Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a moment of self-reflection after a rough performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

"Maybe I don't have it anymore," the veteran said, per Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL.com.

"I'm not playing well enough," he added when asked about his comment.

Roethlisberger threw five interceptions—two returned for touchdowns—in the Steelers' 30-9 home loss to the Jaguars.

AsNFL Researchnoted, he is one of two players with a zero-touchdown, five-plus-interception game since 2014 (Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2016).

Roethlisberger might not have been as dominant as in the past, but he had performed well enough in the first four games of the season to lead the team to a 3-1 record. He had a 90.7 quarterback rating with six touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Sunday's struggles could be more related to the Jaguars defense, which entered the day leading the NFL with just 147 passing yards allowed per game. Opposing quarterbacks had just a 65.5 rating against this unit in the first four games.

Of course, Roethlisberger's words should not be taken lightly. He considered retirement before the start of this season and refused to commit to playing beyond the 2017, perEdBouchetteof thePittsburgh Post-Gazette.

He has also hadissues with his teammates this year, including a recent spat with top receiver Antonio Brown.

The Steelers are still 3-2 after the loss and will have at least a share of first place after Week 5, but the 35-year-old quarterback is clearly not enjoying himself.

I think it's time for them to get another quarterback anyway he's been inconsistent for the last few years anyway

Big Ben been trash.

He won two SB so he's got cover forever by the media and his fans.

Im calling it like I see it, Ben is holding his team back.

I wouldn't say all that this is still the same guy who threw six tds one week and seven the next. That wasn't 12 years ago. When your bad or not playing well for the moment that's what people remember. To me the bigger issue with him and it's always been the case win or lose is that he's just a lousy teammate off the field. He says things that create diversion and distraction. Always was that immature privileged crakka. All that throwing Antonio Brown under the bus publicly was stupid. While Brown might have been wrong dat nigga wants to win and works harder than anyone. The only dude you know no matter what is gonna show up on Sunday. But like I said earlier, beat the Chiefs Sunday and everything is different. Your only as good as your last game cause that's the only thing people remember. Chiefs are dealing with serious injuries. Kelce is having memory loss from his concussion, Houston is hurt and WR Conley is lost for the year looks like so who knows what's gonna happen in K.C. Steelers have as good a chance to win there as anybody. :dunno:

Nah. Not yet. He's not ready. Everybody can't be Dak. He needs to sit and watch a bit. It's a long season. Let's everybody just calm down a bit. It was a loss. It was a very very bad loss. But playoffs don't start in the beginning of October.

That self pity shit is a no go.All that "maybe I don't.have it anymore" talk is beyond suspect. Steelers don't have that steel curtain defense any more.they.HAVE to be able to score

Oh yeah he's a fuckin pain in the ass for his comments no question. But the loss really was on the offense. 3 trips in the red zone and you come up with 3 field goals. Defense played well enough to win and has both losses. Even in the Chicago game. If Bryant catches that 75 yard pass to open the game and special teams doesn't have a kick blocked that whole game is different. Defense is not the most pressing issue right now. Although Keith Butler needs to load the box more against crappy QB'S. Let Artie and Joe play man outside more. That needs to happen ASAP!!!

Doomed? OP must be hanging with the Dolphins' coaching staff.

:smh:

With the rapist out of the picture, the team will thrive.

They need a QB that won't turn it over as their running game and defense is good enough to win a Super Bowl.

This piece of shit been getting passes in the media for years, first the sexual assault accusations, continuously to question the coach, throw his teammates under the bus publicly, trying to tell a black person, how he should protest then a year later says he couldn't sleep at night because the team wasn't out for the anthem and now this bullshit.... Let this be a black player, folks in the media would be all over him.

Steelers going to the Super Bowl

Strangely enough, this might be EXACTLY what will happen. Its these kinda seasons where Pittsburgh end up in the playoffs fighting for their lives or going to the big dance and fighting it out there. Ben won two rings but he's been there several more times - if this IS his last year, he damn sure gonna ride the team there and bring them up to the line.

I hate when he do this shit. He's like a kid. In a few weeks this will all be forgotten.
