Official 2016-2017 Dallas Cowboys Thread

People are saying Tony could run the offense better, my question is how? This team has 28 pts on the board, what could Tony possibly do better than Prescott? Prescottis certainlyin the runningfor Rookie of the Year.

This the thing people want deep balls and quick scores. Romo gives you that. And there's going to be a time when we are going to need a deep pass when people load the box on us.

This team or defense doesn't need quick scores. Deep balls. They are being coached perfect. Running the ball and picking apart teams underneath.

Romo is the better QB but i'm not sure if we are better with him if that makes sense.

Only thing I can say is Tony attacks down the field a little more but I don't really know if that's cuz they are coaching Dak not to or what

Either way the offense seems to be workin just fine as is

Yeah I don't think they are telling him not to go down field.....they don't want him to lose games and going down field increases that risk. I think with more experience we will see Dak do that.

Nah you can't do that. Yes they both are ass but at least Dalton is actually a competent starting QB.

If we compare QB bad performances team to team you could never get a true reading on who's good and who's not.

He isn't competent though. The weapons around him have been out of this world. And the defense has saved his ass. This motherfucker has won a game where he threw for 60 yards and no td's before.
2 years ago was the 1st time he threw a playoff td and he had been playing at home the previous ones.
he is ass. he is the reason bengals haven't gone further in the playoffs.

That's all. restricting him but honestly you don't NEED to do that shit. that wasn't how yall went 13-3 the other year either lol. It wasn't air raid. It was run the ball with demarco play action and complete.
same shit yall doing this year. running hides the defense and they get to focus on getting stops.

I know the Bengals really miss Tyler, Marvin etc

Behind one of the best lines that you've seen in the last 5 years.

That Cowgirl defense is still suspect tho. Shame that some of their most talented defensive players are in jail or rehab more than they are on the field.

There's nothing suspect about it. We know what this defense is. Its what its always been. Bend but don't break. Maybe with more playmakers it will get better but right now the hope is that its good enough to compete. Thus far it has been.

You're right he is the reason they haven't won a playoff game but he still competent, and def more so than blain gabbert. His weapons have been good outside of AJ who is great but let's not act like he had 3 probowl receivers. Shit Carson Palmer had better weapons then Andy with Chad TJ and Chris Henry.

And with this post I'm done defending Andy Dalton.

Bend don't break IS suspect tho famo

Run the ball like this you can get away with that tho

disagree. hill,bernard,aj,sanu,gresham,eifert.
but we're distracting from this thread.

They had to know that coming in

Our front 4 playing well

Carr and Mo holding their own as well despite the penalties
Our team has been crazy against number ones. I don't know if it's just coincidence or what but it's been about 2 years since a elite receiver has weeny off on us.

Man, if Gregory and Ro Mac did smoke and do lean, this D could be something.
Ryan Davis and Tank looking decent

What I mean is that there's no mystery to it. Suspect would imply that we not really that good as we look. This defense has been the same defense we've seen for the past 3 or 4 years. Since Maranelli has been dC. I said this offseason when everyone was saying we were going to give up 30 a game.....naw. We never have despite having this same level of talent. Maranelli's philosophy is bend but don't break and it fits with what they do on offense. I'd like more turnovers and plays but not going to happen until we get more playmakers on D.

I been keeping a eye on Davis. He low-key might be our 2nd best defensive linemen or he at least has probably the best resume of our d-line. I think he had 8 sacks last year?

Confidence is everything.
Look at Mo man.

With Mo....when you think about it......I don't think he's ever had a training camp. As long as he's been in the league. Have we ever seen him in preseason? Getting reps? He's going from hurt and then running into the regular season to play where he'd eventually get hurt. I think that preseason has helped him and his confidence.

Naw, he's had 8 sacks in the past 2-3 years. I think he was situational player for Jax.

True.
He'd always be reported to be playing well in training camp then he would get hurt and be out for half of it and all of preseason.
Then he would start regular season and be rusty. His poor play early would have him playing poor the rest of the season

Yeah i'm looking now......he had 6.5 sacks two years ago and 3.5 last year..........with no games starting. That shit is probably better than anyone on this team lol.

Yep like clockwork and low-key dude was solid before he got hurt last year. I remember going against Julio and them other dudes and Claiborne was killing it. For those that say preseason means nothing and ain't shit....he's a prime example that it is.

So yall still want Ramsey or Myles??

I'm not investing that high in no hybrid/corner who they don't know what position he will play. I think Ramsey going to be solid but not for this team that's "bend but don't break".

Myles Jack? This dude been non-existent. Who knows how he would've been here but I always liked what we did in the draft.

You wish there was a elite linebacker or pass rusher there in that 1st round but there wasn't. Zeke was in a league of his own with what was left at that #4 spot. Him and Tunsil. They made the "Safe" pick. Just like they did with Zach Martin.

There was no elite linebacker there but they MAY have got one with Jaylan in that 2nd round. You just gotta hope and pray.

But they've damn near fucked around and hit on that whole draft.

They like Jackson the running back.
Anthony Brown is out here making plays at corner. That's a 6th round pick.
Dak.
Zeke.
Maliek Collins out here starting already.
Rico Gathers......a clear project but they like what they have there.
Kavon Frasier......they seem to like him. Hasn't made that impact yet though.

That's a great draft right there.

Then you have the guys who have potential to be starters but are hurt.

Charles Tapper......he was the one I was most excited bout. Big, fast and physical defensive linemen with 4.5 40 speed........I don't know where he's at with his back but man I hope he gets that sorted out.

Jaylan Smith.......he's the elite linebacker/pass rusher we been begging for. Its all about waiting for that nerve to fire up.

That's a great ass draft man. Still early but its paying off already.

Four of those guys are starting for a 4-1 team. Let that shit sink in for a second.

Here's some reports on our draft when they happened:

This one is the greatest:

With their second selection in the fourth round the Cowboys made yet another puzzling decision, grabbing Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott is such a huge project that I can’t see him ever being anything more than a backup who occasionally shows flashes. Dallas isn’t a franchise that likes to rebuild and develop and I think the Cowboys could have gotten someone who will actually contribute sometime soon at that spot. Even if they were set on grabbing a quarterback at that pick, Brandon Allen and Cardale Jones (another project, but a better one) were both still on the board.

Romo has to play lights out for him not to lose his position and lights out means no less than a NFC championship game.

Yeah....I mean I think either way this might be Tony's last year. He might give it one last go this season and that might be it. He's going to be crippled by 40 if he keep this up.
