There's no information yet on any causalities or damage to Iraq's Ain al-Assad military base, a US official told Reuters


Rockets have been fired at Iraq's Ain al-Assad military base, which houses US troops, Reuters and AFP news agencies reported late on Tuesday.
Reuters, citing a US official, said there is no information yet on any damage or casualties from the rockets.
The reports come less than a week after the US killing of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.
Iran had vowed severe retaliation.

The US is not going to War with Iran.

And Trump does not want a War.

The Pentagon has already briefed Trump that if the US makes a move into Iran, it will make the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan look like a boy scout jamboree. Trump does not want to leave office unless he is 100% sure he can stand on stage and claim Victory the way President George Bush did after Desert Storm in the 1990s. Trump does not want to be like President George Bush leaving office with Iraq/Afghanistan FUBAR.

US Forces will not only have to deal with the Iranian military, but also a large scale insurgency from the civilian population.

And the US at the same time will have to keep shit staple in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yeah you are looking at a 50 years war. Id say the best solution is to nuke them. Thats the only way you will win. Unless you want to spend 15 trillion dollars a decades in the Middle East.
 
Here's what I'm thinking.. Iran is probably more advanced on the weaponry side than we're the government is willing to admit... Remember they captured a downed drone previously, and they reverse engineered and added that tech to its offensive and defensive capabilities as a start.
