CW shit they do...I liked Legends initially then just got bored of it. BL is cool. But I think BL is cool because its telling a more original story. That other shit is just retread bullshit from Smallville, Arrow, Flash, Super Woman......just not a fan personally.

Yes and no. DC's shared universe movies are hit or miss. Their shared universe tv series and animated movies are much better. Joker was just a one off

It was still released by them though. And is it REALLY a shared universe now? Wonder Woman surely wasn't it was in the mid 80's.....Shazam wasn't. Joker wasn't. I don't know what they've publicly said about their universe that they tried to create but based on them releasing that Snyder cut....that new Batman....I don't think they are interested in a universe. We know Suicide Squad is going to also pretty much be a standalone flick.

DC is doing well when they say fuck that universe shit.

But that shit is so damn backwards. Every character under one roof and they can't make a universe. I guess Marvel learning to hustle with the B and C level folks was a blessing.

Lets not act like Joker wasn't a B- movie amongst a catalog of D- films

4 episodes in is why Marvel has been profitable with almost 20 years worth of movies. They have taken a slow burn, while DC has struggled to keep directors, actors and writers. They just don't manage well. Instead of letting a director direct, they come in replace a director and oh who is popular right now? Joss Wheadon? He worked for our competition and can possibly disrupt the flow of the movie? LET'S DO IT!! Ben Affleck took the role seriously and wants to write a Batman movie of his own... NAH!!! Lets bring in someone that will flake ON the job. The kids nowadays like Twilight right? What is Robert Pattison doing?

You can't say these series have been ran very well.

How is it NOT a universe, but they had Justice League?!?! Justice League has Batman, Batman fights Joker... Kind of a backwards way to introduce their Multiverse.

Wonder Woman & Shazam were still part of the shared universe. Wonder Woman kept references to the other DCEU movies. The WW84 was a followup to that so additional references weren't necessary though the writing was just abysmal. Shazam used a post credit scene to tie it in to the DCEU's Superman as well. You don't need long cameos to tie in to the other movies. Marvel did the same in their 1st round of movies to help setup other characters and the story. It's just that they did it correctly while DC was still trying to figure out what it wanted to do.

The new Batman is supposed to take place in an alternate universe and DC is well known for having multiverses. Who knows what to expect from the new Suicide Squad. IMO DC/WB just needs to hurry up and release the Flashpoint movie so they can reboot everything, try to get it right the next go round and hope we're still interested.

one thing that Marvel had that DC, Sony & Fox didnt have is Kevin Feige.
He has basically been the archeit of the marvel cinematic universe and has given it one cohesive voice. Every movie (and now show) has a builds to the next property and built on the previous property. They took their time and let shit cook. DC biggest mistake was having too many cooks in the chicken and trying to artifically create an shared in universe too quickly.

the worst example and final straw imo was Batman vs Superman. In one movie they introduced Batman, WW, Lex Luther, Doomsday, aluded to the Justice League and killed Superman....they did all that shit in one movie. if you gonna do all that in one movie you better stick the fucking landing which they didnt.

DC has done a much better job with their standalone films because they arent tied to the bullshit that proceeded and can points of views different from Synder's dark and humorless vision.

Originally I thought the show was trash and a Cracka show. I went back and started watching it again and once episode 3 hit, the show was amazing.

I think the biggest issue with the show initially was that it was a weekly release. If this was released at once, I think many people like myself would not have felt sour about the show.

When you release weekly and the first two episodes are about nothing really it can give you the impression the rest of the season would be like that.

I am happy I was wrong

After watching the latest episode, I'm thinking a few things:

1) Wanda has been "pushed" to do everything she is doing to have a perfect life & avoid the reality of her situation (dead Vision, looked at as a criminal, etc). I think that Wanda knows exactly who it is that's pushing her & that person showed her how to really use her powers.

2) I think she, being pushed, stole the Vision & went to Westview to recreate the Vision using her regular powers. Doing this under all that stress & grief pushed her powers to the point of warping reality around her in a hexagonal shape that surrounded the town (the "hex" that Darcy speaks on). Previously, her mindwarps was only effective locally.

3) I think we have misunderstood Wanda's powers all this time. She isn't just a high powered telekinetic/telepath, she's also a reality warper (yes, I know that's what she is in the comic but it was never referenced in the movies). Notice that when she "mindwarps", the warps seems to be in a hexagonal shape. In Age of Ultron, all of the "mindwarps" were in areas the shape of a hexagon. Thor's party, Black Widow's ballerina room, Cap's ballroom, all hexagonal shapes. Also note that they were also premonitions of MCU events...MCU events that the Avengers lost....or better yet, one of MANY futures....kinda like what Dr. Strange saw when he viewed all of those realities...

4) Finally, I think Wanda just expanded her hex power in that last episode. Notice after she "enhanced" the hex (turning it reddish), Darcy comments on Sony movie Quicksilver showing up by saying "She recast Pietro?". Why would she say that? Because Wanda extended the field to include the SWORD base as part of the Wandavision show. That way, she controls them as well. Her mindwarps work on anything in her field.

5) Agnes is someone that can resist Wanda's power, but is playing along for some reason. I think that Agnes isn't the villain. I do think she is the one that pushed Wanda to this point & didn't realize exactly what she actually has done until now. The fact that the children are "real" & having the knowledge that Wanda can "create life" was the trigger that made Agnes realize that Wanda has gone too far. I think that Wanda is the villain & has always been the villain of this show. I think that Wanda's power is destabilizing other realities & causing chaos outside of the hex area. That's why Mysterio was around to stop those creatures from other realities & why the next Dr. Strange movie is going to deal with this...because Wanda probably let Dormammu or some other mystic threat in unwittingly.

No man, Mysterio made all of that up. He's just a disgruntled former Stark employee who had access to the drone tech.

i think it's the other way around, someone (Probably Hayward) stole Vision to try and take him a part and study him, probably trying to create something similar. Wanda found out and stole him back. I think Hayward is a villain, what a coincidence that some of the letters in his name spell "Hydra". I don't think Wanda is in full control, because someone made Pietro (who i think is a skrull) show up. I don't think it's the same Quicksilver from the X-Men, and if it's not, they really gonna have to explain why it was him that appeared and not the other. I do hope we get mutants/x-men but let's think about this: Falcon & Winter Soldier, Loki, She-Hulk (rumor has it that Juggernaut is in this), Moon Knight, etc. are also coming. Will we see x-men or the effects of them being in this universe , show up in those shows? We know there will be some multi-verse stuff when Dr. Strange 2 comes out and then you got Ant-Man with Kang, so there are multiple ways to open up other universes.

The Joker completely fell apart in the last act. Like everyone just gave up and rushed it home. It was dumb and weird.

I got idiots telling me that the Joker is Batman's brother!

Most of the movie was supposed to be a figment of his imagination but people didn't get it cause the movie makers didn't commit to it.

Lets not act like Joker wasn't a B- movie amongst a catalog of D- films

Justice League was the past. I'm not saying they didn't try because they did. But they tried and it failed. They tried to do what Marvel did in a much shorter time with not the same direction. Shit failed. These new movies.....Joker, Shazam, WW.....I mean you can say they are tied in somewhat but they really aren't. They pay homage to the films before them but that's not what I'd call a universe. To me that's like saying Steel is in the DC universe because it mentions Superman.

You right man....I think ultimately that was DC's biggest issue. They didn't have the luxury to experiment because they had A List characters with big budgets behind it. They were too obvious to try and experiment with lesser known characters.....

I mean a B- is a good movie lol. Better than average. Let's also not act like Marvel isn't full of C+ and B- movies as well.

I don't like how DC has ran their film division....but man....they look like they got it right with this new Batman with Pattison. Its not gonna win over the CG/action crowd but its taking Batman back to his essence with his detective skills.

You right though....DC tried to rush this universe shit and it was never gonna work. Instead of being like Marvel they should've did their own thing. At least have a identity of some sort.

C+ movies? List them?

Captain Marvel
Iron Man 3
Ant Man 2

Listen, every DCU movie is C- or D.

DCU cannot be defended. Their universe is a mess and indefensible.

Dc did this with the watchmen series remember? Remember hkw that show had every body talking and trying to figure out what's going on just luke this shiw is doing?

And Captain Marvel/Ant Man 2 was didn't need to be a Winter Soilder, they were just connective tissue movies

It wasn't gonna work cause they keep going to the drawing board.

Dawg it would be one thing if this was the jump off to a whole universe, they have had a slew of movies before this and THIS is the best one.

This new Batman is DOOMED! I take it you haven't been listening on how filming is going. They are already pointing fingers at each other:

.

No man, Mysterio made all of that up. He's just a disgruntled former Stark employee who had access to the drone tech.

You're right. I should have phrased it better.

Mysterio's reasoning would have been a better way of saying what I wanted to say.

I think the biggest question would be...why would they take Vision apart?

For all intents & purposes, he was considered a being, a living creature. Not to mention that he was part of a team that wouldn't let something like that go down. Not to mention how unnecessary it would be, being that Shiri basically made a blueprint of Vision in Wakanda.

Then again, they had 5 years pass while the Avengers dealt with the ramifications of the Blip...so maybe they did that during that time. And I can easily see Wakanda go back to dolo status after the Blip.

I think Hayward is a red herring & something to give the audience to focus on while the story builds its climax to finding out Wanda has lost complete control & broke the movie universe's reality....but we'll just have to wait & see on that one, I guess.

I do, however, think that Wanda is losing control the more she lets go of her grief. I think the commercials are her way of processing her grief in the context of the show; part of the WandaVision experience but separate, almost its own thing from the main show.

See below.
First Wonder Woman? - Sucked. Copy of Captain America and a dumb villain. Did the slow motion shots make you some how think the movie was good?

BvS: Ultimate Cut? - Martha? That is what gets Batman to stop killing Superman? Batman actually wanting to kill Superman. Weird Lex Luthor? Crowbarred in WW and Doomsday. Emails to introduce new heroes? Fucking dumb ass movie. You like slow motion? Smh. Also Ultimate Cut isn't the shit shown in theaters so that don't fucking count and even if it did. It didn't save the movie.

Man of Steel? - Boring. Who wrote that shit. Superman literally watched his father die? That was enough to walk out of the theater. His father could have died from a heart attack!!!! It was insulting how the damn movie made no sense. Superman kills Zod?

FOH

Although I was disappointed in MOS, but a C-? Nah, bro.

Maybe a B-

As someone mentioned in the previous post. The four most recognizable comic book characters are: (in no particular order)

Spiderman, superman,batman, and wonderwoman.

And what I mean by recognizable is that my mom know these characters. And she can give 2 fucks about these comic book movies.

The thing is DC has THREE of them... if would be difficult has hell to create a universe because those DC Characters are so polarizing. They sort of just need their own shit.
