Up then down to lift the pole to max height. I'm pulling in legendary fish without much effort.
Hold R trigger(or whatever you shoot with) to keep the fish from pulling the line out while it's fighting. Also don't cast it the max distance. Its just further you'll have to reel the fish back in.

I'm @ 73% of the main story completed. Are there any missions associated with Tumbleweed? I have most of the map uncovered.
that’s weird...I’ve killed gangs on main roads...and passerbys have seen me looting their bodies in the aftermath and didn’t even look @ me...the most recent example was I was riding along and seen an abandoned wagon...shit blew up before I got too close and knocked me off my horse...then 5 lemoyne raiders tried to ambush me but they ended up getting smoked...I jumped back on my horse initially and was about to just outrun em and said fuck that
You can’t go to tumbleweed until you finish the main story.

@chrislee I just seen the clip of you taking out the old lady and her sons...whistling to get their attention and come outside was dope...I’m surprised the game “allowed” them to react to/like that...when I went back to kill the sons...I tried to walk up in the cabin but they blocked the door then pushed it hard to knock me down and I had to quickly draw and use dead eye while shooting them from my back...subtle but cool difference that shows how much realistic detail they’ve put into this game

it’s a must that you do a manual save in @ least 2 slots in-between missions...I do so every time I acquire/find/steal/buy something new...best advice I got in this thread
Damn bro RPG 101. Remember that pain and it'll never happen to you again. But yeah, always have multiple save files. Doesn't happen as much now, but shit could get corrupted and ruin all that work.

I know you can buy it at the end but you can get it before that. Pearson can make it for you but there's a lot you have to do first.

Im almost there but mind you all I do is hunt and explore for the most part. Ive done most of the challenges and most of the Trapper clothing sets and give stuff to Pearson whenever I randomly find something I need for the satchels.I want to get the legend of the east satchel but it's ridiculous what you have to do to get it.

visit the pig farm in Valentine morning or afternoon approach the porch and NPCs will give you instructions or you will over hear from 2 NPCs leaving what to do - not as serious as Aberdeen but funnyWow WTF!
I don't have the patience for all that hunting but I want to get it early in the game so I don't have a choice. A hunting I will go.
The strategy guide lists where all the animals spawn so that helps you waste less time searching. Just remember that cougars (and I believe panthers, too) only spawn at night and you should be str8.

I barely died during the main campaign but I caught several Ls playing the epilogue.
Came up on the Klan, trying to listen to the dialog, and before I knew it they burned the cross and killed 3 brothers! I slaughtered them all like animals. I regret not saving the brothers though.
