Kyrie Irving requesting trade out of Cleveland to find bigger role

It's one season Bruh, then he disappeared when they needed him the most. The Cavs don't win the chip without Unc. U just don't move a prime proven talent just entering his prime for potential a one year rental and a roll of the dice draft pick. Especially when that one year rental is <<< than what u gave up... :smh:

I'm just trying to get why he's being called a rental...
kyrie is a two yr rental right...Paul George is a one yr rental
Is this where we're at not by calling soon to be free agents rental when they get traded...

We agree on how great of a player Kyrie is and will be.

Im not sure I would have taken the risk of going into camp with that toxic environment.

I havent heard of a better offer made to them so far anyways.

Ain't no fucking way they could've came back with that shit floating around...kyrie ain't talking to nobody, lue putting in a new system and kyrie ain't paying attention....(I kno just wishful thoughts)

Knicks first round pick isn't guaranteed to be top 5 bruh. They don't move a commodity like KP on a roll of the dice.
It's the Nets pick. The NBA will make sure a market like New York will have the Number 1 pick next
If this deal could have been done it would have been done bruh... Nobody wants love or thompson at that price... Especially giving up a young stud like Prozingas...
its not that far fetch remember the Knicks offered Melo for Love last year and Cleveland turned it down

As of yesterday According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, New York Knicks power forward Kristaps Porzingis has emerged as “a primary target” for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they seek to trade All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, amidst reports that he wants out of The Land. KP is still on the radar.

Kyrie was under contract with them. He's also much better than him and has proven himself and Is a major reason they won their chip. To move him for a potential one and done overrated player who choked when the lights got hot and has only has one really good season isn't too bright. Kyrie and IT are two different situations. Cavs are holding an L on this one...

PG no doubt is a rental, but he's a vastly better player than IT so that's comparing oranges to apples...

Just because he is the Cavs target doesn't mean the Knicks give him up, and that article holds absolutely no weight at this point.... wack ass Phil Jackson is no longer in the big chair to do stupid shit...

Ok I get all of that...I'm just trying to understand how is Isaiah Thomas is a rental player for the Cleveland Cavilers?

always getting tender bruh... :smh:
..

Cavs weren't going to get a better deal than this at this point. They got an all star PG who averaged 29 points and 6 assists last season... they got defensive help and depth...and they got a top 5 pick likely at worst...and they got it all with everyone knowing they absolutely had to make a deal before the season started and all the major deal-making done. Both teams won with the deal.. that's not even up for debate. Both teams walked away from the table happy.

Sure it is. Overall the Cavs took an L in this and I've been very eloquent in explaining my position. We will just have to disagree on this but when IT shows himself as the one hit one dimensional wonder while Kyrie is flourishing I will most certainly bump my posts. Also, what you 'gain' defensively in Crowder IT more than cancels out with his ridiculously pitiful defensive capabilities so that's a wash.

Once LeBron leaves next year and the Cavs are stuck with watching IT leave as a one year rental or be stuck overpaying him to stay, the L the Cavs took in this deal will be much more evident

naw man. This was a Shaq and Kobe situation after the 2004 loss to the Pistons... they absolutely weren't going to play on the same squad together anymore.. it went way too far.
No doubt. But for one more season I sit on Kyrie before I accept this deal. Maybe try to move him at the trade deadline when other teams needs are more evident. This whole trade seems like a desperation move by the Cavs frankly...

They ARE desperate. If Lebron leaves, it's over and this is a last-ditch effort to keep him there. No way they were playing together during the season though . Lebron would have just left. Cavs have no leverage. This was an easier decision than getting rid of Shaq. Kobe couldn't leave but obviously they wanted to ride with Kobe. Lebron can walk whenever. Plus Kyrie wanted out because doesn't want to hitch his future to a team where Lebron might bounce at any moment. This needed to happen.

But they absolutely weren't going to play together and bringing back the same team wasn't going to help them against the Warriors anyway.

But that's all they're thinking about anyway.. one year... if Lebron leaves they're going to completely dismantle the team anyway... IT, Lebron, and Love will be gone and they'll rebuild.

This was the best they were going to get and actually Boston probably didn't need to give up that draft pick. Considering the options, they got fair value for Kyrie. They could have swung a much better deal 2 months ago though but the timing of this left them with few options.

I just seriously don't see IT as a fit. He's effective as a ball dominant player, and outside of scoring he really doesn't have a high BBIQ. There have actually been videos made detailing this. With LeBron NEEDING the ball in his hands that will mitigate what IT does best. Take away or adjust what he does best, what does IT truly give you. He is not a spot up shooter and to camp him at the 3pt like looking to get a dish makes him average.

He's a small Kyrie Irving (kyrie being better obviously) But you also get Chowder who put up 14 and 6 and is a good perimeter defender (you need that against the warriors) and his cap numbers are really good. You get a possible #1 and definitely top 5 pick. And the Cavs saved 30 Million in taxes man..

I don't see what more they were going to get on the market. All the deals were done.. if this happened earlier... yeah.. they could have made some different moves but they weren't taking this into the season..

Bottom line for those of you who don't understand

Every trade you do at this point should be to keep Lebron after this year

If that trade doesn't help you keep Lebron...it's not a good trade. Bledsoe helps you keep Lebron. Isaiah doesn't

A 19 year old player doesn't help you keep Lebron. Lebron didn't want to play with a 19 year old Wiggins. You think at 33/34 year old with one or two more runs in him he's going to want to keep carrying a team and being a father figure and teaching dudes how to win?

Compared to the bullshit Chicago and Indiana got....yes it was a good trade

But Lebron is what makes them a championship contender....no Lebron, they're going to be right back in the Anthony Bennett years

So no, it wasn't a good trade...because it's just another step out the door for Lebron

Without Lebron no playoff run

Lebron is leaving anyway fam

They did right securing what will probably be a top 5 pick

its only an L if the nets make the playoffs:giggle:
No guarantee what they get with that pick turns into better than Kyrie or even remotely in that discussion, which if IT leaves after this season it turns in to. A one year rental on an overrated lil guy, Crowder and the pick. Kyrie in my opinion is >>>> than all of that, and would have had to wait until I got a better longer term offer before I moved his ass...

Players request trades all the time... doesn't mean you have to panic and move them for 50cent on the dollar... :smh:

Name another trade that was realistically out there that they could have done better

Was one of them just going to refuse to report if not for the Shaq trade?

No need too... my whole point was, if you can't find something of comparable value, chill until the trade deadline when teams needs become more pronounced and you have the chance of getting a better deal, or just sit on it. Honestly, lets be real, they aren't winning the chip this season anyway, and Lebron is gone after this season so Kyrie wouldn't have to play with him anyway. With this desperate deal, they run the risk of going into the 2018 not having Kyrie, LeBron OR IT and what is the net result of this trade long term, Crowder and a top 5 pick... for a Top 3 PG entering into his prime at 25 years old?? Cavs played the hell out of themselves with this trade in my opinion... :smh:

He's gone because Lebron wanted him gone after he went public with the trade request (and the reasons why)...not just because he made it.
So, they are bending over backward for a Dude who is gone after this season, AND is on the wrong side of his prime to get rid of a stud who is 8 years younger and entering his prime?!?!?! Another L by the Cavs in my opinion. LeBrons ass would have to have dealt with playing with Kyrie until I found a suitable deal, and also, it was not Kyrie who went public, he went to management as he should have and word is, LeBrons camp leaked this shit to the public...

There wasn't one. Everyone made their moves and don't have the pieces or the cap space at this point.
So you wait... They will regret the hell out of this trade this time next year, maybe sooner if IT gets exposed in the playoffs like he did last season when he disappeared... :smh:

Yep not to mention if everyone hasn't noticed it seems like teams are hesitant to give up tooooo much for these players because now you have times where the player isn't willing to commit to the team long term and they don't want to trade the farm for a guy they may only have a year or two

As of now the Celtics have Kyrie for this year and next year and that's it

People say the Pacers didn't get enough for Paul George but shit he isn't signing any extensions

Unless they grab 1 or 2 and get Porter or Bagley, this will be a disaster for them because no one else in the top 5 is remotely comparable to losing Kyrie for... :smh:

Kyrie wanted out man

What current NBA player that they actually would've been able to get would be worth giving up Kyrie for???

At least they can somewhat replace the production this season and have a chance at those top guys in next years draft

When you start qualifying moves with the words 'At Least', your actually telling yourself they fucked up... You don't take 50 on the dollar just because he wanted out though. Like I said, players ask for trades all the time. Now, they can end up with Crowder and the draft in exchange for a stud PG in his prime. This will be regretted as early as mid season, and I guarantee you LeBron is bitching about personnel before the New Year... Mark my words! Bad trade for the Cavs good brother... :smh:

The trade could've been better I'm not disputing that at all, what I'm saying is I don't think it was gonna be lol

It's a lot of factors in the NBA now the good players have control on where they go the team Kyrie went to was only going to have control for 2 more seasons the deal wasn't going to get much better IMO
