{~~~Guns, Guns and Mo' Guns - The Right To Keep And Bear Arms~~~}

Yes IMO but, the G19/23 are my favorites for CCW/EDC (I can shoot these very well).
The compact Glock frames are about the smallest that I can shoot effectively.
I've tried most of the "new and improved" compacts and subcompacts, but keep coming back to where I started G19/23.
I have never owned a compact G19/23.
All my experience is with subcompacts.

But I plan to try more compacts & fullsize

fam, try the G19.....it's the best all around gun....it can literally do everything comfortably and reliably. it's easily my most used gun.
I plan on it. I got involved with two SW40VE

omfortable grip, slim enough to conceal, big enough to hold 15+1, and they were cheap.

One was in a truck when it was stolen, now the last one is missing a front sight. Imagine fix it and keep it, but still adding..

Question: what class is PDW? For CQC?

Because I was enamored by the Kriss Vector a few years back, but it didnt have a practical use in my life.

PAP M92PV (AK pistol) Is what I like. Hard hitting 7.62, short barrel, compact, 30rd, can shoulder it with a brace or use a single point sling for tension to stabilize.

I dont see the purpose of anything bigger than a handgun ... in a handgun caliber. If its bigger, it needs to be bigger.

PDW's by definition are compact, SMG's (or a derivative of), that are chambered in pistol calibers. Almost any FA can be kitted for CQC/CQB, it's more about distance and target acquisition, than it is about weapons system. If your 7.62 works for you, then cool. There are a multitude or reasons that I wouldn't use any of my SBR's or rifles in a CQC situation, but that's a personal choice. My feeling is that there are many tools to have in your box, you need to choose the most effective for your application (if given a choice).

FWIW, have you ever fired a short barreled 7.62 indoors without ears? How about in the dark?

I get it, the more tools the better. Can you you school me on some of the multitude of reasons?

Indoors at a range, but ear gear and yes, at night... fireball is huge

FWIW, I know dudes who love big calibers in rifles but not in handguns, especially revolvers. They can't overcome the shockwave from a revolver shooting big rounds to keep good accuracy. I now my Draco pistol has about the same concussion as my 357 revolver (6" barrel). Luckily, I have a brace on that AK so it is manageable but the fireball is huge. Here's a pic w/o a brace.

Projectile over penetration, disorientation from concussion and muzzle flash...
I'm not trying to change anyone's prospective, as with anything in life YMMV.
** Edit- None of this is proven, they are just my thoughts based on limited experiences and theory.

I have a question for you. Have you set up (or are you able to set up) a range at the compound?

Ok, after reading your first statement now I want a PDW :hmm: thanks. I'll look into the MPX & Scorpion since they're both on y'all list. Does AR pistol qualify?

I haven't, yet, but I am able to (ordinance-wise). It's in the plans, but .... priorities.

A buddy has an idea about moving targets... idk how to do that. I just wanna start with metal hung on trees maybe, & plinking tumblers. Maybe a double-sided bench 200-400 yards away... Shit, I dont know!

Any ideas?

I have zero experience with ranges. I would definitely look into something simple at 1st and expand from there. I'm not sure if you watch Hickok 45's videos?
On the other side of this pandemic, I plan on actively looking into acquiring some property.

Going to pick her up soon to be my conceal carry.

Meh.... Have you shot one before? I'm only asking because I wasn't impressed at all. Not a fan of the ergonomics nor the trigger. I also hate that I have to use the pinky extension, to allow it to fit in my hand properly. The extension defeats the purpose of a sub-compact. :dunno:

personally ,i am trying to be highly proficient between 0-100 yards and good at 100-400 yards . It's not very often i will need to shoot anything past 50 yards .
