In the beginning it was the place to bond and make sex dreams come true , made you happy to be young and Black. Then it got way out of hand, dudes were raping chicks, robbing brothers , fights every 1/2 hour, mass stealing out of stores and stopping all trafic . Atlanta tried to bring it back and it was twice as bad. It has been canceled again

Got "detained" for fighting. All they had was those zip ties because so many people had been arrested. They piled us into an ambulance and drove us a few blocks and let us go. Told us that was our warning. Jails must have been or some shit. It was my first and last one. As said above, rowdy ninjas ruined it for everybody.

If I recall correctly, the news media didn't report on what really happened, probably because it would have gotten the police department in trouble or something. Lawsuits would have been pouring in, so they weren't going to corroborate their stories.

It didn't start out that way. It was a small gathering at Ebster Park (IIRC), where the Greeks had picnics and just chilled. Yeah, some shit jumped off later on, but it was mostly chilled. Then word got out, and the local youngsters and promoters got involved, and it was all down hill from there. Thirst ran unchecked, and niggas didn't know the meaning of "No". I had some of THE best times of my life during the height of it. If you weren't there, I don't know what to tell you, and there's some shit I can't tell you!
All of this "bring it back" talk needs to be deaded. Let it lay. Just before Freaknik (I never could go because I always had some shit to do, dammit), they had Greekfest in VA Beach, till that got shut down.

Was in school in TN and use to go, my only regret wish I had some dough. Was always on the outside looking in to me lol. Went down there on a shoe string budget. One night slept in the Suburban we rented. We did have couple chicks in there too but still lol,.
