NBA offseason 2016-2017...NBA offseason best in sports....This offseason is lit to the 3rd degree!!

I think the warriors willing to let iggy walk cause they know other teams going to overpay.. thy saying they are looking at Rudy Gay plus they have McCaw..

Rudy is longer and more athletic than iggy.. defensively it's up in the air

Hate to say it.... But the rockets may have gotten to him.

The warriors can pay more with his bird rights... Than any other team. The question is will they.

I think he has 2 strong years left

it'll be a win for both iggy and the warriors

Could Gay fill Iguadola's role in GS? Being a bit younger, is there any chance he's the better option?

I don't know the market for Gay but Iguadola having the best plus-minus in the Finals makes me think they need to keep him.

Well the point is GS was/is prepared to move on from Iggy if another team overpay him..

I know but I'm wondering what that means-- How much do they lose on the court if they go for Gay? And what's even the difference between them financially? Gay was hurt last year but is younger with better numbers; I would think he'd command at least a similar amount.

Damn thats waaaaaayyyy too much for Jrue. :smh:

Gay coming off the bench would have them dudes scoring 130 nightly

McCaw. Is the replacement he just needs time to mature.

Gay will play a different role altogether.

No, 20 mil isn't as big

40 mil is big ass shit. It's almost half of your salary cap and with any 40 mil player you're pretty much guaranteed to be paying luxury tax. For a team that will never make it to the eastern finals.

The salary cap is only going to go up but so much. They snuck in with that new ESPN TV deal, now with the cord cutting you can't count on that. Hell, look at how it's 2 mil less this year than they expected.

But without Wall they dont go anywhere. He is a top 5 player in the East for sure, but for me he is top 3. He will guarantee you winning seasons every year. If you pay your own guy the super max you dont pay the same luxury tax.

Im not telling you he is a super max guy on a championship team, but for Washington he is worth it.

Gay will play a different role altogether of he comes, I don't know if gay could even be the defender Iggy is.

Nope.

But they put serious distance between them and the #3 team.

If Boston gets Hayward and Washington stands pat, next year that series goes 5 games tops.

I think bringing him in potentially stunts Tatum's growth. Their better looking for a salary dump for a player that fits better. They need a big man desperately.

Is that a sentiment based on emotion or is there a logical reason?

I think loyalty is a fine rationale, by the way. Just trying to understand where you're coming from.

You always want to go into the season with as much continuity as possible if you've just went 16-1 in the playoffs and won a championship. Now is not the time to drastically shake stuff up.
If you just blew a 3-1 lead then LOTS needs to change.
That's where I'm coming from.
Iggy gets to rest during the season basically and then come in the playoffs and be an extra defender and make open shots because when he's on the court he's not being guarded by anyone of note because of the rest of the teammates.
I think if he signs then we can continue to do great things. If he doesn't sign It's def not the end of the road but this is the perfect situation for him. Other teams are not going to be paying him to play 25 minutes a night. And if he takes the money there is absolutely no hard feelings about it nor should be from anyone.

Bum gonna be wide open when double teams come at Embiid too. Simmons and Fultz can find him open on the break. Bottom line it's a good addition for our roster. I know he ain't Steph, Durant or Harden but we were terrible at 3's last year. He will help.

Fam he will help A WHOLE LOT! He gonna make Ben, Markelle and Embiid so much better because you cant help off his man plus the drive and kick game is gonna be a problem!

I disagree with your first sentence. If Golden State hit one more shot in last year's finals to win the championship after setting the regular season record for wins, are you telling me you wouldn't want to "drastically shake stuff up" with Durant if he were still willing to sign?

I support just letting a successful core ride things out but if that comes at the expense of potentially bettering the situation, that's certainly interesting and worth discussion.

That's the thing I stewed over the shoulda coulda woulda and I got drowned out with 3-1 lead taunts. When I say Steph was on 1 leg which he was it's nah so what 3-1 lead.
So I let shoulda woulda coulda go.
we destroyed them this year 4-1 quick work and I would like to have as much of that team back as possible.

So you're a loyalist.

The 2016 finals narrative is a case of "scoreboard don't lie" obscuring reality. Even with Steph obviously hampered by injury, the extent of the decisiveness of the Green suspension is totally downplayed:

It would've been cool to see that team come back to prove it. As a fan, I get that but it is outweighed by the 2017 Warriors being even better and the historical greatness and excellence produced by the team assembled there. So if they can get better, I kind of want to see it.

However, the most special thing about them is their unselfishness and that could be undermined by penny pinching the MVP of their first championship from this run. So it could be stupid regarding unity and KD's willingness to take a paycut for AI. So doing good (being loyal) may be its own reward.

I'm all for getting better I don't know how Rudy Gay makes us better though which is my point.
I'd have to see it in action to even know what his role would be.

Shit there would be little drop off inside the 3 pt line when u sub durant out put him in...

To me dude was a smooth scorer with some range and could finish....

That second unit would be deadly cavs would have to add Melo to out due that second unit....and hope the 1st unit is bricking...
