Im public enemy fan. All these years I've never heard or cared who Chuck D voted for. One thing I've always liked about chuck, was being at a concert where he said "I'm not telling you guys HOW to think, I'm telling you TO THINK"

This isn't consistent with that to me.


Having said all that, if I hear about a public enemy concert and I plan to go (I haven't been in years but IF) , and I hear that Flav isn't gonna be there-- I'll still go. Because i dont care THAT much about Flav, or Griff. Chuck and the DJ is who I come to see. I also don't. Give a shit who Chuck votes for. This firing thing is just one point where I don't agree with him. I've seen them before like that actually.

How exactly does ADOS Flav "make sense"? Serious question. What specifically has Flav done "for the culture" since "Flava of Love" ended besides minstrel shuck and jive before any camera, get repeatedly arrested and sued for dumb shit and skeet raw inside random white trash Beckys?

I don't even agree with most of Chuck D's politics or business practices, but to either/or suddenly lift ADOS Flav as some contrasting ideal poster boy symbol of cultural integrity and Afrocentric consciousness is... hilarious. Yvette/Tariq/Tone level hilarious.

The Bernie poster and rally said Public Enemy RADIO, and Chuck D owns all the rights to both names. Chuck D wrote virtually all of Flav's non ad-libbed song lyrics, and anyone who knows anything about Chuck D is that for 35+ years he has always been highly political and a commercial businessman. He wants Trump gone, and Bernie is simply the horse Chuck has decided to place his bets on.

Flav hasn't actually performed onstage with Chuck D in forever and wasn't scheduled to perform this time or any other time in the near future. No one mentioned his name or ever suggested he was still with the rest of the group or with Bernie. Flav was the one who went public with an ill-advised and totally toothless C&D petition. No one tried to make the PE breakup public, especially making this the hill for him to die on, but don't start none, won't be none... :dunno:

Look at it this way: When someone is trying to bring an important message, there is a certain group that is not going to be receptive to that message. We'll call them the lowest denominator. If you have a person within your group that can appeal to those that are not willing to listen from the jump, he can bring them in with his antics and then they will hear what's actually being delivered to them. And he was very good for them in a live setting.

Agree with you 100% - well said. Flav definitely played a critical role in packaging the overall PE "brand" as did Griff, Terminator X, and the others.

But I honestly think PE would have still been dope without Flav.

Honestly, Flav would have blown up had he came out during the mumble rap peak a few years ago.

Warren is my first choice, Biden my second. I don't like Bernie, and I had hoped he would run for president at one time. When he hit the national stage it became apparent he only understands economics through the lens of class, not race or other factors.

It may not be malicious, but he has been talking about the white working class for decades and I don't think he has had a true enlightenment when it comes to black issues, he just has black folks giving him the right words to say. It comes out when he gets agitated or gets comfortable and goes on a long riff. This has been his position for years, and I don't think he's changed it.

If he gets the nomination he gets my vote, but it's because Trump is a danger, not because he's a great candidate. I'm willing to do what his supporters SHOULD have done last year when it came to Hillary. If we don't get both houses tho, we still lose. Nothing can be enacted without a Congress to bring legislation to the floor and pass it.

Truer words never written. I was dealing with kindergarten aged children for weeks at a time. We had to spend time singing songs and play exercising before they gathered round to tolerate a lecture. Same damn shit with adults.
