After Biden win, Black activists demand reparations for slavery, police reform

Now is the perfect time to start pushing Biden for reparations and police reform.

It’s inevitable that he’s gonna take office on January 20th regardless of Trump and co’s antics. So it makes no sense to wait until then.

WE got him elected. He said in his acceptance speech he wasn’t going to let us down.

When it comes to their ideas of what police reform and criminal justice reform looks like. I agree with BLM.
If you agree with BLM then you are in trouble. Their TOP PRIORITIES are LGBT rights and protections. They are also a Marxist organization that promotes communism, per the words of their own founder.

Based on his history I sincerely doubt that Joe Biden agrees with reparations or police reform. Even if he was there needs to be a general consensus of what it would look like.

When it comes to reparations there isn't a unified plan on who gets it, how much money is involved, or what forms those payments would be made in (checks vs land vs free college vs tax breaks etc).

With police reform at least there's a general agreement that the current system doesn't work. However, nobody can quite agree on what needs to be done about it.

when you're asking a reluctant president to make a change then at the very least you need to know what you're asking for.

its not supposed to work. this is a repeat of how its been done for at least the last 100 years. The black community has never spoken wth one unified voice on what progress and justice for us means and how it should get done.

I agree, but someone on this board said it is a good thing that we have all these different groups. It makes no sense to me how that is effective political engagement.

I specifically said I agreed on what they push regarding police and criminal justice reform. The same ideas and solutions for those things that they have been fighting for since their inception.

Since Obama was the last democrat elected and there were successes for the black community under his tenure just not successes ONLY for black people and trump claimed half of them for his own starting with the increase in black employment. Something many black people refuse to credit Obama for yet Trump tried to ride to a second term. So what EXACTLY are you looking for Biden to do that will mark progress for black people TO YOU??

I also didn't say imma stop performing my civic duties. One election cycle is not going to change anything in the short term. Black people need to present an actionable plan that can actually be implemented. Not just holler give Black people stuff cause we voted.

at the end of the day, Martin Luther king was the face and leader of the movement. King was the one meeting with Presidents to present the agenda and all those organizations were cool with it. That is not the case today and you know it. ADOS goes to meet with the President, FBA is bitching. BLM goes to meet with President we get BLM isn't for really for black folks.

The issue isn't about making reparations go away its about making that particular point a make or break issue to other issues. If all or most of the points of Cubes or Bidens plan happen are you seriously going to tell me you're going to withhold your vote from future elections because reparations didn't happen in the next 4 years? Hell even the dude in the video said its highly unlikely to move forward significantly in our lifetime.

And even if it does happen its not likely to be in the way or form you think it should. At the end of the day it will come down to negotiations and those are never one sided.

But that's the thing...other black organizations weren't cool with it. Black Muslims thought MLK was too soft...SNCC under Stokely Carmicheal was much more raucous and confrontational and had little patience for MLK's nonviolent approach. Those times weren't as harmonious as we would like to remember.
 
White businesses will probably benefit the most from reparations. They say the dollar stay in the black community for less than a day. The only reparations black folk will see will have to come from other black folk. Them devils going to dangle that carrot until horse drop dead.
