Go to Tobago, Trinidad is more for family and friends... I like the south more but its really no fun if you don't know people.. Don't think people are going to be on your shit because you are from the U.S., half of them been here or have family here.. So your best bet is be yourself, go to the beach, enjoy the food and nice women will come to you naturally...
Actually Trinidad is better going with someone else, I gather she must be from there, and if so she will introduce you to a whole lot of people who will show you a good time..
If she isn't from there then yeah you are better off going to Tobago where you can have fun with out knowing too many people...

We're going on a vacation. This probably gonna be our family summer vacation spot from here on out.
Next summer the whole crew will take the trip, was gonna take them this time but they just started school, along with me thinking about taking them to the Cleveland Cavs first game for the ring ceremony, which will cost more than this trip.
Ok if you have a guid your good... Still try to make it to Tobago, its cheap plus if you can get a spot in Crown point its literally across the street from the airport (you can fly there for around 50 bucks) but the beaches are way better there and its more of a tourist spot... If you have a lot of you there, then you can also rent a boat and go to
Gasparee Island or Down D Island... Renting a boat is more expensive, but if you can go with ten people it would be worth it and cheaper.. A cool spot if you like water sports...
Oh before I forget, stay away from Punchin rum because if you drink too much there is a bullah mon, over there named Jimbo who would bull ya ass if you get too drunk...

That's the south western side of the island is kinda boring, ain't to far from Venezuela by boat. I thought you was staying more in the North where there are a lot more action in the week and on weekends.
Just don't be to flashy, keep to yourself and you will have a good time.

If you can stay in Port of Spain for a few days that will be good. On hotels.com you can find some deals on the north of the island and the east west corridor. It's also much easier to access the beaches like maracas bay and las cuevas. I recommend las cuevas, over maracas bay since the government was doing some improvement work and stopped so your not seeing the beauty of the beach. But stop in maracas bay and have the bake and shark.
If your in the Port of Spain area you will have access to Arapita Avenue or better known by the locals "the avenue" which is basically a street filled with bars and restaurants and people hang out daily. some of the popular spots are:
Aria, Roscoos, Frankies, coco lounge and smokey and bunty.
Also there is movietowne where there are different restaurants and minute shopping.
Then there are the malls like long circular mall and west mall
If you guys are into "boat rides" / "party cruise" which there are several every weekend on different times of the day. there are breakfast cruises, day cruises down the islands where you go to the little islands off the tip of north western side of the island and party on one of the little islands, then there are cooler cruises, you can attend any one you choose.
After a few days of this then i recommend you go Tobago via boat or via plane $50 USD but make sure and book in advance. Flights go almost every hour back and forth but they are always full.
In Tobago you can stay in the crown point area. Where everything is walking distance and most of the tourist congregate. You have the option of a guest house, tourist apartments, villas or hotel rooms. There u have access to the popular beaches and from
There u can go jet skiing, snorkeling, wind surfing or ride a glass bottom boat to see the DEAD coral Or go out to the middle of the ocean and bathe in the Nylon Pool where the water reach you waist height.
Once again IF your staying in Point Fortin your robbing yourself if your coming to "lime" or "palance". If you wanna relax and not be part of the REAL action stay in Point Fortin. If you want your eyes pop out your head seeing woman and have a good time stay in the north for a few days and then go Tobago to relax b4 u head back home.
Also don't think u can stay Point Fortin and drive to the action everyday because it's like an hour drive to go and come back another hour and that's if there is no traffic. Don't think of hiring a taxi because they will kill u with the fares.
I recommend A Few days in Point Fortin, the around Thursday come to Port of Spain stay in a hotel and Monday leave for Tobago for a few days.

Thats deep south close to my stomping grounds... I also be a El derodo and San Fernando but Cedros (close to Point) is where I like to chill the most..
Point has a market place where I sometimes go to (don't drive down there, not fucking with that other side driving yet) so when I want to escape I hop on a Maxi from Cedros and I go to Point..
But I t ell you this you are going to see the real Trinidad no tourist bullshit... LOL... But Point has some real good people... Oh another thing, something I almost found out the hard way, you are not allowed to wear any camouflage at all, something about the cops are only allowed to wear it...

Funny people from the north be saying the south is boring, but I don't know up North is too restricted, too many bars on the windows and big ass gates.. My people got money and live in big ass houses, but to me they look like prisons.. In the South everybody knows each other and my brother in law, my closet friend owns a bar by the beach, plus everyone knows each other, so once your in the clique your like family..
