Planet of the Apes poster features ape with vest similar to DeRay Mckesson

I feel you, but for them to use a blue vest, is mad insulting. Especially when you look at who/what group that blue vest has come to symbolize.

I was completely unaware of the symbolism of a blue vest before this thread and to be perfectly honest... I dont feel like this dude represents me.

But for the sake of argument lets just accept the idea that the blue vest represents this Deray guy. Is it an insult or a compliment?

Remember that Planet of the Apes is a story of rebellion and liberation. Apes in this case arent the "bad guys", its the opposite. They overcome the odds and go to war for their freedom.

I still think the clothes represents the "evolution" of the apes but even if i go with the theory it representing Deray, it might be deeper then we think.

Or maybe you over estimate them, like you think every single thing they do is some calculated move. Btw spoiler, the apes win.

Having been raised around them and having a chance to observe them...you can never underestimate the weird and twisted humor of a CAC. Especially when they get drunk...as my Father told me after being around them in the Military..."Son most of these CACs are a beer or 2 away from doing some weird or Gay Shit."

Reaching... :hmm:

What if the beings in those ufo's look like us. How would that affect the world and history as we eere fed it?
Just like they have destroyed everything that reminds us of the way we were they would destroy it and those of us that saw it. They would be afraid of us catching total recall. Everything you know either whites told you or they allowed you to know.
I believe it is blacks that may have been unchanged for billions of years. There are several theories but the main thing is keeping what is there from those who are not Nazi's or blue blood. But the proof of us being the original people of the earth is disappearing more and more. The pyramids of Egypt are the ones they allow us to know about. There were underground pyramids, there were pyramids all over the earth. They say Einstein came up with nuclear power. But there is proof that they had nuclear reactors billions of years ago. Nuclear power was used for farming. Solar energy was here billions of years ago.
If blacks memory start coming back then maybe other things will start coming back. During the 60's blacks had scared the shit out of those whites that know what is really going on. We were showing love and admiration for each other. And we were calling each other brothers and sisters as us all being one black family. Certain other things from the past also. If you take a person house and got them living in the woods or under a tent you do not want them coming into the house again and wake up for so reason talking about this is their house. Even knowing about certain things in the house that those staying there did not even know about.
One of the thing about those so called flying disk is that they say part of the operating one is telepathy or something like that. So they had some way of using their minds to do certain controlling of the the disk. Also our connection could lead to other hidden things.

He's got on boots too, according to the merchandise. Apparently, he's a very prominent, linchpin type of character in the new film. I wouldn't be surprised if there turns out to be fire to this smoke, but in my observations thus far; the parallel between he and DeRay seems like a reach.

The parallels are in the imagery used, not in the way it's played on film.

Everything in big budget films are planned. It's no accident they used a blue vest.

That shit was on purpose. If the ape wore a different coat or piece of clothing, it wouldn't have sparked debate. The color and style they chose is telling. Subliminal but not really.

Symbols are the language of the deep mind. That's why movies are the best way to program your subconcious. This is blatant occult symbolism. Similar to making the devil character in that bible series actor being an Obama lookalike.

Movies are perfect tools of mind control because you suspend disbelief going in. Your concious mind is tuned out so they're hitting you directly in the subconcious. Case in point cats are in here arguing about the meaning of the blue vest. Nobody's saying "That shit ain't real. Apes don't wear vests." Your subconcious doesn't know the difference.

Some are saying the apes are heroes. To who? To us? Because the blue vest symbolism is not directed towards you. THat's for crackas. That's for their subconcious. This is playing on their fears. It's why Trump is in office. I would put money on this blue vest ape dying a brutal death. And how subliminally how whitey gonna feel seeing their beloved Woody Harrelson brutally murdered on film? Who probably represents a Trump type character.

It's all symbolism. It's in all movies

Wasn't DeRay hand picked by liberal white people to represent the black struggle? If so then keep an eye on him and any other black person hand picked by white folks.
He got hired by Baltimore City schools a while back in some administrative position paying like 160k. He's an advocate for charter schools. So some bullshit is coming. Him being pushed as the face of BLM always seemed suspect to me. I've never seen anyone black who fucks with him.

It does look like someone photoshopped that in there as a sick joke, but it's real. :smh: And these directors just don't do shit to do it. Everything has a purpose. Why not a green vest or jacket for the concept of war? Camo? No. They went with the blue vest. :smh:

I'm betting they think they can get away with it since most white people probably don't know who DeRay is(I found that this poster was posted on Reddit in May and not one mention of DeRay), so they will back a coincidence excuse. They been getting away with this since May when the poster was released. Wow.

Blue Patagonia vest. Super popular. Google "Blue Patagonia Vest" and you'll see a ton of images.

I would suggest saving judgement until you see the movie and understand the context. Until then, all speculative.

I saw DeRay in an interview a couple weeks ago-

WHY is he still wearing the blue vest on TV in the middle of summer?
(A/C in the studio ain't that frosty...)

It's easy to understand the underlying message in this movie as soon as you see the part with Woody Harrelson explaining to Caesar that they had to exterminate the apes because they (the apes) would eventually overtake them, it's the law of nature. I'm paraphrasing that statement, but you get the gist of it, and I'm sure you've heard similar statements made about us. Look up 'The Browning of America'. Between interracial romance and the UV rays of the sun, they really don't stand a chance. Even SNL made a skit about their being no white people left by 2050 or something like that. They didn't write that into the script and have those various images for no reason at all. Some may feel it's reaching, but the title 'Planet of the Apes' itself has always been a bit of a knock. Think about it.

It reminds me of Dr. Francis Cress Welsing's similar title, "Fear of a Black Planet".

I'm glad I'm not the only one sounding crazy lol.

There's definitely a strong correlation between the plight of the Apes and the plight of black peoples worldwide.

I'm hoping this is just someone in marketing thinking they "cute"....shit like this kills my excitement for this film. Hoping this ape is not in the film and just a hidden "Easter egg" on the poster.

Nah, they knew what they were doing with this shit.

Them folks at the top know him...
