Since Democrats are acting funny about the reperations and basically not even addressing black issues. I will sit 2020 out.I could never vote for Donald trump.
Trump will win 2020 easy. When I look at his crowds size. You got mother fuckers waiting in line for hours. I do not see that kind of crowd size or vote enthusiasm with any democratic candidate and that is a usually good indicator.
1. The ENTIRE democratic field is weak. No one is exciting the masses. No one moves you to act and none of them are too much different from the next.
2. The Democrats did not groom anyone the past three years to be a lock to beat trump.
3. The are all passive (weak af actually). There was a wave that won the House. A "repudiation" of Trump and his rule. Yet ALL of them are affraid to truly attack the Trump and use the disgust and leverage they have.

You should focus your energy into figuring out how to get republicans to give tangibles. They will be the only ones in the position to do so in the future.
Economic policy doesn't matter. Health Care doesn't matter. The Environment doesn't matter. Education policy doesn't matter. Getting money out of politics doesn't matter. Etc etc. Irrespective of how these issues affects black folks and people at the margins in general.

Sorry, no, I don't buy that. Some black folks have been traumatized and conditioned to the point around things we couldn't obtain or participate in legally in this country, that we dismissed certain institutions as beyond us and "white people shit." Voting. Investing. In some circles, education. We brought into the propaganda that we weren't smart enough or talented outside of venues that entertained white folks.
We have grown men on here who don't understand the power of voting while, at the same time, white folks and gays and all these other groups they complain about "getting more" than us never miss an election. They spend time and money passing laws and cheating to keep us from having a voice in the political system. Everything they do, from posting misinformation targeting black folks that the polling date has changed, telling us we can vote by text, that people with warrants or back child support will be apprehended, to gerrymandering, to trying to rig the census on, has been designed to give white Republicans more power. Yet we want to dismiss it and sit out. They knew Trump would be a disaster but they were voting in concert to use him as a vehicle to get their judges and potential abortion bans and got him elected anyway. They were not willing to let dems set their agenda back. They hate democrats and love their pet issues more than they love this country. We don't have that passion. Come hell or high water they are going to get a Republican, if possible. They will lie, cheat and steal to do it, and then proclaim their victory the will of God. The only thing that stops this is when we show up, but we don't do it consistently.
We have folks who want to withhold votes until they get reparations. Or rather want US to withhold votes, since they weren't voting in the first place. They will never get them because they are not willing to hold the line for dems. When they get as passionate about reparations as evangelicals are about abortion and the SCOTUS, they might have a chance. I don't think that check comes via the GOP, but since they aren't willing to even address anyone in that party, I guess it doesn't matter anyway. White folks won't concede power or give up their political voice for a reason, but we have folks trying to talk us into doing it.
They don't need a politician who excites them. All they need is a warm body to sign the bills and they have a political and fundraising machine in place to do their best to make it happen. SMH.

A repeat of the last 50 years. Democrats fall through at 2am, handle their business, and leave black voters laying in the wet spot. Black voters see all their neighbors(lbgtq, hispanics) getting rings on their fingers and treated with respect. Ol' reliable who always answers the late night texts never gets any respect. To be fair, we do get to eat off the crumbs of the democrat table. When they do general good, we benefit. So it benefits cacs followed by us. Health care, economy, education, and so on. Nothing fucking specific though, unless you count the prison industrial complex, cops kicking our asses in every democrat-run city, war on poverty, etc. lol
Dems are the ones who are on the side of anti discrimination laws. Not just the passing of them, but the enforcement of them. It's dems who tried to hold local law enforcement accountable, Trump and Sessions rolled all that back. It's more complicated at the local level, but dems aren't perfect and we have a bunch of racists in our party also. They are, however, more representative of the makeup of our country. They have black folks in leadership and elected positions. They put black judges on the bench. We need people making decisions who aren't afraid of us which means other black folks. The GOP is mostly white men making laws based on stereotypes they hold a bout black folks and other minorities.
Black folks need healthcare more than anyone. We go longer without a diagnosis so have less chance of recovery due to progression before problems are detected. Dems are for health-care. Dems are for a living wage so you can spend time with your kids and not work 2+ jobs. Affordable college. Early childhood education. Safety nets so people don't become desperate and turn into criminals, go homeless or starve. Labeling GMO's. Clean water. Clean Air. Antifracking. Job training. Infrastructure like high speed rail. Holding corporations accountable so they dont rip off consumers and banks so they can't crash our economy. Trump blocked the law going into effect that would have made financial advisors work in their clients best interest, so now people wanting retirement and investment advice and be fleeced to the benefit of other clients. Trump has argued the financing of HBCU's is unconstitutional. He blocked the overtime law that would have meant more money for black folks.
If you want something tied up in a bow with a tag that says "To: Black men, From: Democrats" you may not find it, but how are any of the dem values hurting you? The GOP wants to limit our rights and our power, why wouldn't you want to keep them out of office? How does letting them maintain power benefit you? They only argument I understand is that the GOP are anti-immigrant so it might mean more jobs for black folks, but they aren't anti-immigrant because they want to benefit us, they just want to keep the country majority white, which means getting rid of them before we become their primary focus.
Even denying climate change endangers us. Storms are getting more powerful, usually black folks are in the areas hit the worse. Dems want to enforce building codes and prepare. The GOP doesn't and Trump has the deficit so high the last few storms they denied valid claims because the money is scarce. All he wants money for is building a wall and caging folks to make his white racist base happy. Not all of the GOP is racist, but racism isn't a deal breaker for them, especially at the expense of the SCOTUS and outlawing abortion, hence the embrace of Trump.
