When did hairlines become such a big deal?

I remember, in the early to mid-90s, it was all about how tight your fade was. But it seems like having a tight hairline has been dominant the last 10-15 years or so. I even see it with guys who have dreads. There was even a thread on here at one time where various celebrities' hairlines were being clowned. Anybody know when and why this started, or has it always been there? Is it the same as black women's talking about "edges?"

I let that sharp edged stuff go after my 20s. But yeah, the hairline for men is just like women and their edges. except that women's edges look natural while men's hairlines seem to have become overly done.

It started when some started drawing their shit on their heads and it looked too perfect for any master barber to have did with clippers or a straight edge.

Having a hairline is better than no hair at all because you can't do shit if there's nothing there to do shit with besides draw on it which has started an ugly trend of dudes walking in balding and walking out hair looking better than it did every in their lives.Sharpie-marker ass dudes.

Lol that shit looks terrible three days later, walking around with a cap on.

Also who thought it was a good idea to s-curl your beard?fool don't you know an s-curl has to stay moist or the shit will dry out the hair and bread the fuck off.Ross has a lot of these dudes fooled thinking they has do that shit and have it look the same,NO!.
Some cat when to bed and woke up with his beard laying next to him because that bitch broke off or went up in smoke when they decided to smoke with that dried out haystack of a beard.....

On some real though, why are so many young looking men hair thinning/balding like this?

Depends on where you from...Cats been about they shape up game since the mid/late 80s on my end... This new paint by numbers shit including the draw in beard fuckery started mid 00s.

I was just talking to my friend about this just yesterday. Hairlines are the first thing I look at. If a man doesn't have one, I'm just not attracted to him. I don't even like bald heads.

Damn this shit is crazy! And to think.. I've been rolling with Steve all this time.:lol::lol:
