Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

When the writers no longer have the direct source material and decide to end the show in 13 episodes which forced them to rush everything.
Correction.... when GRRM himself told the writers how every single character’s story WILL end about 5-6 years ago... when HBO & The Showrunners AGREED that they would only film 8 seasons, comprised of roughly 75 episodes.

Ill take this ending instead

So this terrible episode basically sets up Bran to be the true bad guy of the show. He set the events into motion that caused all the problems just so he could become king. Why else would he be ensure that Jon must be told his true name. He new it would set Danny and the north at odds.

He told Jon it was “his choice” to tell Sansa and Arya, though.

Hbo agreed because d and d said they got it, obviously d and d didnt have it
Hbo said we will give you 10 episode seasons, writers said nah we got this, we gonna wrap this shit in 13 episodes that we split into 2 seasons
The decision was made 5-6 years ago. When they were in season 3. Not at the end of season 6. Let that marinate.

I thought this season was the only truly weak one that the show ever had. But I really loved the character send off moments. And I love the idea of a New Westeros being the ending note. The great houses took a beating over the last 8 seasons, so it makes senses that the country that goes forward is a different one then what came before. I really love the idea of Jon going back to the wall and starting a new era of the Night's Watch where they help displaced free folks find and settle new lands instead of being at constant war. Who's to say that a hundred year from the ending, there could even be open trade between free folk and the North. With Jon and Sasha having ushered in a new way of thinking.

That ending was beautiful. It might not have been the ending that you had in your mind. Or the ending that you wanted. It wasn't for me. I thought Jon would fully embrace his family roots and become King Aegon 6th of his name.
But I still respect and love the ending that they gave us.

I'm not disappointed in the slightly with the unGodly amount of time that I spent with this show over the last eight years. Whether it be watching it, rewatching it, or discussing it in here or among friends. And it still sits at my number 2 spots for greatest shows of all times, only behind the Wire.

Agreed. I liked this episode.

The ending tied all the storylines together & had plenty of ‘call backs’ to past seasons.

Joffrey once insulted Jaime by saying: “Oh look Uncle, someone forgot to write down all of your good deeds.” And it was fitting that Lady Brienne was the person to write down all of his good deeds.

Sansa did ‘sell out’ Jon tho. Because last episode she told Tyrion: “What if there is someone BETTER (than Dany)?? Because she was trying to get Jon to claim the throne...

But this episode she agrees to ‘banish him’ to the Wall.... so that SHE could rule the North alone. She wanted to be ‘royalty’ ever since season 1... and now she finally got it... by stabbing Jon in the back. :D

I like the new Small Council.

Podrick finally became a real Knight.

Sam finally became a real Maester.

Tyrion finally paid Bronn everything he owed him.

Greyworm decided to head to Naath, to find another Missande.

Jon got to go back to the North, where he felt most ‘at home’... and reunite with Ghost.

Sam the first Maester with a fullfledge family

Greyworm is cutting the throats of prisoners in the middle of the street, you really think that would be on his mind after finding out Daenerys is dead?
Greyworm was cutting throats because he ‘was folllowing orders’. Like he’s been doing ever since season 2.

Now with nobody ‘giving him orders’ anymore.... he has to consider ALL the consequences of his OWN actions. He has to think ‘long term’. Not ‘short term’.

Not that hard to understand. :smh:

It’s easy to kill Jon Snow & other prisoners of war when a savage-ass Dragon ‘got your back’.

Not so easy when you have to think about ALL the ramifications & how you will ‘wage war’ with no allies in the immediate area to provide supplies or reinforcements, in a few months / or weeks down the road.

That exactly WHY he kept Jon alive... until he could figure out ‘what to do with him’... instead of acting off ‘rage’ alone.

I knew this season would be rushed from a while back and felt people were being excessive with the on and on ranting....this final episode though :smh:...the unsullied didnt kill Jon? unbelievable....nah, somebody just didn't feel like doing a final battle against Dany's forces
