Personally I thought he had meetings scheduled with a few teams, no way you can criss cross the USA in 24 hours to meet with teams.

The nigga is a 300 pounder, rehabbing a devastating injury and he probably got spooked. Maybe he should have waited till the end of the week, hold those meetings with other teams and see if he can get paid, I mean it's only July 3 (12:55am CST as of this post) but I'm not an all-star basketball player who just watched $175 million go out the window with my leg last January.
Secondly, as I've stated in other posts, I'm not mad at the Pelicans for being apprehensive. Giving him the big money he was looking for could have hamstrung this franchise, if he had turned out to be a flop after that injury. This team, this market and this fanbase can't afford something like that to happen.

Dont fall for it Duece. The guy is and always has been a fucking clown. He had multiple teams interested and offers pending.. Free agency started Sunday. He tapped out and called GSW before 24 hours had passed. Thats cowardice. He took the lazy way out.. As expected for a fat fuck with a reputation of being lazy with poor work ethic. He was pissed NO wouldnt entertain a max offer (which they would be fools to do ) and instead of fielding realistic offers he caved like a bitch and begged GSW for a roster slot.
Him trying to frame it as some sort of retribution or retaliation against the league for not throwing him offers is delusion and/or copout bullshit. The guy wanted a soft landing spot with little expectation and workload while coattailing his way to a title in the process.
The aspect of this thats poor business tho is that he could have gotten a mid range long deal from multiple teams or a 2 year w/option deal at worst. In those cases he would have made far more money and in the event that he looks like shit next season he wouldnt have to play for minimum or the exception again going forward. Now, if he stinks, hes fucked and will have to play for MLE/minimum level money again next summer.

Yeah I got home and watched that segment. I find it hard to believe no one offered him a deal. Reports are various teams were interested but wasn't willing to give him what he's looking for. He took the easy or smart way out depending on how you look at it. He can rehab and coast in a limited role and few expectations to get a ring and a max contract next year.

That stacked Laker team still may have gotten our ass whopped by the Warriors. We know that the Warriors are a dangerous team without KD. If you subtract KD from that team, add Kawhi to the Lakers I'm not going to be shouting were winning the championship this year. Warriors were just that good without KD.
