Hillary Clinton to Young Black Voter Asking About Diversity: ‘Why Don’t You Go Run For Something

Firstly, Your lack of respect for vets are proving to show me that you really don't care about them because you can't relate to them. Like I said before you wouldn't know how I feel about them the same way cause you never served so that debate is sealed and closed on that matter.

Secondly, ok let me answer your question.

I don't know what McCain or anybody else could have done differently cause they weren't elected DUH!

But it's a fact that since Obama has been in office the homicide rates in a lot of the inner cities have risen. That's a fact!

Homicide rates have been declining for years.

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Justic...st-point-in-decades.-Why-America-is-safer-now

So I've shown that homicide rates are down following a decades long trend and we are in agreement that none of the other candidates would have done anything more to address specifically the needs or desires of black people, correct?

Ok but can you actually back up your statement with facts and not just you saying it's a fact?

This article shows otherwise

She is right. What is to prevent any of us here to try to get in to public office to attempt to make real change?
Maybe she should sponsor a workshop of how to navigate the process so that we don't start blind. Talking without real action is bullshit.
Do you know how local politics work? There are 99 counties in Pennsylvania. For anything to be accomplished in Philadelphia, I have to not only go to Harrisburg, I have to convince assholes from the other 98 counties to see things my way. It's a ducking waste of time.

Gotta start somewhere or nothing will ever happen.

Interesting.

OK. I'm going to go back and address the main point we've been discussing then I'll get to Breitbart.

You hate Hillary so much now that I'm assuming you didn't want her elected 8 years ago either, so lets theorize what would have most likely happened under a McCain presidency.

Had McCain been running against Hillary, most of the racial animosity would not have surfaced, so lets assume he was running against Obama and won. White nationalism was already surfacing at the McCain/Palin rallies. Some reminders of what was going on back then:

Now, Obama and McCain became symbolic of the black-white racial struggle and were basically being used as surrogates for white people against black people. So a win for McCain against Obama would not have been seen just as a win over Obama, it would have been seen in their minds and represented to others as a win over black people in general, and keeping black people in their place. So even had Obama lost, we would not necessarily have avoided the racial backlash that has surfaced, as McCain's win may have emboldened them even more coming off a victory high.

Furthermore, we know the auto industry was on the verge of collapse at that time. The GOP wanted to make an example of unions and the management of those companies and were against the restructuring/bailout. We would have lost a manufacturing base which is one of the few that we have left. We also would have lost other related jobs:

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=6278396&page=1

http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/17/how-many-jobs-depend-on-the-big-three/?_r=0

It's a known fact that black unemployment is always higher than the national average. Had we lost all those jobs, black people would have suffered the most, and would have, along with all the other brown people, been the ones being used to beat up on as whites expressed anger and saw us as taking their jobs. We also would have been the ones struggling more as this white nationalist streak ignited during the campaign took off.

That's just one example of how another candidate would have been worse for black people, had Obama not been elected.

Women would have been worse off also. Had the teaparty and the antiabortion, anti planned parenthood also played out the same way, the laws in Texas and other places would have most likely been upheld, because the brilliant appointees like Sotomayor would not have been on the supreme court to stop them. The court would have been much more conservative.

Obama has appointed more black federal judges than any President, ever. http://politic365.com/2014/01/24/18...d-higher-of-black-judges-than-any-president/# These are judges with lifetime appointments, who come from our communities and have real life experience to see black folks as people, and not just crime stats or stereotypes they draw from due to an absence of real world experience. We don't have to be "humanized" for them. Why do you think the GOP keeps blocking his appointments? There would have been many more if they were willing to do their job.

Y'all are asking Obama to do things specifically for black people when he can't get regular stuff done without passing an executive order. This is after dropping the ball and not showing up for midterm elections so that he could keep a democratic majority in congress to pass laws and actually get things done. (The idiots who want to see a Trump presidency in order to "wake people up" only need to look at congress to see what happened. People didn't wake up then, and the amount of destruction that has come to pass was not worth it, and it's mild compared to what I believe Trump would cause.) Police actions are governed by state and city officials, laws, and ordinances. Black folks don't need to be addressing Obama, they need to be out locally, and pressing the local candidates for change. In DC it's the congress who actually has to make laws and pass them to make it to Obama's desk for him to sign. Right now, RIGHT NOW, Flint Michigan is being denied funds to help with the lead in their water. The GOP insists everything must be paid for to make it into the budget. The dems cut other programs to get money for Flint and other places, but it's being held up even though Louisiana flood relief made it in and is not paid for. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/...t-hostage-in-latest-government-shutdown-fight Yet you expect me to believe this things would be better under McCain? McCain who has endorsed Trump btw, another example of his poor judgement.

So, lets see what we do have. We have a black man who had been competent and in power for 8 years. I haven't agreed with or liked everything he has done, but he has been an example of excellence and black male leadership at home and abroad. Remember white supremacy isn't only here in the states. Kids leading up to the age of 18 probably don't ever remember another president.

We have a traditional BLACK family with mother and father intact, daughters not dressing up as whores, going on drunk binges (Bush's daughters) or having kids out of wedlock (Palin's daughter), as a model to strive for and achieve. Not a TV sitcom that isn't "real". A functional black family that shows a real life ideal, and goes against the stereotypes that are painted about black families. We have a black role model that is powerful and successful and not an athlete or a rapper. Those are intangibles that cannot be measured, and that symbolism alone is worth the return I got on my vote. Racists may hate him, and they may try to belittle him, but they know that Obama is smarter than all of the combined and they can't stand it.

He has given legitimacy to BLM by inviting them to the White House and having some prominent blacks who were protesters sit on panels of organizations.

He has pardoned non violent drug offenders and reduced the discrepancy between crack/cocaine in sentencing. And so much more.

Now on to your news source: Brietbart is a rag for racists and conspiracy theorists. Using them as a source of credible information on politics involving Obama is like using Stormfront as a credible source on the behavior and attributes of black people. No one other than Breitbart thinks crime is up. At least no one credible. Washington post did a write up on them:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/post...ust-took-over-the-gop/?utm_term=.47c90b615bdb

See when we started all of this, I was under the impression that you were like many black and white Americans who had projected expectations upon Obama that he had never even hinted he would pursue or fulfill. A lot of people thought he was going to be the black Clark Kent: get elected, step into the phone booth (office) and burst out in a cape, caping for black folks. Many whites feared this, many blacks secretly hoped it was true. He can't really afford to do that as anything he says or does is used to promote white fear, and as I said, congress and locals are the ones who need to be lobbied, not the President.

I'm still hoping he goes full black after the election and pardons all the remaining black panther party leaders still in jail, and I will be disappointed if he doesn't, but that is my hope, not an expectation he has set. But this Breitbart piece you've posted, coupled with Donald Trump talking points that Obama hasn't done anything for black people that you've been sprouting, after the GOP has blocked anything he wanted to achieve for the past 8 years, changes things for me in dealing with you. Another mod has already pointed out all your posts originate from a United States IP address, but I didn't think you were faking being a black, er excuse me...mixed...dude, too. Chubby finger verification pic aside. Along with the fact that you are far too passionate over an election that doesn't involve your country, your post history with things you've said about Obama make you heavily suspect. You aren't just misguided, you are intentionally sowing right wing and alt right lies and attempting to get black folks to vote against their own interests. You have lost all credibility with me.

Not even close. Another false equivalation

You use to be an intelligent person but like most Trump leaning people you have gone off the deep end.

They are both fucking extremes. Extreme right and extreme left aren't good, fuck what you thought. Yeah, a place where :crymeariver: "I need my safe space," shit is promoted isn't far left. Anything the LBGTQ.... community thinks of is promoted there and pushed as democratic agenda. It's just as much a clown show over there as with Fox news. :smh:

And Fuck Trump and your bitch Hillary.

Go ahead and be a Hillary supporter, kiss her white feet while you are at it.

Bringing up the congress blocking anything that Obama want to achieve is just an excuse. He could have done more things outside of getting the congress approval. You really never here Obama talking much about crime in Chicago and what could be done to try to handle it, you never really hear him speak in deep details about cops slaughtering black men. He didn't even say much about the murders of Eric Garner or Michael Brown, I can go on and on.

You still talking about my finger or whatever when what does that has to do with this debate we are having smh. I can see right now you can't have a real debate without going off subject cause you are just a superficial black woman. I'm not even gonna stoop to your low level of talking about how you look cause I never seen you nor do I wish to ever see you.

Also you said why I'm worrying about the election when it don't involve me, well you are wrong yet again. It does matter to me cause I own businesses and properties in the United States just like I own businesses and properties in Canada.

As for my location, I have so many different IP addresses that's set in different locations. The person even said I wasn't even born in Canada, like he knows me personally or something smh. It's crazy how people like you believe anything somebody says. I can't take you serious anymore for even entertaining that bullshit.

So choosing and ensuring the sane person who will most likely ensure our country isn't shot to hell is the same as kissing Hillary's feet or some how worshiping white people? One: there are no black candidates to choose from and two: that was on of your initial criticisms: that people only voted for Obama because he is black. Anyone who actually cares about the future of this country is going to ensure Hillary is elected, whether they like her or not. If last night's debates didn't make that clear, nothing will.

As I said earlier, a win against Obama is seen as a win against black people. We saw what happened when he commented on Trayvon: Every white racist in America made it their mission to make sure Zimmerman got off and went on to provide financial support for him as a reward. He doesn't need to comment on all these cases. Just like you believe black people only rallied around Obama because he is black, white folk think Obama is only on the side of these victims for the same reason. This is a narrative and distraction not needed right now. We don't need to gin up white fear on the eve of the elections.

If stating facts that Obama has faced obstruction is an excuse then so be it. We have an anti gov't party who wants to refuse to fill government appointments needed to make this country run smoothly up to and including the SCOTUS and then tell us government doesn't work. This is fact. You don't think Obama would go around congress if he could? SMH. Every executive order he does has to be researched and vetted to make sure it can't immediately overturned. Thus far I believe only one has been successfully challenged, but Obama is a lawyer and knows better than to try to impose what is unconstitutional upon the states.

The federal government does not have the ability to dictate to the state and local police departments unless there is proven to be egregious constitutional violations such as Ferguson where the DOJ can step in. Local and state government is the ones who are controlling the quality of the day to day lives of black folks. That is where the attention needs to be focused.

You have made a blanket comment that Obama isn't doing anything for black people, that blacks are worse off and have already stated you can't say why. I asked for specifics trying to force a bit of critical thinking, to no avail. My stance is the opposite but I gave concrete examples as to why I hold this position, none of which you have adressed and probably can't even refute, but I'm the superficial one going off topic? Lmao. OK.

As far as the rest of you comments I'm not going to waste my time. Like I said earlier, you have no grasp of American politics and are trying to get black folks to vote against their own interests, and in the end you can't even clearly articulate why or back up your position.

Look, the Clinton's and the Democratic Party have shown us who they are... It's time we believe them and consolidate our vote and our power. With that said, Trump and the Republican Party has shown us who they are... And they're much much worse.

And unfortunately those are the only two choices we have at the moment. As I've said elsewhere before, the time to prepare a candidate to primary Hillary is NOW. Or at least with in the first 18 months of her term, if the police reforms and work she has promised to do on behalf of POC do not come to fruition. If she keeps her word, its a win. If she doesn't and gets primaried and loses, or even comes close to it, it sets the precedent and teaches others they need to keep their word to earn our vote, puts fear in those candidates and it's also a win. These candidates don't have to be our friend or have their "heart right" to work our agenda. The motivation to keep their job is sufficient.

Right now people are advocating not voting, as though a Trump presidency would not make us any worse off. He is proposing a nationwide stop and frisk, and if he can pick the SCOTUS to deny any challenges to it, he could actually eventually get away with it. White people who know the undertone to these types of laws, yet also fear government overreach, will still encourage them because the target POC, even though at anytime they can be used to target them as well. So they would screw themselves into the police state they fear. Not voting is not strategic. Voting for a third party who can't win is not strategic. Trump is far too dangerous and far too many are too blind to see it. I don't see why the fact he has alt-right racists running his campaign and setting his agenda is lost on so many people. They are trying to get their agenda of white supremacy and a resurgence of Jim Crow realized through Trump.
