Eminem response to Machine Gun Kelly, ....."KILL SHOT," ...what y'all think?

Yea, I agree with JayBlac.
Em fell a bit short... and he left the 'door open' for MGK to come back even stronger.

I'll take it further. Em LOST.
Go watch Jay Blacs reaction to MGK, then go back to this. He's reacting to bar after bar over there. Here, he's just saying shit like "finish your food!" He cut half of it out cuz the shits BORING.

My criteria for battle songs are

1. The song has to have some kind of appeal beyond the battle. Is the beat right? Is the flow good? Can this song stand on its own even when no one cares about tbe battle anymore or to someone who doesn't even care? Back to back by Drake, and bridge is over by KRS are good axamples of that. The takeover by Jay Z is too. Oddly enough ether by Nas is the worst best ever. But even if the beat sucks and the flow is nice, we might have something that breaks this rule.

On MGK song, he had a great beat, a good hook, and his delivery and flow were on point. That song can work in a club on its own.

Em used an old ass beat and flow, which kinda made what MGK said even more relevant. Em has always had problems riding the beat, so here it shows up again.

2. Once we establish that THEN we get to content.
Sometimes really good reveals in the song can break rule number one.

When Pusha wemt at Drake- even though the beat and flow were pretty good already, what really br9ught it home was the nastiness of the lyrics and the new info we learned.

MGK, Was dropping some info that was relevant. Lots of it. I rewound a few parts especially when. He offered tbe fade lol. Only issue I had was him paying a little too much homage in a disservice song. Leave that it for now. You're here to kill this guy.

Em had a few nice bars but a LOT of dead space in between. To me, he sounded like he didn't even wanna waste his time. That's understandable, but hey- he entered the battle.

em had some shitty flows on this. Sometimes it was downright awkward and unlistenable. There were times he showed bits of what he is, but overall I think he post this.

If Jay Blac breaks this down, even considering the length of MGKs vs Ems, you're gonna have WAY more quotables And haymakers. for MGK.

this nigga really in here going back and forth w/ himself for pages...how soon you niggas forget shit lol

This shit is ridiculous...
mgk entire track was summed up in the first 30 seconds of Eminem's response.

You're old
Your beard is goofy
You scream into mics

THAT'S IT!

Other than that, what of merit did he say? He talked about fuckin Kim... Bruh, Eminem done talked about KILLING this bitch and he's fucked her already!

I'm giving this one to Kelly.
Kelly beat Em at his own game, IMO.
Em usually mocks the people he disses by imitating them. Kelly did that, so when Em tried it, it was less effective because it had already been done.
Em usually tries to eliminate what people can say about him by saying it first. Kelly did that.
You outsell me? Check.
You're a better rapper. Check.
You have a more fans. Check.
You have a bigger career. Check.
Kelly covered all of that and still managed to diss Em, so when Em repeats what MGK already said, it lessens the impact of his diss.
I think some of you are giving Em a legacy pass but really, the track was trash and the flow wasn't that great.
At least you could nod to MGK's shit.
I think Em will make another track later on. He can do better. I suspect he will try again.
Its Em's own fault. He actually started it.
Fans/stans will say Em won off loyalty and popularity.

agreed for the most part...I won’t call em’s track trash...he had some scathing lines but yes the overall impact of the song was neutralized based on most of what you said

I meant the beat. Sorry. I should have been more specific.

I can tell some of y'all really don't know Em's style...

This song (Killshot) is bait...

It's bait for MGK to get overconfident & fire a second shot...

Which leads Em to not only end MGK, but take shots at Joe Budden...

Let MGK respond, y'all see...

That last sentence is true.. If you take both songs and switch the person that spit it ud get a diff response... If mgk came out with this track nigs would say it was wack, if em had mgk track nigs would have said em went in

And Ems response is

I'm giving you attention.

Nice try... But I know better

I agree with you, the candy man is baiting the gangster with poison sugar coated lollipops to await the deadly reaction.

Ill tell you this also. Someone said em would kill mgk in a real battle face to face.

Unless it was on grind time mgk would win.

If they battled on smack and held the venue in a spot like brooklyn and have a majority black male audience mgk would stand a better shot.

Having better sucess and more fans and social status gives you a win on wax 100% of the times in rap battles but in battle leagues rap fans want to hear bars.

Hence see hollow da don v.s joe budden and joe lost.

MGK would win cuz he actually went at em character and em never responded to the black balled and paul rosenberg comment.

If mgk could control the crowd and went 2nd he would get mad respect simply off of having the balls to face eminem and hype and anticipation alone.

So on wax em
Judging offf battle rap rules mgk

Some of you guys need to listen again or check the lyrics. He addresses everything including his wealth.
He did not address the black mailing mgk.....how you brag about out selling a rapper you say is "you the wack me"

The fact he addressed everything but that gives it validity.

So you black balling wack broke rappers? That is negated. That is like Jay-z trying to black ball Bubba Slick em Hound of pretty ricky. Makes no sense.

He talked about it in Sway's interview on his YouTube channel.

Niggas is really in here copping pleas and re-arranging rules just so they can MGK won.

Look, I haven't listened to an Eminem album since Encore. I think he's out of touch. I think his beats are wack. I was tired of those goofy ass sweatsuits too. And I don't wanna hear white angst from a 40 year old white dude.

But I can still be objective here and say Em bodied MGK.

The dudes saying the beat ain't hard are crazy. This is a classic Em beat. Y'all want that pop shit he does now. This shit is over. Em bodied him. And the clowns saying MGK's hook is better don't even realize that it's Ems hook from the MGK diss.

Yea niggaz trippin. It's cool to just not like Em. But that beat was cold and he was spittin.

MGK won this battle so far. He had the better song
The shit went over y’all niggas head.
Patrick Swayze died on sept 14 same day killshot was dropped. The actor that dies in the movie “killshot” has the same name “colson” as MGK! Y’all niggas can vibe to “your beard is weird” if you want to! :hmm:

If I have to go do research then the song was not good.

MGK won because it was a straight forward honest diss track where the flow, beat and substance matched.

Research? You know not there’s a thing called a brain that stores information besides google. But you might need to look up the word hater cuz I told you some shit you didn’t know and you responded like the rest of these young dumb niggas out here :smh:

OK that was clever. A m.c responsibility is to appeal to their artist. Not to kill bill or what ever trump supporters

Exactly. 8 Miled him. Beat him at his own game.

MGK had nothing to lose. Everyone already knows who the better emcee is. Everyone already knows who has more money. Everyone already knows who’s had a better career. Dude admitted all of that. And Em bringing all of that up proves that he really didn’t have anything real to say. Which (going back to Joe Budden) has been the case for years.

Given what was expected and how long it took to respond, this was completely underwhelming and a huge disappointment.
