2017 CHICAGO BEARS Off-Season Thread

another tough loss
but they were competitive

DE rookie Leonard Floyd looks like the a real deal
I like the way he was pursuing to the ball
Extra motor on almost every play

I haven't watched much lately. Is Matt Barkley doing as well as his numbers suggest, or is it a bunch of safe passes inflating/rewarding a QB not taking any chances. (Kyle Orton)

Naw he's doing ok. They could have won this game. Even though us losing isn't bad, I wanted to beat Detroit.

It's saying something the team hasn't given up on Fox. I'm not sure if I'm ready to fire him.

He wasn't pace guy

Best believe if sean Payton is available pace will bring him back home

They were very competitive, they look like they have a little talent now. Floyd has been balling as of late, he's all over the field. Howard looks good as well and Barkley has shown me he is a capable backup. I still need them to lose out and for Jacksonville to win one more game, then the Bears would end up with the #3 pick in the draft, Jabril Peppers would be a great addition to that defense.

He should be 3-0 at this point. Hasn't set the world on fire but hasn't fucked up at a Cutler level either and had protected the ball for the most part.

had a chance to hurt the Packers playoffs hopes, and u allow a 60 yard pass with under 1:30 left.
:smh:

These ninjas need to kill themselves.....

I think the youngin deserves a shot at the starting job next year. They should bring in a mid round QB...... MAYBE.

Mid round in round #2? Cause the Bears getting a #4 or #5 pick in the 1st round.

As for Barkley......he's actually played great during the games that he's started. And he's been doing it with a receiving corp full of guys who would normally be 5th and 6th stringers. He could have had a few GREAT games if it wasnt for all the dropped balls.

The fact that Alshon didnt get involved until the final mins of the 4th quarter was confusing to me. Barkley hit Alshon with like 4 straight bombs ( go-ahead TD included).

That shit with Rodgers and Jordy was some bs. The defensive formation was bs as well. We have coaching issues. And that was made obvious earlier in the season when we got in the redzone like 1 million times and couldnt run a scoring play.

Well BEAR fans, we really didnt have to wish this team to tank this season.
With former GM weirdo phil emery draft picks and the bean-counter ceo-ted phillips
making awful football decisions; it was inevitable for the BEARs to finish 3-13 this season.

Next years schedule is somewhat easier...imho. ATL, Steelers, Bengels, Vikings etc stand out....but those teams are beatable if you have a decent defense.

If everyone stays healthy....and the Bears draft we'll again (did great drafting Leonard Floyd & Howard)...and they get legit pieces in the FA market....and the coaches (mainly on offense) get their shit together...we should be much improved next year.

We'll see how it goes!

BEARS!!!!!!

Floyd had two concussions this season which worries me greatly. I hope his offseason is one of healing because he could be a stud.

Cutler's time is up. Fuck all this bridge year for 2017 I keep hearing about and getting a QB in 2018; this franchise can't move on from the disaster that was Lovie's firing, Trestman's hiring, and Cutler's re-up. Like mentally he's a drain plus now he's missing significant time; time to cut bait and cast another line.

I am hopeful for next season. The coaching was decent but the team lacked the talent to turn some of those games in W's. With talent the Bears should be in the wildcard hunt next season. Go Bears!

Well DA BEARS have the 3rd overall pick in this years draft.
They havent drafted this high in over 45 years
according to the Tribune

Some are suggesting they go for something other than a QB. I honestly dont know much about college players because i dont watch college ball, but they say the QB's in this draft arent exactly "STUD" players.

Maybe the Bears should go defense. Or they might trade the pick. I read some shit about them maybe trading picks for the Pats Jimmy Garoppolo. But that was from some random article that doesnt hold much weight.

They need not draft a QB in the 1st round unless its the guy I have at #3 overall. Get BPA with a top 5 pick. Doesn't matter what the position. Pick the best there.

I've been watching college football and mock drafts since like week 5. My board:

#1 Jonathan Allen. 2nd best player in the draft imo but its close b/w him and Myles Garret (Garrett will be gone already)

#2 Mailk Hooker Safety. (draws comparisons to Ed Reed of all people)

#3 Jonathan Allen (if he comes out. Hes a redshirt sophomore 6'5" think of a more mobile Flacco)
No highlight reel.... kid plays for Wyoming. lol

Yep, I agree get the best possible player at that spot. The Bears need talent and impact wherever it can be found.

If any BEARS fan or outside observer wonder on why the BEARS team
hasn't won a super bowl in over 31 years

I introduce to you EXHIBIT M, R & S, which stands for moronic, retarded and
stupid management by the mccaskeys and bean-counter teddy phillips.
They absolutely have no idea and are out of depth on how to run an NFL franchise.

The Chicago Bears and quarterback Mike Glennon have mutual interest.

Ian Rapoport‏ of the NFL Network reported Tuesday the Bears are expected to make a "major push" for Glennon, who considers Chicago his "preferred spot."

The Bears are looking to move on from Jay Cutler under center. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported in mid-February the front office had started seeking trade partners. Rapoport added the quarterback is considering retirement as well.

Glennon won't come cheaply, though.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reported the 27-year-old NC State product is expected to receive $14-15 million annually. The Jets, Texans, Broncos, Rams and 49ers headline the teams looking to upgrade at QB this offseason. The Bills could join the list if they release Tyrod Taylor.

Meanwhile, Bleacher Report's Jason Cole noted the Bucs offered Glennon $8 million per season to back up Jameis Winston.

In December, Glennon told Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times he's enjoyed his four years with the franchise, but he wanted to see what else was available:

I've had a great time here in Tampa, and we'll see what happens. It's exciting. I'm looking forward to an opportunity, but we'll see what happens. It's been great to see the team grow and get better. I've had a great relationship with [head coach] Dirk [Koetter] and Jameis and all the quarterbacks. Dirk's doing a great job here, and we have a close relationship. I'm excited for what's to come, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.

Glennon has an 84.6 passer rating through 21 appearances, with 30 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

Depending on what happens with Taylor in Buffalo and the Cowboys' Tony Romo, however, the 6'6'' signal-caller could be considered the best QB on the market this offseason. His stock is also bolstered by a limited group of draftees at the position.

Glennon's biggest key moving forward with the Bears or elsewhere will be improving his accuracy. He completed just 59.4 percent of his throws during his time in Tampa, more than two points below Cutler's career mark.

Typical Bears! They would do something like this, it makes not fucking sense plus Glennon is trash. I've seen nothing to lead me to believe that he is a franchise QB. Just start Hoyer and draft a Qb.

Couldn't post link for some reason!

So we gonna pay premium $ for Glennon, Stephon Gilmore and Wagner.... This franchise boy... Lord jesus.

Ill wait till Thursday, but paying Glennon more than Cutler is just mind blowing. They better not reach for one of these rookie QBs at #3. I swear to GOD. He better pick Hooker, Adams or BPA.

Me and my brothers are die hard Bears fans but I told my brother today that they making it extremely hard to keep being a Bears fan. Paying Glennon 14 or 15 million a year is just flat out dumb. That deal better be where they can get out of it after a year, if not......:smh::angry: It's like they are in panic mode, I thought they hired Pace to build through the draft. His first mistake was not drafting a Qb in the last two drafts. Now here is another mistake, if Glennon was a franchise QB he would have been starting for the Bucs a long time ago. Man I can't take this shit anymore....:smh::angry::smh:

Exactly man!! Something is going on with the front office again. They said they wanted to build through the draft but Im hearing that their jobs could be in jeopardy if they don't show results this next year.... WTF? I mean shit is crazy. Good NFL teams are STABLE. Stability with the GMs, the coaches and the nucleus of the players. That shit doesn't happen in Chicago. Never will until we get new management.

Nah you have to move on from Cutler psychologically as a franchise and for the fan base if nothing else. He's never improved and the first INT he throws in 2017 someone might charge the field trying to get at him.

I'm actually good with Glennon provided that top-3 pick is a stud or they trade it for more picks and fill the holes at safety and corner.

COT DAYUM, you cant be serious mike fucking glennon.
Really? REALLY???
:fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay:
When i hear that name glennon, I think of the great Bears QB carousel
years ago.
moreno, burris, quinn, furrer, hutchinson, senstrom, pt willis, cade mcnown
mirer, krenzel, collins and now fucking glennon

As a BEARS fan, excuse me while I
