UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been arrested again.

According to Jones’ arrest record, he was arrested early Thursday morning and booked at 4:43 a.m. local time in his home city of Albuquerque, N.M., on charges of driving under the influence, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container and no proof of insurance.

According to a report from KOAT Action News 7, local police officers responded to 3rd and Central avenues in Albuquerque after gunshots were fired shortly after 1 a.m. Officers reportedly found Jones inside a running vehicle. Jones reportedly denied knowing anything about the gunshots.

Jones allegedly told responding officers he had been driving and planned on doing so in the near future, according to the report. A breathalyzer test was performed, and Jones reportedly “performed poorly.” Police then reportedly found a black handgun and a 750ml bottle of Recuerdo mezcal in the vehicle. Jones was taken into custody.

According to New Mexico state law, aggravated DWI occurs when a subject tests for a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent or higher on a breathalyzer exam, which is twice above the legal limit.

According to Albuquerque’s Metropolitan Detention Center current inmate list, Jones no longer is in custody.

Jones is no stranger to run-ins with the law. In 2012, he avoided jail time on a misdemeanor DWI charge caused by running his Bentley into a utility pole in upstate New York. Jones’ next major incident came in April 2015, when he was involved in a hit-and-run that left a pregnant woman with a broken arm and resulted in him being stripped of his UFC title.

Although Jones avoided a jail sentence, he got 18 months of supervised probation and had to make 72 charity or youth outreach appearances. He completed the work, but in March 2016 had a highly publicized traffic stop in which he engaged in a verbal back-and-forth with an Albuquerque police officer after being accused of drag racing.

In February, Jones defended his light heavyweight title with a unanimous decision over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in Houston. In 2019, he had title fight wins over Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith.

I’m shocked.... :hmm:

What a waste of talent... he’s only going to change when he hits rock bottom!!!

Sounds like one of those bs DWI charges my boy got here. The car was off but he was behind the wheel listening to music. In nys that supposedly means intent to drive. The gun shit is stupid tho

I think that dude was hammered, pulled off to the side of the road, and decided to do some impromptu target shooting into the woods. I'm fairly certain that he drives around with at least one gun in his cars. Or not.

thts that 3 strikes emotion bruh....smh

Hate seeing him crying like a bitch like that before these devils. And it amazes me how he still doesnt know how to conduct himself when engaged by law enforcement after having so many run ins with them. He was far too talkative and provided far too much information. Also interested to see what his bloodtest revealed because his sobriety test wasnt that bad. This isnt that big of a deal but his decision making remains problematic.

Meanwhile tho, Conor McGregor destroying property and assaulting fans, punching out senior citizens, and raping bitches yet this bogus DWI will get far more air time.

 That Conor McGregor shit got all kinds of attention. You really haven't heard that much about this arrest. People are so used to him fuckin' up. Plus Conor is way more popular than Jones around the world.

What a clown.

That said, this shit don't have anything to do with him fighting. Ain't no 'me too' shit, so the show must go on.
Yeah this will pass. I don't give a shit if he gets a DUI. I mean, since it's HIM, It sounds crazy, but I don't care. Can't nobody whoop his ass. That's what I pay to see. If he's a fuck up in the streets, that's on him.

I wanted DC to beat his ass. He didn't. I've accepted this.

Bullshit. Conors rape allegations (plural) got ZERO air time. And the sucker punch on the old man barely got a passing mention. Sportscenter did a report on Jones today and First Take did an entire segment and debate on it.
