WTF was she so intently focused on...AND she's looking across the damn pool at the same time?
I can relate like a muhfucka!I got pulled over by a State Trooper at O Dark 30 am right before the shift change. The Trooper walks up (I kept military marking prominently displayed to include plates...on the 'Thanks for your Service' tip o the game) and I told him I had to make PT formation at 5:45, etc., so he took my license, registration, and insurance and was gonna write me a warning and cut me loose.
15 minutes elapsed...
...10 minutes more elapsed, the Shift change has taken place, and the sun has risen. When this muhfucka finally emerges from the Vehicle, he's got a whole heap of paper printed out. 
"Sergeant M, I can't let you drive this car any further."
What...WTF Trooper So & So! What's going on here!?"I don't know for sure, but for whatever reason, the Registration on your vehicle has been suspended. It doesn't say WHY in the system, so you're gonna have to contact DOT to find out why, but I can't let you drive this car. Do you have any alternatives to get to Post?"
Well I guess I gotta call my Unit and have someone come and get me.
"If you can have someone else come out, they can drive your car the rest of the way."
Muhfucka proceeded to hand me 3 Citations for driving the car while the Registration was suspended, a speeding ticket, and Failure to Appear in Court for a ticket 4 years prior so there was a warrant.
That shit was just shy of $500.While I was sitting there, 75 miles to go, another Trooper had pulled up and posted in the tree-lined speed trap and emergency turnaround point. He sat there for a good 15 minutes and then pulled up behind me. Muhfucka came to me and asked if I was having car trouble.
"There's no need to patronize me Trooper, you were sent to see if I'd stayed put or not. A couple of guys from my Unit are enroute."
He laughed his ass off and left.
All the while that I was sitting there, it occurred to me that it was odd that I can't drive MY car but someone else can. The info was that my CAR'S registration was suspended (which I'd never heard of), not my DL. WTF?, Over.
When I finally got to work, I'd contacted DOT to see what was up. In 98, my brother had gotten out of prison and I bought him a budget ride and paid for the plates and registration by check. The State had finally gone digital and in doing so, found the uncashed personal check that I had written 14 fuckin' years ago. No attempts were made to notify me at all. I was with a different bank and they couldn't cash that check is all that mattered to the State. So they suspended my CURRENT vehicle's registration.
I had to reschedule my Court appearance in the County where I was originally cited and have the warrant dropped. I caught a DWB for switching plates from one van to another because the fuel pump had gone out in late Fall and I had it towed to my driveway where it sat til Spring until I put in a new pump. When I did, I put some good plates on it to test drive it and went to pick my wife up from work.
A Trooper got behind me on a fishing expedition with me passing through CAC County and cited me for improper registration...turns out it was now a mandatory Court appearance.
I did not pass Go, nor did I collect $200...I went straight to the Municipal Bldg. and paid the ticket on the way home. He got me...no biggie. I didn't even read the print, I just paid it
and called it good.Fast forward to that day, I paid the County $120 for the warrant and arranged a new Court date, I went to the County where the Trooper had cited me and pleaded with the City Attorney, told her what had happened and she dropped all of the tickets.
I got my registration squared away and all was good...until my next DWB.
CAC Cop pulled me over for DOING the speed limit...said that everybody speeds through town...ain't that a bitch? It ain't in the system yet that I'd paid for the warrant, so HE cites me for THAT, plus another for driving under suspension (to pad the local coffers). Muhfucka's did a catch and release on my ass for cash.So finally, I gotta take a Pass to go to Court. I show up at Night Court, starting at 6 pm and there are 40 people there.
The first case was a dude who caught his 5th DUI before he could appear for the 4th.
The second case was a dude with his 4th DUI.
The third case was a dud on HIS 5th DUI.
Now cue the meme above.
I was the fourth case called and the Judge was all pissed off and shit, she was on some Judge Judy shit at that point.
When she called my case, the wench was like blah, blah, blah, see the Cashier on the way out.
I was so fucked up too, I couldn't even tell her that my shit had ALREADY been paid, but now the Court has recorded me as owing.
I paid again and about two months later the State refunded me my overpayments through the mail.
I got locked up, because Clayton Co. forgot that I paid a fine. Luckily, I had a copy of the receipt in my wallet.I paid again and about two months later the State refunded me my overpayments through the mail.
