I think Obama would make a good Attorney General, or a good secretary of state. But giving Obama such a prominent cabinet position may further estrange half the country that supported Trump. Should Biden give Obama an appointment anyway?

No it’s disrespectful in a lot of ways. Obama is good being retired for the rest of his life. He did his job and is retired.

I kinda doubt he'd want to, and I think Michelle wouldn't want him to. The money he can make giving speeches is probably much larger than any cabinet position pays too. He can freelance when he's needed like the Bushes and Clinton and Carter have... represent the USA here and there...

Doubtful. I mean nobody except him knows for sure, but going by what every ex-pres in my lifetime has done, that job takes so much out of you, after you do your bid, especially two terms, you don't really want to go back in full time. ...and Obama seems to be having the time of his life and is still young. If he did want in, I would hope it would be SCOTUS one day.
Barack it's an elder statesman of the country and should not take in any formal position- strictly advisory. Let that man live his life and do what he wants, when he feels like it.
When you think about it. That position really isn't that great either. You go from being the head of the federal government (executive branch). To being one of nine (judicial branch).
Now if a spot on the Supreme Court were to open up for Chief Justice. That might be attractive but I think Obama just wants to enjoy life. He's been to the mountain top.

Biden wouldn't do it because it would automatically undermine the authority and presence of his presidency to have a popular former president in his cabinet.
Its the reason why Obama didn't have Hillary as his vice president....do you know how having a Clinton (in this case the popular wife with presidential aspirations of a popular former president) that close to oval office would have disrupted and undermined his authority??

Yet he did give Hillary a cabinet position. Infact he gave her one of the highest (if not thr highest) cabinet position(Sectary of State).
true its not a perfect fit example but initially it was floated that he should make her vice president. He did not want her physically that close to the oval office. But ultimately Hillary wasn't a former president and Sec of State is mostly out of the country. Also Obama being a former president is just too distracting in any capacity.
