Report: Wizards interested in sign-and-trade deal for Paul George involving Otto Porter

John Wall's wish of landing Paul George in Washington could be within reach. According to a report from ESPN, the Wizards have interest in a potential sign-and-trade deal in landing George that centers around Otto Porter Jr. and a protected draft pick.

Porter is likely to command big money in free agency after a stellar 2016-17 season, and the Wizards are seriously considering a potential one-year rental of George in favor of committing to Porter for the long haul.

George has made it clear to the Indiana Pacers that he won't re-sign when he hits the free-agent market in 2018 and prefers to play in Los Angeles, so dealing a player of Porter's caliber for George -- who could leave Washington after next season -- is a calculated risk. But it's one Wall feels could be the final piece for the rising Wizards.

"Look at our team. We are one piece away," Wall said this week. "We have the point guard, we have the shooting guard, we have the center, we have the power forward. Our 3-man [Otto Porter Jr.] did great for us. You can't take nothing away from what he did. But [George] is a guy that can guard LeBron and go back at LeBron. It's a piece that you're going to need to win. If you don't have a guy who can do that, you don't have a chance. ..."

George is set to command roughly $20 million in the final year of his deal next season, which would pinch Washington financially. But a run with a core that includes Bradley Beal, John Wall and Paul George -- with the potential to sway George to commit long-term in Washington -- could be a risk worth taking if it turns out successful.

Cavs, Lakers among those eyeing Korver

Cavaliers swingman Kyle Korver is expected to draw plenty of interest in free agency.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to make an offer to re-sign shooting guard Kyle Korver when NBA free agency begins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, according to a report from cleveland.com.

League sources told Amico Hoops the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers also have an interest in Korver. Cleveland.com added the Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans to that list.

Korver, 36, is still considered a reliable perimeter spot-up shooter who keeps himself in excellent condition.

He arrived in a mid-season trade with the Atlanta Hawks and spent 32 games with the Cavs last season, averaging 10.1 points on 49-percent shooting off the bench.

Korver’s scoring average dipped to 5.8 points per game in the playoffs.

  • In other news, league sources told Amico Hoops that the Spurs and several others have an interest in Cavs’ draft-and-stash swingman Cedi Osman. But while the Cavs have talked about Osman with several teams, they have held no such discussions yet with the Spurs, sources said.

Shiiiiiiiit

Rondo likes to have the ball and be the floor general

Kyrie likes to shoot, but can shoot and also can get to the basket at will
But he doesnt get other players involved and is a black hole on offense. Dude is allergic to assist and fucks up team chemistry

but he got them to the finals

Rondo has teammate issues, can't shoot free throws or shoot.

Players would lay off him to give him the shot while keeping an eye on Lebron...he takes away your floor space they got with JR, Kyrie and Love

Rondo would be terrible

Kyrie assists get over look mainly to his own doing, but dude had a stretch where he was dishing out like 9.7 assist per game for like two weeks or so....

Again I do understand shit I even overstand but dude can dish out dimes...problem is he probably finish better with a two defenders on him than the next person will with one person on them...

And for all his highlights he hurt them in the finals. A lof of players who struggled would thrive with Rondo because he gets his teammates involved. After Kyries 15th dribble everybody including Stevie Wonder knows he shooting. Rondos pass first mentality is just what the Cavs need not to mention his defense which most of the time Kyrie has no interest in. No team can consistently win against a great team when you PG has 30 pts and 2 assist :smh:

Bruh good PGs avg that shit for a season. Your post is more of an indictment against him than a positive... check out his finals assist....

Kyrie is a great offensive talent and nothing else. He fucks up chemistry and is a huge liability on defense because most times he doesnt give a fuck

by hogging the ball for 20 seconds

Cleveland doesn't need that, they have Lebron who is the floor general
At least hes looking to pass when he does that shit and LeBron is not a PG which contributes to him being tired as fuck because he has to cover so much of what others dont do including Kyrie

Rondo will be a good third guard on a team live the Cavs. I would not start him but he can still contribute but he must have slashers and shooters on the floor with him because he shoots like shit.

That can be tweaked. I expect the Cavs to have a new offensive look next season. They need to let Lue go. He will be fine on the market with his resume. He is not what the Cavs need to beat GS
