I always thought it was Magic that was really advising Dr. Buss after West left....but we'll see.

Maaaan, I bet it gonna be quiet as hell at that Buss table for the next major holiday.

Why he still Co-Owner?

People acting like he was removed from the building.

CAC just goes back to golfing and chilling in the background

The best thing Jim did was not hire Phil. He got that one right at least.

If he didn't want the job, he wouldn't have taken the job. He didn't bother to step down despite the fact that the Lakers have been subpar since he took over. You take something from somebody that they wanted, and they will not like you very much.

It obvious Jennie got the business gene and Jim got the lifestyle gene from their father.

The Lakers were a toy to this rich ass CAC. Jennie been doing all the work and making decisions for years.

He just finally back to were he should have stayed from the beginning.

All my boys who used to call themselves "lifelong" Laker fans (we're all early 30s), are now just "Kobe fans"

:lol: :lol::rolleyes:

I always maintained I was a Kobe fan.

I became a Kobe fan in 1995 after I saw him in a basketball tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. He just happened to play for the Lakers.

Nah not true pimp; i used to think like that also but there are so many good great players in management positions and they have been successful; from Bill Russell to Larry Bird; people hate on Isiah but that man had a great eye for talent; that dude draftedsome good players; i think magic will be fine.....

Well Bill was a LONGGGGG time ago
Bird never won anything so I can't say he's been successful, Isaiah didn't either.
Isaiah has a good eye BUT not at the GM or Coach level. Maybe a consultant level
All GM's or bigtime coaches were role players. They know the fight and effort needed.

Dear Magic,

Get Griffin in free-agency and trade whoever for either Dame Lillard or Demar Derozen.

Thanks

So success is only measured by chips now??:hmm:; Bird as a coach and gm went to the eastern conference finals a few times; went to the finals as well; Pacers has been a #1 seed and won their division on him as a coach and gm; I can say thats pretty darn good and is winning something; GM Jerry West was a role player:hmm:?? Who has been more successful then him?? Bird was a role player:hmm:; McHale was a role player :hmm:; Doc Rivers wasnt a great player, but he was more than a role player; was also an all star; Hes not a successful coach:hmm:; Isaiah drafted as NY gm: Trevor Ariza, David Lee, Wilson Chandler, Nate Robinson ; I would say thats pretty good; he drafted as Toronto GM Damon Stoudamire and Tracy McGrady; I would think some team name hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Sacramento could use his drafting skills; Again Isiah did some things right as a GM; Most players that are good/great dont participate in coaching or management roles; but when they do most of them do decent to well....

With all do respect
West is the best out of the group. He played mostly in the 60's and talent was much different then
so to me MOST of the players from that era were just hard workers and less athleticism and skill. IMO
As far as Bird...Again...He didn't WIN anything. He WON'T win anything. Yes, I measure success by accomplishments.
I live in NYC, Not a Knick Fan but if you a GM or Coach in NY for 20 years with No Championships you out a job.
Maybe in Indiana they are more sympathetic cause he's from French Lick IDK
McHale ain't win nothing
Doc was a ROLE player IMO...He ain't win nothing either though
Again, Isaiah did SOME things right....but more things wrong. He the one that started the Knicks on their spiral
by giving Jerome James a contract, Eddy Curry....Firing Larry Brown...Trading for Steve Francis...TOO MANY TO LIST Bro...hahaha

Traded him to the Rockets for Corey Brewer and first round pick
Finally, they got another guard who can create his own shot. Plus he's insurance for an injury prone Gordon. Brewer was terrible this year so I'm glad they got rid of dude.

Doc was a role player:hmm:and he didn't win nothing even though he won a chip with the Celtics as a coach:hmm:which is exactly what we are talking about...u live in NY which is a terrible city for bball..and Isiah was alot better than the shit u have had after him..and again name all of the great players that have went on to coach or gm; the majority have been successful....

OK I forgot about that but to me he was a ROLE player.
He only was an all-star ONCE (13 years), No stand out stats...EVER. Convince me he was a "great" or "Elite" Career = 10.9 ppg & 5.7 ast.
and you calling him....what..?
However, all that reinforces my first statement.
ALL those people....How Many WON something as compared to all the greats that
were GM's Coaches etc that ain't won shit? WAYYY off huh?

I feel ya; but wouldnt a better comparison would be to see how many good/great players have went on to be a gm or executive or coach; and see what type of career they had compared to each other?? I mean there hasnt been that many that have went into those fields right; so comparing them to the others wouldnt give you an accurate assessment; wouldnt you agree???

So rumor is Magic took Jennie out to dinner right after her difficult break up with Phil.

Earning Johnson. All star on and off the court.

Seems like Jim Buss had gotten a great trade offer for Boogie and NEVER told his sister or Magic about.

Instead ALL employees that were aware of this potential deal were FIRED.

And Magic was made president.

Drop the basketball and don't forget the cannoli.
