Joe Biden is now POTUS

Folks need to quit posting bullshit ass RawStory links as if they're entirely credible.
Yea we need to put an end to that on a serious note. We don't need to share bad or false information in news and current event threads. Nigga is the BGOL fake news man.

@HNIC can we address this?
Rawstory is essentially just a news aggregator/opinion site. All their stories are either a repost of stories from reputable sites, or they list their source links.
Super fake bgol news man

Them weak ass links he be posting

fucka easy b
I have to assume members on this board are capable of determining what they think is or isn't credible. FOX news to me isn't credible, to Trump supporters (which include some blacks) think it is credible.

All I'm saying, is if rawstory doesn't belong, then fox news doesn't belong either.

You're wrong(as usual).

Please do not use Cooning Roland as a reference. He's not impartial. And tells half truths.

here are the undisputable facts
  • the democrats drafted and pasted the House bill without any republican input. Zero. So, they knew this would be a point of contention.
  • Tim Scott a black man, drafted the Senate version, and wanted democratic input.
  • The Senate democrats decided that they were not interested in debating the proposed bill at all. So they blocked it from ever coming to the floor

These are the facts. All the other stuff is opionated BS.

The Dems fucked this up. Just like they did with the stimulus.

Pelosi has this all or nothing attitude which leads to nothing getting done. This idiotic stance hurts black people. She doesn't care because she's a millionaire and it doesn't affect her.

How many Dems did Scott, though a black man, engage in drafting his Senate bill? Was it more than zero or do we not know? Another point is the "all or nothing attitude which leads to nothing getting done" is straight out of the Republican Senate playbook. They don't compromise. Have you forgotten mBitch's pledge to block everything during Barry's terms? Doesn't make it right, but it worked for them. Ask Merrick Garland.

Do you believe losing friends over who they voted for in the 2020 election is petty and childish?

There’s a quote in the movie Enola Holmes:
"Politics doesn’t interest you because you have no interest in changing a world that suits you so well." - Edith

I understand for some people, politics are philosophical partisan squabbles with no real impact on their lives. Of course, why would these people lose friends over something silly? So your friend voted for a different old white dude than you. So one dirty politician replaced another politician, life goes on.
Right?

Well, congratulations on winning the privilege lottery. You’re born with so much privilege that not only politics does not concern you, our current political system is set up to keep people such as yourself in the position of power at the expense of other groups of people.

Like Edith said: you’re uninterested in politics, you think breaking up your personal relationship over something trivial is stupid because the system already works in your favor. It doesn’t matter who wins the election, the system remains. Doesn’t matter how bad things become, you will not be impacted.

And because of your privilege, you can rise above it all and look down at us silly people who get panic attacks just thinking about Trump getting a second term. We silly minorities with our silly triggers.

Right?

You have never felt powerless. I don’t mean the “incel” kind of powerless, that no girl will give you the time of the day because you’re not a Chad.

I meant, truly powerless.

You never know the fear of being stopped by cops, thinking you might not live through it.

You never know the fear of having ICE knock on your door, and drag you to some detention center. And, yes, it doesn’t matter if you’re a citizen or not. Natural born citizens had been detained or even deported by ICE. But you don’t think about it, do you?

You don’t even know about this. Because ICE will never come after you. And it has nothing to do with citizenship.

You never know the fear of being fired for who you are (not what you do).

You never know the fear of getting pregnant but denied your bodily autonomy.

For the past four years, many of us, women, minorities, LGBTQ people lived in fear. But it doesn’t impact you. And you just don’t have the compassion to feel for other people’s pain.

When people vote for Trump, some of them voted for him because they like his personality; some of them voted for him because they believe Trump is good for the economy (whatever the hell that means).

But it doesn’t matter. Their reason doesn’t. matter. They voted for a guy who repeatedly downplayed a deadly virus, repeatedly spread misinformation, they vote for a racist, a sexist, and general despicable person.

They don’t get to choose which aspect of him they support. They vote for him wholesale.

So no… I can’t be friends with people who supported Trump, doesn’t matter what reason.

I don’t have that privilege.

Oh ok. Yeah, I know what you mean now. Lol.

A big ass county what a lot of NOTHING. A lot of farms and swampland.

It's a democratic county, but only has a population of about 20k.

Yeah I'm from a county over...eastern NC is the armpit of NC. You still have a shitload of old sharecropper houses just sitting there....when I was growing up in the late 80s 90s, they had the Klan in a parade in the "white folks" part of the area, and nobody batted an eye...I knew then I had to leave and never come back to live.

He tried tho. That's the point. And the Dems didn't even want to try and talk. He drafted the bill. He didn't get it passed. It was a draft to begin the conversation. The Dems said f a conversation. So now nothing happened. The Dems drafted and passed their bill with zero input or conversation from the republicans. This is BS.

This partisan won't work. Bills will never get passed this way. The police reform bill and the Stimulus bill are perfect examples of this.

Yep, all of those parts are very rural—lots of small towns.

The Klan had parades in Randolph County as well. In Davidson County is was even more prevalent.

NC is just rural as fuck when you get outside of the cities. But Eastern and Western NC are just different as hell.

I feel more comfortable in Eastern versus Western NC. lol

My grandfather is from there, and he said he'd never go back to those hills and hollers, cause all kinds of negros just disappeared from there. This was back in the 30's though.

However the election ends, white supremacy has already won
America has shown a fidelity to white supremacy we can't dismiss, regardless of the election's final outcome

As of the time of this writing, the outcome of the 2020 presidential election remains undecided. Joe Biden leads Donald Trump 238–213, per the Associated Press reports, in the Electoral College. The key battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia will not finish counting all of the ballots until perhaps as late as Friday of this week. Pennsylvania make take even longer. The Biden campaign remains optimistic that these outstanding ballots will be sufficient to secure victory.
Because he is a neo fascist American authoritarian, Donald Trump preemptively and falsely announced on Tuesday night that he won, and any ballots not yet counted in states where he is currently losing should be disqualified. Trump also said that he would go to the United States Supreme Court to stop votes from being counted past Election Day.

Republican attorneys and other right-wing experts on committing vote-rigging, voter suppression and electoral fraud will now take the next step in their plot to keep Donald Trump in power.

00:00/32:26

The 2020 presidential election will possibly be decided by the Supreme Court where Donald Trump's handpicked justices will follow through on their quid pro quo bargain and give him the presidency, contrary to the will of the American people.
Advertisement:

What is actually known with great certainty about the 2020 presidential election is that white supremacy and racism have been reaffirmed and not repudiated.
Despite hundreds of thousands of people dead in the United States from the coronavirus and Trump's sabotage of the relief efforts, along with his cruelty, violence, tens of thousands of lies, treasonous behavior and destruction of the country's economy; despite the many thousands of brown and Black migrants and refugees held in his concentration camps and other detention centers; despite his vast corruption, lawbreaking, racism, white supremacy, and nativism; despite his destruction of America's and the world's environment, thereby imperiling the survival of the human race; despite being credibly accused of rape and sexual assault by dozens of women; and despite his ignorance, stupidity and overall evil, Donald Trump remains remarkably popular in the United States.
Moreover, Donald Trump has the highest base level of support in the history of modern polling in the United States. His political cult members and other followers love Donald Trump precisely because of how horrible he is and not despite it. It is a form of political sadism. Trumpism and America's current version of right-wing politics is a form of political religion binds its followers to the Great Leader and the movement in a deeply existential way.

More people have voted for Donald Trump so far than did in 2016.
What is also known about Donald Trump, the 2020 presidential campaign, and the results so far is that Trump's enduring popularity and love from his followers can largely be explained as a function of white racism and white supremacy; "racial resentment"; "ethnic antagonism"; social dominance behavior; malignant reality; pathocracy; collective narcissism, existential white racial "anxiety"; the dark triad of sociopathic and psychopathic behavior; white identity politics; and racial authoritarianism, more generally.

How are the pundits and other members of the chattering class and mainstream American news media responding to Donald Trump being so close to victory over Joe Biden in a presidential race where the conventional wisdom predicted a crushing defeat for Trump?
There is shock and awe that the voting and prediction models, were again, as in 2016, so inaccurate.
There is also visible upset and pain that the consensus and traditional wisdom among the so-called "professional" politics watchers is shown again to be inadequate for deciphering events in the Age of Trump. In essence, the mainstream commentariat and political class are experiencing (or should) a legitimacy crisis.
Advertisement:

But the most common thread in the reactions online and elsewhere by the mainstream news media to Donald Trump being so close to securing a second presidential term is "shock" and "surprise" at the power of racism, cruelty and intolerance in America.
In that chorus of voices, there are even the "hope peddlers" who are so bold as to actually be praising America's "democratic spirit" because of record turn out as opposed to condemning how so many tens of millions of white Americans so enthusiastically voted for more white supremacy, social inequality and injustice.
So many members of the chattering class and commentariat have a deep and fundamental (and naïve) belief in the inherent goodness of America (White Americans in particular), that to admit such assumptions are incorrect is almost impossible for them. Why? It would cause too much emotional, psychological, intellectual and financial pain.
Advertisement:

Most among them are also at a profound disadvantage in their analysis of Trumpism because most of them have refused to accurately describe Donald Trump as being a "fascist" and an "authoritarian" or to summon the moral language of "evil."
As such, those voices now have little if any credibility when or if they try to do so now.
Historian Timothy Snyder, author of the bestselling book "On Tyranny," recently explained to Salon:

In all, to clearly state that Donald Trump, his Republican Party and movement are committed to keeping America a type of "white space" is verboten for most members of the Fourth Estate.
Advertisement:

Contrary to what many liberals and progressives would like to assert, Trump's white "working class" voters are not irrational. Instead, Trump's "white working class" voters have made a different calculation about what is most important to them. Here, Whiteness and the psychological wages which come from it (especially the entitlement and privilege to cause nonwhite people pain and suffering without consequences) are more important for Trump's white voters than their health, income or even lives.
As the United States and the world await the final results of the 2020 presidential election, what are some key lessons that the American news media should learn from how many tens of millions of White Americans have pledged again, as they did in 2016, their loyalty to Whiteness and white supremacy in the form of Trumpism?
Race and the color line are central to American society and life, not peripheral to it. To ignore the color line is to ignore reality. In the end, reality almost always wins.
Any discussion of politics in America which does not seriously consider the context of race and the color line is a priori inadequate and imprecise, if not irresponsible and a public disservice.
Advertisement:

America's news organizations should include more nonwhite people, especially those who are trained in the social sciences and humanities. By doing so, America's news organizations will be better equipped to understand the realities and implications of race and the color line in this society and around the world.
At present, the white racial frame and how it blinds too many members of the Fourth Estate and political class more broadly to the truth is an extreme liability, one that undermines the overall credibility of the country's news media.
The American news media should also include more true expert voices on questions of American politics, society, race and related topics, instead of the generalists who dominate the 24/7 cable news.
As the United States moves forward from Election Day 2020 to whatever may happen next, those members of the commentariat who are in shock, awe, denial, confusion pain, and experiencing other such emotions about Donald Trump's electoral success — whether or not he succeeds in his legal maneuvers — should accept the realities of the color line and race in America, and then do better in their work as supposed "guardians of democracy."
This is one of the most shocking and sobering pieces I've ever read.

After many years of dissection and analysis of racists and their behavior, I NEVER understood that they harm Black people as a method of self realization. I thought they did it only because they're evil, animalistic savages. That they may be, but its also their method of self IDENTITY.

Harming, killing and suppressing Black people (and perhaps nature itself) is how they differentiate themselves from other creatures.

I'm starting to believe that they (racists, not white people) are bred specifically for literal Satanic use.

Remember that long thread where we were debating how white people weren't voting against their self-interests... and I kept saying that they weren't because white supremacy is their interest. I think you're starting to see what I was saying... but I didn't even fully get it then... it's hard to understand that shit man.... but that part you just said actually makes me understand it even more... it's "self-realization"

@fonzerrillii
Republicans have literally nothing to offer to modern human beings. Unless you’re a scion of old wealth that is. These “both sides” takes are incredibly retarded, even WITH the obvious failures and weaknesses of Dems. FOH with the false equivalences.

Really??

So, please explain to me in logical terms why the democrats refused to meet and debate the crime and police reform bill Tim Scott proposed?? They didn't even look at it. If they were so concerned with black folks and really wanted to see change they would have met with Scott and hashed it out. Instead, Pelosi said no and Democrats blocked the effort from reaching the floor for debate. Due to Senate rules, 60 votes are needed to advance the bill.

Both sides do dumb shit. And this is an example of Dems doing dumb ass shit that only hurts black folk.

You can’t quote posts for shit

Goddamn do they make y’all in a factory? Time is a flat circle on this bitch. The thing that trips me out is that I can see you’re so proud of these mayo missives and tapioca takes. Shit is hilarious to me man.

I made a clear statement... Republicans have literally nothing to offer modern human beings (who aren’t scions to some kind of Rockefeller or Walton wealth). Your rejoinder was... Tim Scott’s Justice Act? Do you know the specifics of that plan? No end to qualified immunity? “Incentivizing” podunk police depts with the penalty of restricted Fed funds (do you know how much of a typical city’s funds are allocated towards police?). Do you understand why Dems voted against it? Lol stick to your investments thread man, you’re embarrassingly out of your depth on politics and history. Saw a black face on a retarded plan and clapped like a damn seal smh.

Context matters. Pretending that Republicans are capable of progressive plans that move society forward runs afoul of history and common sense. The only “both sides” narrative that holds water is one that recognizes that both parties are beholden to the same corporate interests to varying extents (especially since the amazingly flawed Citizens United ruling) and there are intelligent, nuanced critiques to be had here but you and your ilk aren’t capable of making them.

Yea we need to put an end to that on a serious note. We don't need to share bad or false information in news and current event threads. Nigga is the BGOL fake news man.

Niggas is posting Ian Miles Cheong and Andy Ngo regularly in this bitch among other verified nazi fucks. Let these dudes post they trash RawStory and Palmer (“we got him now!!!”) links... shit is harmless in comparison

Mitch just keeps going

Luckily she’s one of like 12 members so she can’t flex and implement a gold standard on Monday like she’s a Fed Chair with tons of support. Amazing that they placed this piece of shit in a Fed role role even after being rejected by Senate + scores of top economists and previous Fed Chairs who opposed her nomination earlier. Hope Dems can grow some balls like these stupid fucking assholes and deliver soon.

Looky here mayne...we aint gonna agree on that.

Anything you do that harms you IS NOT in your self interest.

Racists racing IS NOT in they self interest.

Its like watching lemmings run off a cliff. Wilful self destruction IS NOT in your self interest, it is the epitome of the LACK of self interest and awareness.

How can you display self interest when your behavior is suicidal?

Psychologically the two are the opposites on the SPECTRUM.

Yo.. that last CAC... I bet his Mom and Dad are also his Aunt and Uncle :smh:
Man its amazing how well whites continue to hide their majority inbred, low IQ, neanderthal, low functioning animal- like masses from public view so well. There are more uncivilized, barely house broken whites like this in this country than are not. But if you watched television or mainstream outlets, you would think they were all a baseline Bryan Cranston type.

One major conclusion I came to from working and living among conservative white men is their very masculinity is threaten by being around black men.
