Anyone getting a new TV for the PS5/XBX?

I was planning to buy one of those new TCL TVs that are specialized for gaming, but they don’t have the HDMI 2.1 slots. Apparently that’s what you need to really experience the graphics with these new systems

I’m trying to get a 65 inch. Anyone else in the market for a TV? Any suggestions? :please:

Got a LG OLED 65 AND 77 from Bestbuy. Have them hooked up to the PS4 Pro and X Box One X. Picture is sharp on those with the upgraded HDMI cable on 2.1. Probably going to be giving TV's away on Black Friday. Hoping to price match if these two drop. Crazy thing about the tv, I thought I had my surround sound system on low when we turned it up to 10.

I was looking for a Samsung either 75 inch or 82 inch.

Any of you guys know where I can find some Black Friday deals? I got the money but I don't want to purchase one before then and miss out

I've currently got an 75 in, but it has burn marks in it and they're pissing me off so I need to get a new one

Whatever you do get an updated HDMI cable. I bought me the Q90T and couldn't hear shyt with the HDMI cables for my Sound system until I got ....................... HDMI Cable

Monoprice has similar/ better cables for cheaper

Anything HDMI related, I check there....not just 1st, but period.

Hope you're prepared to spend at least $1500.

There probably are some that can be found for under that price, but their HDR performance won't be nearly as good as the more expensive ones.
And refresh rate...
HDMI 2.1 cables are rated at 48gbps. Do not get a cable that says 18gbps.

All of these. And get a recent, higher-end model. You will pay more but if you have content you want to play from any outboard drives via USB, the cheaper models won't support certain file extensions and some won't even support 1080.

So, if you see two Samsungs 75" one for 1000 and one for 1600, go for the 1600.

I have heard that those TCLs are actually very good for gaming and have some of the 2.1 features but not full features. At any rate, Sony 900H has a 2.1 slot that you need to activate with a firmware update that is now available. There are one or two 2.1 features missing but these will be updated down the line and you cannot game at 4k 120hz in dolby vision on the set. I am a Sony guy and this would be my pick if budget is a concern.

If you can stretch your budget, Vizio OLED can be got for $900 for the 55 inch and $1500 for the 65 inch if you are a Best Buy member. They have 2.1 but with a few bugs but that is a great deal for OLED. LG has a ton of TVs with HDMI 2.1 (remember that LG's non OLED TVs are IPS panel LED which means lower contrast and optimized for wide angle viewing but generally considered inferior for picture quality). LGs OLEDs are the kings of HDMI 2.1. Samsung has a few as well, starting with Q70T.

Some have suggested there is no need to update your TV now as HDMI 2.1 will be more widely and more competently implemented over time. Nothing wrong with getting it now though.

What's the difference and reasons I should pay $300 more

The number one reason IMO to get a 4k TV is for HDR. The cheaper the TV, the worse the HDR performance.

Those models are for someone who wants a big TV but doesn't want to spend a ton of money on them or they just want to watch cable TV.

Check out the reviews (the first review isn't the exact model but it's close enough):

Because of what I already said.

In the case of the ads you posted, obviously one is bigger. Also, the 8000 series is Samsung's top of the line or close.

For instance, I have an 8000 series and I regularly play content from a USB without any problems. My sister and bil went cheap against my advice and now, when they want extracurricular content, I can find and d/l no problem. Stick it on a portable HD easy. Does their TV play it? Nope. 3 out of 4 extensions, or more accurately shells, aren't decoded by their TV because they decided to save a few bucks. Now we're talking about a dozen movies and even more series, some of which have 10, 15, 20 seasons. All that content and they're ass out because I ain't converting all that shit.
Now, maybe this scenario doesn't apply to you but I'd still urge the 8000 series or higher.

And I damn sure wouldn't buy it from Wally's world.

A TV that's specialized for gaming.... yet doesn't have HDMI 2.1 slots. ???????
The comedy...... that's like having a car.... that's specialized for racing.... but it's equipped with an engine from a Pontiac Fiero
