Joe Biden is now POTUS

Sinema and Manchin could just say no comment and leave it be. However, they're fucking Schumer on Mitch's behalf by coming out saying unequivocally they won't support nuking the filibuster.

Mitch is teaching Schumer a lesson. If you can't control your caucus in a razor-sharp Senate split, I'm gonna control you. Mitch is making Schumer his bitch right now. On the important issues, Mitch keeps his caucus in line.
Dems need to go in or Manchin and especially Sinema.. That dumb bitch really think the AZ gop like her? Fuck is her problem? Dems need to go ahead and get shit passed through reconciliation and it should pretty much be fuck Sinema

As I said Schumer can use that power now. What part don't you understand??

Yall's argument is yall's argument. I'm not in yall's argument.

The fact of the matter is that right now, under these Senate rules, Mitch is running the Senate. It doesn't matter what power Schumer has until he wields it. Today, he's continuing to play by Mitch's rule.

Schumer is Majority Leader in name only. He was on tv today bitching about "Mitch doesn't understand that he's not Majority Leader anymore". Dems don't have their caucus in line so Schumer can't threaten killing the filibuster. Mitch isn't worried about that. He also doesn't have any incentive to balk and sign an agreement because he'll be handing over power to Schumer when he doesn't have to. There is no time-limit on this.

He's doing a double fuck job on Schumer right now. He's holding up his legislative agenda and also confirming what the progressive side has said.. that Schumer is weak.

Mitch is schooling Schumer right now because he knows he doesn't have the nuts to be aggressive. He's not to going to take power. He's going to get it when Mitch lets him have it.

He's being neutered publicly.

Those PACs need to start running commercials in those states to apply some pressure.

All while the democratats beg for peace and unity and look like giant pussys to the entire country.

Mitch would have been saying that America voted for the GOP to control the white house, senate, and house. We won't be obstructed by the radical dems. If we don't have an agreement by January 15th, we will nuke the filibuster. And he would have gotten all 50 GOP Senators to support it publicly.

Dems have to start playing hardball with the GOP and then their own team that fucks around like this.

They put more public pressure on fucking Al Franken over some bullshit 20-year-old pics than they are this.

Facts.

This country is trash.

This government is trash

As much as I hate Republicans I respect their game

DemocRATS may be the weakest major political party on the face of the planet

What  :roflmao:
You literally step right in-between our argument/debate and injecting your own perspective.:roflmao3:

why are you lying?
So wait..
You didn't start off by saying that Schumer couldn't use the nuclear option until Mitch relinquish power to Schumer?
Now you're saying well Schumer can't go nuclear because two senators will vote no?
That's a total shift from one position to another. aka moving the goal post.

What  :roflmao:
You literally step right in-between our argument/debate and injecting your own perspective.:roflmao3:
and now he's out.

the point is: they are under the old senate rules. McConnell is in control.

Schumer cant go nuclear until he's in control.

it takes a power sharing agreement to be in control.

McConnell wont sign one.

Chuck cant go nuclear until then.

do you understand this?

I'm making an argument directly to you. You've quoted me multiple times saying"literally, Schumer is Majority Leader".

You keep repeating that over and over again. I'm telling you that it does not matter what he is "in name". He's not taken power yet. You're saying Buk got the details of his argument wrong. I'm not in that argument. You can take that up with him.

You keep getting caught up in the "title" and "hypotheticals".

What I'm saying is that despite all of that, Mitch is still running the Senate TODAY. That's all that matters TODAY.

I'm not giving my own perspective as much as just laying out the facts of the matter. That's the reality.

Your argument is that it doesn't matter because Schumer "can" do a certain thing. Lots of things in life "can" happen. I'm talking about what is HAPPENING today.

Dude you quoted me first. I didn't just come out of nowhere and quote you.
I am not debating whether or not the senate is operating under old senate rules. You're saying Schumer majority title is meaningless. You can have that argument but the bottomline to what I have stated is that Schumer can use the nuclear option to stop Mitches bs. We are talking about two different things and that is because you stepped in with a different argument that I was not arguing.

that argument but the bottomline to what I have stated is that Schumer can use the nuclear option to stop Mitches bs.

He doesn't have the votes! In order to proceed without Mitch, Schumer has to have the votes to. If McConnell doesn't abandon his demand, Schumer would have to eliminate the filibuster in order to take over the committees. Essentially, McConnell is filibustering the transfer of power.

The nuclear option is killing the filibuster. Two Dems said they absolutely won't do it under any circumstance (manchin has seemed to soften a bit).

You're stating the obvious. Once again the bottomline is that the nuclear option, is an option available to the dem majority right now. Not up, and until Mitch "relinquish control".

It is a solution to Mitch's continuous filibuster. We've seen how Mitch operates, and he'll continue as long as he can. If he continues to do so the dems will have no choice but to use it.

I'm stating the obvious because you seem to refuse to accept the obvious: Mitch is running the Senate right now. Which is the point that everyone is making. Your argument boils down to: Well, Mitch really isn't running the Senate because Schumer can do some hypothetical act.

Two Dem senators and one, in particular, said they absolutely aren't doing away with the filibuster. So Schumer doesn't have that at his disposable until he convinces both of them to do it.

And if it takes all of that for Schumer to take over control, Mitch still won. He's forcing his will on Chuck while also burning key legislative time to support Biden's agenda.

Schumer is failing right out of the gate.

No my statement to the statement about dems figuring out a way to stop Mitch bs is that the dems have the power right now to use the nuclear option. You're the one making up arguments that I am not even arguing.

dems have the power right now to use the nuclear option.

Schumer doesn't have that power RIGHT NOW because multiple dems have told him no. He might hypothetically have that in the future, but he doesn't have it now. If he really had it, Mitch would have already signed the agreement because Schumer could really threaten to use it. Do you now understand what is happening?

bruh, who controls what the senate votes on right now?

Schumer doesn't have that power RIGHT NOW because multiple dems have told him no.
Not having the votes, is not the same as not having the option of use. If the dems fall in line, and vote to change the rules. Micth doesn't have to the power to stop the majority. Y

It is right now. That's why I keep telling you that you're focusing on hypotheticals as opposed to right now. Mitch and Schumer are having a power struggle RIGHT NOW because Schumer doesn't have the votes RIGHT NOW.

Manchin can switch parties tomorrow and Mitch would become Majority Leader. Lots of things "can" happen.

So the question is how long does Schumer have? What is it going to take for Manchin and Sineca to say they'll be on board with nuking the filibuster?Politicians blow with the wind but Sineca just said TODAY that there is any circumstance in which she would support nuking the filibuster. That doesn't sound like she's a few days away from changing her mind and Mitch knows that.

I'm not disagreeing with your hypotheticals. I'm saying that Right Now, we don't seem to be close to them.

Not having the votes, is not the same as not having the option of use. If the dems fall in line, and vote to change the rules. Micth doesn't have to the power to stop the majority. Y

So what Schumer needs to do is get Manchin and Sineca to go on the record and say "I'm against the killing the filibuster, however, if Mitch doesn't sign the current powersharing agreement by XX date, I will support nuking it so that the Democrats can govern"

That's basic shit and Schumer is trash if can't at least get them to go on the record with that this week. That's not even unreasonable.

Then he has the power. He doesn't have the nuclear power right now.

You are incorrect, sir. There was never any Republican support for the senate version of the ACA. A guy named Mitchell McConnell ensured its death there, but with the vote of a self described democratic independent by the name of Joe Lieberman it passed. Nothing changed in that bill to woo Republicans.

You are correct that in the end it got no votes from Senate republicans but there were efforts to get them onboard from the very beginning including the eventual elimination of the public option. There is also the fact that the entire thing was modeled on a GOP plan. I hate to post the USA Today but this is a really succinct summary of how things eventually fizzled:

Man, this ditsy bitch JUST got her “Good Enough Degree?”

 Unbelievable. So you’re telling me that a GED is enough to become a member in Congress and vote on decisions that changes people’s lives?

This has the to be the most ass backwards ass shit I have ever heard of.
i dont think you should have to need formal education to be a rep
people from all sorts of life should be allowed

but they def cant have her criminal history

Bruh after this I'm good because it's been a circular argument. Once again the option to use the nuclear option is available to Schumer. He does not need Mitch to do shit before that opttion is available. It is all on the dems to use that power.

Got damn. Even after I try to shift you're still going back to "Schumer has the option". Man, you just like to argue or to have the last word

i dont think you should have to need formal education to be a rep

Do you really believe that?

So a reformed criminal that received a formal education shouldn't be able to serve congress because they have a criminal history, but based on your logic, "people from all sorts of life should be allowed?" That seems sort of contradictory to me.

This lady is an idiot and a racist who is about as one-track-minded as a dog that smelled Bacos.

I'm not even going to knock on the GED because there are plenty of people that do very well (way better than me), but a formal education to serve congress should be considered since they deal with laws. This chick can't think past the 2nd Amendment and she can't even get that right.

Yeah. I don't think there should be some type of degree requirement. You can be smart + highly moral/ethical and not have a degree. She's a straight up criminal though. A repeat offender. That's what makes her unqualified.

He doesn't have that option because Manchin is on the record right now saying that he doesn't support it. Manchin also doesn't support what McConnell wants but there is no way for Schumer to move forward right now without the entirety of the caucus which he doesn't have at the moment.
