Kevin Spacey scenes cut from ‘All the Money in the World' movie, recast with Christopher Plummer

In a monumental and expensive move, Ridley Scott will remove embattled actor Kevin Spacey from his finished thriller All the Money in the World just weeks before the film's release.

Christopher Plummer will now play J. Paul Getty in the story about the infamous 1973 kidnapping of his grandson, 16-year-old John Paul Getty III.

The movie, which was pulled as the closing-night screening of AFI Fest at Scott's insistence, is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 22 via Sony's TriStar. As of now, the release date remains unchanged despite the reshoots, but insiders say that if anyone can pull off reshoots and still make the holiday release date, it's Scott.

The filmmaker made the decision with Imperative Entertainment, which produced and helped finance the movie, and only notified Sony of his decision late Wednesday afternoon, according to sources familiar with the situation, adding that Plummer was originally the first choice for the role, but top studio executives wanted a bigger name.

Bryan Cranston Says Kevin Spacey's Career 'Is Over': 'He's Not a Very Good Person'

Kevin Spacey's Baby Driver Costar Jon Bernthal Says Actor Was a 'Big Bully' on Set
Jon Bernthal says he was privy to aspects of Kevin Spacey‘s alleged inappropriate conduct before the slew of recent sexual assault or harassment accusations were leveled against the star

Bryan Cranston says Kevin Spacey is finished in Hollywood.

“He’s a phenomenal actor, but he’s not a very good person,” the Breaking Bad star, 61, recently told BBC Newsbeat. “His career now I think is over.”

Cranston claims to have never personally seen Spacey or any other Hollywood figure abusing people, yet he said that kind of behavior is also not totally unheard of either in the industry.

“You know it has gone on,” said the actor.

“There’s a disorder among all those people who use their power, their place or their status in any industry to overpower someone and force someone to do something that they don’t want to do.

“It’s beyond disgusting. It’s almost animalistic.”

Spacey, 58, is currently facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct after Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp accused the Oscar-winner of making inappropriate sexual advances towards him when he was only 14 in an October BuzzFeed article.

In response to the report, Spacey tweeted a statement saying he didn’t remember Rapp’s alleged incident and apologized “for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.” He also publicly came out as gay, which was met with criticism from prominent LGBTQ celebrities.

In recent days a number of others, including Irish barman Kris Nixon and Harry Dreyfuss — son of Oscar-winner Richard Dreyfuss — have also come forward with their own stories.

Spacey has not issued a response to any of the allegations beyond Rapp. Last week, a representative for the actor confirmed he was seeking treatment. “Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment,” said the representative in a statement. “No other information will be available at this time.”

Production on House of Cards has been indefinitely suspended since Oct. 31, and Netflix executives decided the streaming network won’t air new episodes if the actor remains involved in the series.

Along with producer Harvey Weinstein, action movie star Steven Segal and Entourageactor Jeremy Piven, the Usual Suspects star is one of many Hollywood figures being accused of abusing their position.

“It’s a form of bullying. It’s a form of control,” Cranston told the BBC. “It’s almost always [done to] young vulnerable men and women who are starting their career.

“That sort of experience goes unchecked until something like this happens.”

Despite the serious nature of the allegations against Spacey and the other Hollywood power players, however, Cranston — currently appearing in a West End production of Network at the at the National Theatre in London — can still see signs of hope and positive change amid the scandals.

“The pillars of what was are falling. Everything is being exposed,” he said. “Women and men should not have to tolerate misbehavior just because of their youth and inexperience. The silver lining is we’re not accepting behavior like that just because it’s the way it’s always been.”

 I love it. I hope he crashes and burns. White devils tried to ruin Bill Cosby for his attempt at owning NBC only for those get high whores used to accuse him to be exposed as liars. However, with Pandora's box already open it's now the season to persecute all rapists and sexual harassers which just happen to be mostly white men in power.

Twenty people have accused Kevin Spacey of “inappropriate behavior” during his tenure at a London theater.

The Old Vic theater on Thursday released findings from an investigation into Spacey’s time as artistic director, a position he held from 2004 to 2015. The review, which was conducted by an external law firm, comes amid a wave of sexual misconduct accusationsagainst the actor.

The nearly two-week investigation turned up 20 alleged incidents relating to The Old Vic between 1995 and 2013. All but two occurred before 2009, according to the theater.

In all but one case, individuals alleging “inappropriate behavior” by Spacey did not come forward at the time or asked that no formal action be taken, according to a press release issued by The Old Vic. None of the individuals who made allegations against Spacey said they were minors at the time of the incidents, according to the theater, and most shared their testimonies with investigators “on the promise of anonymity.”

“To all those people who felt unable to speak up at the time, The Old Vic truly apologizes,” Nick Clarry, chairman of the theater, said Thursday in a statement. “Inappropriate behavior by anyone working at The Old Vic is completely unacceptable.”

The Old Vic said Spacey had not yet responded to the findings of its investigation. A representative for the actor did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

Spacey made his Old Vic debut in 1998 while performing in a production of “The Iceman Cometh.” He went on to star in several productions throughout his tenure as the theater’s artistic director, including 2005’s “National Anthems,” 2011’s “Richard III” and 2015’s “Clarence Darrow.”

There has been an outpouring of sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey since last month, when actor Anthony Rapp accused the actor of making sexual advances on him when he was 14. Spacey said he did not remember the incident, but said he apologized if the accusation was true. He has not addressed several other accusations of sexual harassment or sexual assault against him that have since surfaced.

A representative for Spacey said earlier this month that the actor is seeking “evaluation and treatment.”

probably not as difficult as you would think...the movie seems to be carried by wahlberg and michelle williams more than anyone else which means spacey all totaled up probably had 10 or less scenes....scene reshoots happen all the time remember the last fant4stic movie?

Dude producing a hollywood movie is a study in chaos...

they shoot movies before a script is done....rewrite the movie in the middle of shooting...have major cast or production changes weeks before debut...and they can do that becuz they can throw money at all the problems.

This flick is a "prestige" film so its not really expected to make a profit just bring in awards.

Yeah but the this movie was shot all over the globe. It wasn’t just in a in a studio. This movie was done. You have to bring back crews, wardrobe, and everything.... especially on these period pieces. You have have to bring back cars... make sure locations are available to do reshoot scenes. Then you have to edit and you have to this ready to go in only 4 weeks.

Just the reshooting the desert scenes alone would have to be logistical nightmare because she would have to line up lighting to match up with other scenes shot at that location.... I Kevin Spacey was in a lot of scenes. I agree he isn’t the main actor but this isn’t a glorified camero. Getty is a big player in this. Looks like they said fuck expensive makeup for Christopher on these reshoots.. they were like we ain’t go time for this. You are old.. he was old.. it will Work as is.

Damn he playing Getty, :eek2::eek2::eek2:. They removed him thats crazy. I just saw the trailer with the other guy in it.
