Jay "Mr. Real Estate" Morrison claims discrimination at Houstons in the ATL ( video )

Don't fall for the okie doke guys...Looks like a bunch of pseudo intellectual niggas making a big fucking fuss because they didn't get the answer they was looking for.

They said that they can not accommodate a party over 6....what did yall do? Make a big scene yelling discrimination when clearly there are sistas working there...there are other brothers and sisters eating there.

Then you have a whole fag in Masterbakers party trying to kick knowledge.
Yall were in the fucking wrong and also yall were on some "please massa please" shit for standing there for 30 plus minutes begging to eat there.

Fuck outta here...

You missed something. They had no problem about 7 being accommodated, the problem came when they wanted to split into two groups.

Bra we didn't see that part...The little loud bitch fucked it up for everyone. I am assuming she started running off at the mouth when they said they couldn't accommodate 7 after that why would they want her in the restaurant?

Listen, I hate crackers with a passion...I hope they all die..but everything is not racism. A racist establishment is not going to let some niggas in and deny others man.

They’re saying that they let some (white) people split their party under 7 and seat them but won’t do it for black people. The rule itself is stupid, but restaurants reserve the right to refuse service... especially when people act belligerent.

The video would’ve been more effective if they had shown white people splitting their party and then getting seated. All I saw was them overreacting, not so much in anything in terms of discrimination. I never ate there and didn’t have any intentions to so I respect calling them out either way. But anybody out there protesting a restaurant better damn well be out in full force for the next Atl unarmed victim of police brutality.

I would give a fuck if he was trying to take his team to a black restaurant like The Beautiful or even Kandi Burress's restaurant, but don't get mad when white folks treat you like you black.

Ive eaten at Houstons in Buckhead before Had no issues when I went. But this was over a year ago.

You can call out discrimination and teach financial literacy and independence at the same time :hmm:

A group of seven went for a birthday celebration unbeknownst to us that Houston's(some location in the video) only has booths and could not seat us together. We were discussing our options on other restaurants when THEY came to us and suggested we sit in two tables next to each other. This was during a wait as well. Another time we went there (same location) my girlfriend surprised us with an extra guest and they allowed us to sit in the booth even though we had too many people for it. Both incidents, all of us were black.

I have literally eaten at that Houston's for the last 15 years and have never had any racial issues. I also know how to act a a restaurant, and don't insult or talk crazy to anyone serving me food. I always tell anyone with me on my tab to not act stupid when I am eating at a restaurant. If I feel there is a problem or any issue I simply get up and leave. I won't beg anyone to serve me, especially in Atlanta. I can't vouch for dude on this one. Everything a'int racism, and sometimes your bad attitude can cause an establishment to not want to serve you, which is their right.

What if you didn't get a chance to even be seated to exhibit those exemplary manners you are so proud of?

And I assume you know how to be cordial to the police so you'll never have problems there either...

Summary of Facts, (for those who didn't watch the whole vid):
1. Party of 7 shows up
2. Restaurant cites policy against parties greater than 6 without advance notice/reservations
3. Party of 7 splits up and proposes seating just 4 of them (other 3 remain however)
4. Restaurant refuses, now citing aggressive behavior
5. Party of 4 states policy defies logic, as they can easily seat 4.
6. Restaurant refuses, citing same reasons (presented by a nervous guy w/ very little confidence)
7. Patrons leave and viral vid prompts protests, which now includes celebrities

My thoughts: the purpose of the policy is likely to prevent staffing issues, w/ waiters overly focused on large parties (logical). If this were 20 people, okay. But 4 +3 at alternate tables was a reasonable approach. I agree that whites would have almost certainly been seated (probably w/ 7 even, given that's the # that triggers the policy). The combative approach didn't' help and they probably did them a favor (because you definitely don't want food prepared by the very people you just argued with).

Monday Morning QB thoughts: all 4 could have just as easily walked to the bar before it got to that point (or hit up one of the many black owned restaurants in ATL). Problem solved!

they could of went to the waffle house or Ihop, there's always seats, even when there's yellow tape.

The establishment was wrong, but I'll just say this, when they have to many black people,be it eater, club, bar, event nigga's know how to fuck it up in some fashion or form and a lot of it has to do with younger folks but still.

a few of you are missing the point. I see people saying "why would you want to give them your money" or "just leave and go somewhere else". The point is, and as you can see in the vid, no one could really answer this question: if they split up into two different groups, why could they not be seated? That's what dude is trying to figure out. The yelling and arguing at the end, is kind of irrelevant. The main point is getting an answer as to why they could not be seated once they separated into two groups. So what they all came in together, what difference does that make. So if they all walk out the door, and then 4 come back and ask to be seated, then the other 3 come back and ask to be seated, they shouldn't be served?

That's all dude was trying to figure out, and the mumbling white guy and the arrogant black chic had no logical response, so they used the "aggressive behavior" as reasoning.

"Please seat me."
The fuck?

They don't want your money.
The don't want you.

The fuck are you begging for?
They gon spit in your food if they seat you.
Sounds great until you are faced with that issue with every non black business (and possibly them as well). Then what do you do?
I believe the isdue is more about the right/option to be seated and treated fairly like any other patron. Even if you decide after being given the option to say fuck you I don't want to eat in your establishment.

I make deliveries to that location...

As a chain, overrated, I have never paid to eat there anyway, and it's plenty of ethnic places to eat below in the city.o_O

Although me and my girl did greatly enjoy Bahama Breeze in Cobb County today...hadn't been in over 15 years.:o

I just believe in being transparent.:dunno:

nah black girl said nor did nothing wrong in that vid - definity wasn't arrogant
she was professional did her job and stated the policy repeatedly that they were not allowed to split the group
and offered ways they could escalate their complaints beyond her and the "manager"

but dude in the vid demonstrated many times in the restaurant and with the pigs he ain't too bright about what his rights are as a citizen nor as a consumer
(why would I go to someone like that for real estate or financial advice?)

ain't nothing to figure out - they refused his party service asked them to leave
he asked why -
they showed him policy in writing multiple times
its not on the employees to explain the management's reasoning
as was in his rights he documented the entire situation via video
did he contact the management to escalate the complaint before protesting?

businesses have the right to refuse service... especially when it violates internal policy

why argue with people that will serve your food?

If you don't want my business - fine - you will NEVeR get it in future - even if costs more I will patronize elsewhere

another thing - if you are a sophisticated person of resources -
you should know how to move and manipulate people and service employees

I would accomplish way more talking quietly to the manager away from other employees and my guests
than that scene there...

but then again his goal might have always really been to go viral - is he a real estate consultant or a hustlin attention whore?
