Lol, I’m ready! Upgrades will be very interesting this year given the 3 engine allocation. Haas will be a dark horse in the early races. If tire deg is an issue for Merc, it’s Ferrari season to fuck up again.Fuck them damn kids, Fuck Merc, Fuck Redbull, and especially Fuck McLaren. One more week. Forza Ferrari!!!

Merc will eventually pull away. Their power unit will see to that unless they have fatal flaw, which I doubt as they didnt need to try anything radical coming off another constructors. RedBull and Force India scare me. Ocon is highly underrated IMO and they have Merc power, it they find just a little bit of downforce(and can stop the infighting with Perez and Ocon) theyre gonna catch people sleeping. As for Red Bull... If Renault give them a reliable PU... Id say they may challenge Merc more so than Ferrari.Lol, I’m ready! Upgrades will be very interesting this year given the 3 engine allocation. Man, ride with Lewis so whoever gives him a seat is my team.
In those practice sessions Ferrari ran with the hyper tires and Merc just ran up to ultras because the hypers fell apart after 1 lap. We really won't know about the 2 new tire compounds or the "old" either until race day because Pirelli did something to the formula. Personally, I think Pirelli is the worst tire manufacturer I've seen for some time in F1. Their shit is always suspect. I don't doubt they cost Lewis a title a few years ago when they were blowing out.
Anyway, practice is when these teams sandbag like a mug. They always run seconds slower than the real race. Except for the backmarker teams.

I feel you. Lewis has earned my respect, but this shit here... Goes back waaaaay before lewis, or Merc, or the energy drink company. Ferrari and McLaren go back like the Celts and Lakers. I found it hard to fuck with Lewis initially because of that, and the fact that he stayed trying to emulate Senna with the constant dive-bombing and lunging. Thats not to say that I didnt see the talent, much like Max. But while hyper aggressive nature of his early style made him popular, I found it hard to respect. Same with Senna, amazing pace, and car control. But the lunging up the inside all the time.![]()
Oh, I go back before then. I remember Bruce McLaren and his racist ass and what he did to Senna. I agree with you. Fuck him and his team too cause they screwed Lewis out of at least one championship.
And that lunge, well it's been going on forever but only really became a "thing" when Piquet shot off his mouth and every other driver started critiquing his driving style. Shit, Jackie Stewart used it all the time but those Tyrell's were so fast, when shot wasn't coming out of them, it really didn't matter.
Pirelli are doing what was asked of them with the compounds. They were asked to make tyre deg an issue and thats what theyve done. To the detriment of their name though. All money aint good money.
True. But they were also asked to make them stickier. Kinda like they were before. Gawd I wish they'd stop tinkering with all this little shit and address the elephant in the room - engines.
I dont go back quite that far, but unwritten rules of racing are there for a reason and someone coming from 20 ft back divebombing is dangerous. Effective, but of the whole requiring little skill to pull off and make the move stick. Not to be confused with late braking. Theres skill in that. So Its always been hard for me to accept for that reason. Its an amateur move best left to those who cant gain the position any other way. If youre faster there are other, more "honorable" ways to pass.
Id even take the V8s back, with skinnier tyres, smaller wings and harder tyre compounds all around. No more insane levels of mechanical grip, less emphasis on aero, Just the car, and the drivers ability to push and keep the car at it limit.
You're right. But most new drivers do it until the older guys step to them and explain. If they continue to do it then they're just a prick. Or Pastor Maldonado.
I blame him and him alone for Alonso not getting that 3rd title in 2012... Had he not jumped the start, Grosjean doesn't run into Button and cause the Spa wreck.
How do you explain to people that didn't watch F1 how someone like him got a drive, let alone kept it so long. Yeah he paid his way, but goddamn was he incompetent.
Cliff notes: Basically the Halo wouldn't work in IndyCar because it would hinder the line of sight on high banking ovals.
I'd like to see how Eau Rouge works out... I give it 1 year.
So ESPN is supposed to be carrying the Sky Sports feed for their F1 Broadcasts, what can the Americans expect from Sky?
Their camera work is first rate. idk who the announcers are so can't comment until I do.
I think the camera work was the same for everybody because when the races were on NBCSN, Leigh Diffey would mention the "world feed" very often.
NBCSN didn't cue the replies, they always came from F1
Idiocy. Well, it certainly screws up the camera view although that's not really the driver's view. Have any SIMs incorporated it yet?
I really hope F1 2018 has a halo off option. I use cockpit cam when I race. I do NOT want to see a Thurman Thomas bar in my FOV.
Yeah. Personally, I don't understand why anyone would use anything other than a cockpit camera in a SIM. I mean, that's the whole point isn't it?
Is ESPN not showing anything this weekend, WTF???!!!
Practice 1 and 2 were on ESPN 3.
Practice 3 were supposed to start about 20 minutes ago on ESPNews
Qualifying is on ESPN2
and the race is on ESPN2
I searched and all I got was practice today at 10, Qualy at 2 tomorrow morning and the race. I had to download FP1 and 2. I didnt even know there was an ESPN 3.
