Not really a legal one but a public opinion one. The tapes would have leaked anyway. This way he gets to argue the point that everyone is out to get him. He has always paid hoes and his voters know that. Why hide it once the evidence came out? What is he going to lose? That illegal campaign finance law they say he broke would have to have someone enforce it. Who is doing that?
