Mom's used to make me read 20 mins daily during the school year and an hour during the summer and write a summary on what I read from around 3rd grade up until the 8th grade. She took me to the library and I picked stuff I liked to read. I'm still an avid reader now till this day. It's good "Food" for the brain.

Shit starts at home. My mother read to me when I was young. I was interested in Astronomy, and she read shit to me I know she didn't care about simply cause I did. Once I learned the alphabet, I started struggling to read the same books at 4-5 years of age. Parents need to read to children, but in this era, parents are lazy as fuck and the children suffer.

I get what you are saying, but realistically we do need some form of standardizing just to be able to measure peoples comprehensive ability..
Think of it this way, with out a form of standardization teachers wouldn't have to teach your kids shit and pass them to make themselves look good, and if they are pressed and questioned why is it their kids cannot read, all they would have to say is that in their opinion their kids read fine..
In other words, standardization is to my best knowledge, the best way to gauge our children ability to perform intellectually, how ever nothing is perfect and more studies by black should be conducted to determine why we are having problems with these test, is it due to cultural bias or poor training, a combination of both or perhaps something different.
Nevertheless the canary in the cave alarm has been set off and a complete audit of how blacks are educated should be conducted to get to the bottom of the problem.
Parents have to work 3 jobs to make ends meet.
Part of the problem is many of the mothers cannot read themselves and they tend to be the ones having the most children, this becomes a cycle that produces more and more under performing children.. Then again, this was the plan all along..

No but there is an accord or agreement on what should be basic necessities to reading and understanding... Now let me digress by saying, the reason why we have school is to rank and file students according to their ability to perform certain task, these task are usually govern by the top employees and what they want from their work force.
So the object of these test are not to judge the children but rather to rate them in comparison to the other kids... And as long as white people are doing the hiring they are the ones that are going to dictate who they deem worthy of employment at least based off what they think the fundamentals of comprehension..
Getting back to the main issue, as long as there are other kids passing those same examinations with flying colors, and then later on going to to perform to expectations both on jobs and in higher education institutions, then this system of standardization will remain in tact..
But also ask yourself this question if not standardization what other method of ranking children fairly is there, what woukld you replace these test with..
Even if everything you say is true, that doesn't explain why blacks are reading worse than all others. Why do Indians, Chinese, hispanics all read at a higher level than blacks? There has to be more to it than whites. It also has very little to do with intelligence. There are several underlying factors that keep us behind the ball. The problem is most people gal into that criteria so they are less inclined to embrace the cold hard truth.
I am not saying anything is true or not, all I am saying is that we have to spend more effort and time getting to the real answers as to why black children a scoring so low, and less time arguing about the standardize themselves..

Now if you want to find out why a person is batting worse, a thorough and unbiased investigation should be conducted, but as in the cases of most black people education, getting a unbiased assessment on why our educational system is failing our people is almost impossible, especially when you factor in, what I've always been saying, that the system (not educational system either) is doing exactly what its designed to do...

For example, I'm a special ed teacher. Many of our Black boys go undiagnosed and would excel if their learning disabilities were assessed.
But many of them are not LD. The teachers are racially biased. I've seen it with my own eyes - especially in the more rural places of Cali.

This I disagree with. The parents have equal responsibility. However if a child is falling behind, the teacher needs to bring it to the attention of their parents. Most do not know what is normal, behind or above average in relation to other children. A love of reading was instilled in me early on. I have 3 book cases full of books, and crates full that I can't fit in the book cases, as well as thousands I've downloaded. Whenever we had an argument growing up, the set of encyclopedias is how we often resolved who was right and who was wrong. The environment was always there to encourage my reading.
I do recall my mom saying one of my brothers was falling behind in reading and teachers wanted to put him in a special ed class. She refused and worked with him to bring his reading up.
These days, it can be easier to access books for children. In addition to the brick and mortar libraries available, they often have free ebooks that can be downloaded for 21 days. If your child has a tablet or smartphone, they can get access to books without even leaving the house.
It is documented fact that black children are scolded for the same things white children are encouraged to and praised for doing. (Asking questions out of turn shows interest and excitement for white children, lack of respect and rudeness if it is a black child.) Our kids are often beaten back from learning and participating, they pick up on bad attitudes and hostility toward them, even if they haven't been verbally berated. They can also detect "fairness" and can see how their behavior is punished while white children aren't for the same behavior. Speaking up against rightfully perceived differences can get them labeled as a problem child. We've also seen videos of teachers in classrooms lately of teachers just doing foul shit. This stuff has gone on for years, but we just now have video surfacing to prove it.
I'm not familiar with that program, but any program needs to have supplemental reading. It also needs to be on going. We had custody of my nieces for a while when they were little. They were doing very well in school. At night I'd have them read to me. They were probably 4-5 when their mom got custody of them back and it was several months before they came to visit where I could spend time with them. They couldn't recognize words they had learned before, they had totally regressed. I was pissed. It wouldn't be so bad but their mother was an avid reader also. I don't ever recall seeing her spend time with them encouraging them to read. They are grown and both read a lot of books now, but their spelling and writing skills leave much to be desired.
Which one do you recommend then. My niece used it when she was a baby and she's in advanced reading classes now.

Spanish speaking kids are also out performing AA youth.

Do what's best for your seed, I haven't seen anyone on this board say they are a reading specialist, but I do see a lot of bull shit specialists.
It's simple, read to your seed every night, have books around the house, champion literacy daily, don't t all all that ebonic bullshit around your seed, Read to your kids, have them read to you It;s not rocket science but when you steady getting handouts from the government people lose sight of things that are really important
