It was a shitty Rumble. So tired of Strowman and Reigns.
 
Rumble was weak. I would have booked Brock and Goldberg to eliminate like 10 people together then undertaker to eliminate them then have Sting interfere and eliminate taker. Samoa Joe at # 30
Kurt a surprise entrance at #1 and Finn the demon to win the whole thing
 
Of all the matches since Taker went part time, this match-up with Roman promises to be awful unless they go ahead and let Roman tell the fans to go fuck themselves and declare war on Taker tonight. Most of the people who cheer for Reigns don't have an attachment to Taker like a lot of the older, deep behind the scenes wrestling fans do, so you can't risk having your company's GOAT turn heel against a guy that 50 percent people like/50 percent people hate.

Makes no damned sense.

I want Reigns to go full on heel. Fans want to boo him, WWE minus whale embrace that shit. Have him mess up someone who's well liked, like Sami Zayn's, chances at winning the title against Owens, and have him cut a heel promo similar to his cousin the Rock.

Shit writes itself.
 
I really not feeling the results of this whole show.
  1. Cena going over on AJ only highlights that Vince still doesn't faith in AJ's drawing power as champ. He let him hold the title for months, but was quick to put it back on Cena for Mania season.
  2. Who did Sasha piss off backstage? She was just the face of the women division like a month ago, and now she's getting jobbed out on the pre-show.
  3. The Club wins the tag titles :yes::yes::yes: .... on the pre-show :(:(:(
  4. Y2J snuck brass knuckles to the ring for Owens .... in a no-DQ match :confused: It's no-DQ, Owens could have brought them to the ring himself.
  5. I like that they had Cena hit like 5 AA's to take Styles down. It kinda protects AJ to shows that Cena had to get pushed to the limit to beat him. Even though I still would have like to see Styles win again.
  6. WTF are they doing with Goldberg and Brock and how did they talk Brock into looking like a chump twice in a row.
  7. [fantasy booking] Goldberg quickly eliminates Brock. Brock hits the floor and starts laughing before looking up at Goldberg with murder in his eyes. Then Brock re-enters the ring and DESTROYS everyone. It doesn't matter that he has already been eliminated. At this point, he's not there to win, just to destroy and conquer. Brock destroys Goldberg and then waits for the next entrant to dump him out of the ring before leaving and laughing all the way up the ramp. [/fantasy booking]
  8. If Taker wasn't going to win the match, why even have in the match? And if you're not turning Reigns, why have him eliminate Taker?
  9. And speaking of Reigns, they probably think that they're so smart having him come out as #30. What's the fastest way to get people to cheer for Orton winning .... make it look like Reigns is going to win, so that they'll cheer anyone whoever else is in the ring.
  10. And why the fuck was Reigns in the Rumble to begin with? He just got done fighting for a title. What if he had won???? No logic there.
  11. [fantasy booking] Have AJ go over on Cena. Have the Club cheat this time so that Cena doesn't come off looking weak. Then have Joe come out as #30 and win the Rumble. Now the stage is set for AJ/Joe for the WWE title at Mania. That would show that Vince is finally ready to start pushing guys who the crowd wants, even if he didn't create the person. And AJ & Joe work well with each other and have put on 5 stars matches before. [/fantasy booking]
 
No old school surprise entrant killed it for me ,
but remember the first ever Royal Rumble the winner was announced (by mistake ) before it took place later in the evening (October 4,1987)
so I cant complain

I remember seeing that on USA Network, Prime Time Wrestling.

Yeah, it wasn't the first RR, but it was the first televised, so by that, it was the first any of us saw.

No Duggan won the first one. It took place in Hamilton, Ontario on 1/24/88. Him and One Man Gang were the finalist and Duggan won when Gang charged at him and Duggan pulled down the top rope and Gang's momentum sent him crashing to the floor. I had it on VHS. In fact the first two in the ring were Tito Santana and Bret Hart. Big John Studd won the second Royal Rumble.

Edit: My bad Boricuapower:cool:. Duggan won the first televised rumble. So OMG did win the non televised one previous to it.

Well, logically it would've been Owens.

That's why they usually have the title match before the Rumble, so if they want, they can still put the loser of the title match in the Rumble, as if it's his last chance to main event Wrestlemania.

2012, they had Dolph lose to Punk in the WWE title match, then DZ was #18 in the Rumble. and Big Show lost to Daniel Bryan for the other title, and he was #30.

But if they really wanted him to be in the main event of Wrestlemania, they would've just gave him a rematch next month and have him carry the title to WM. So obviously they had other plans for Reigns, Reigns/Taker, and they only put Reigns at 30 so he could be a big name to close the match and set up his WM match.

Well, I haven't been following the stories, so I don't know who's main eventing Smackdown these days, but one of Cena and AJ should face Orton, so I'm thinking Cena vs. AJ won't be a WM title match, unless they're going to set-up a Triple Threat for the title at WM.

Because I would think they would just let AJ and Orton be the main event, and then use Cena to be a big name for another match, but Smackdown seems so low on main eventers, they would have to bring in somebody to face Cena or have him face somebody like Bray Wyatt.

But since they're splitting the card with Raw, a Triple Threat match at WM would be my guess.

Or maybe Cena/AJ does happen if they're setting up Orton vs. Bray (c)

It's my understanding that Orton can choose who he wants to face, the WWE Champion (Cena) OR the Universal Champion (Owens).


Regardless, it made no sense to have Reigns in there. It was just booking by the seat of their pants, without any thinking on WWE's part.

No Ssurprise entrants like every year, no Angle, no Balor, no Samoa Joe, no surprises at all.
 
The beef fans have with Roman is silly. He's pretty much a heel now anyway. No point in turning him. Only reason to turn him heel is if you're trying to turn him face lol. That's how these new fans are.

I don't get it lol. I got Cenas hate. From him pandering to the child fan, constantly getting title runs.....maybe I'm just out of touch man but it seems like know they boo him because it's the cool thing to do. He's a good wrestler, mic skills aren't the best but they aren't Orton bad.
 
I understood the hate for Roman when he came back from that injury and they forced him ahead and had him try to be a different person. But now the boos are silly.

Which is y they should make him heel . He should be the worse heel of all time. Have him be on some jake the snake slapping Elizabeth heel stuff. Then have him form a stable of him The Usuos and Samoa joe as the enforcer. Problem solved. Roman has the look and the talent it's just that he was packaged wrong. He's not a super baby face like John Cena.
