NBA Offseason 2016 - FreeAgency money dried up...Waiters gets $2.6 after OKC pulled $6+ offer...

So had he went to the Cavs to play with LeBron it would have been cool?

Of course it would have been cool because deep down 50% of these dudes dislike the Durant to GSW move BECAUSE of what it will mean to LeBron and the Cavs. For all their posturing and talking about coming back from 3-1 they know that sh** was luck. There won't be any such luck next year or years to come. That's why they're trippin.

As far as the super team thing? I'm disappointed by the lack of insight. There are a lot of BGOL dudes who know a lot about this shit but it seems they're overlooking the main reason Durant bounced.

His main goal is to get a ring. He came close this year which is why everyone is so dumbfounded. Only one problem, he's seen this before.

In 2012 OKC was the Western Conference Champion. Young as fuck, dominant. What did OKC management do? Gave up James Harden for $4.5mm. The difference between Houston's offer and theirs. What happened? OKC dropped. Did they consult Durant? Nope. Fast forward to 2016. OKC came within one game of dethroning GS. Potential to be dominant again pretty high and finally get the ring. What happens? OKC managment trades Ibaka. Why? Because they don't want to pay him next year. Was Durant consulted? Nope.

Who wouldn't bounce?

And the reasons they don't suffer is its a stars league

As long as they have superstars which they always will then people will still watch

I don't pay as much attention to the regular season as I have in some years past but I damn sure check for the playoffs always

It's hard when the only sports you like are football and basketball

Can't get into watching baseball at all

I used to watch the NBA anytime a game was on. I've moved more and more towards football as every game matters and you don't know what to expect year to year. Honestly, who can say who will make the super bowl next year? but we all would be SHOCKED if we don't get a repeat of the last two NBA finals' matchups

We all watch the big games, but a Indiana/Toronto matchup in the regular season is getting no views. A lot of this changed when NBC got the rights to the NBA broadcasts. When it was on CBS, they pretty much put all the good teams on national TV, and no one team was on all the time.

NBC decided to showcase Jordan, and basically, the Bulls, Knicks, and Lakers were on TV every weekend.

Spot on.

Dudes just made because they scared that Durant will pass Lebron

So what does gambling and a lack of games have to do with how popular the draft and draft camps and the offseason is in the NFL?
Listen im not saying people dont like watching the draft and camps etc and it doesnt draw ratings; but at the end of the day, gambling is the driving force behind the popularity; there are countless of articles behind this; fantasy sports(which is gambling) is also a huge reason for the popularity; Its the perfect storm; not that many games, only 1 game each week, most games are played on sunday, and betting; There are 82 games in Basketball; Imagine it being dropped to say 29 games; that means everyone only played each other once; and each games was played once a week; you wouldnt be able to get a ticket; popularity would go thru the roof; viewership would skyrocket; same thing for baseball; its not about people believing their team has a chance to win; There are plenty of teams that have no chance to win every year in the nfl; yet that doesnt stop people from going to those games and/or watching those games...

I don't think most people have a problem with him leaving OKC doesn't deserve him or Westbrook for that matter for the reasons you listed along with others

The issue is the team he selected

And me personally I could care less if he passed Lebron or not but if he was to do so he need a lot more MVPs and finals apparences to do so

Salaries out of line? I say no way. These guys owe it to themselves and their families not to leave one damn dollar left on the table. Look at the salaries of Formula One drivers and soccer players. America just needs to get used to the new normal. I say hooray for all these guys. I hope Lebron gets $40+ mil a year.

Yup...man a fee years ago the fucking Bucks sold for $300 plus million...
The fucking Bucks

Feel a little better today.
Kinda reminds me of Marino.
The Dolphins hung onto him for too long.
The Heat are doing the opposite of what the Dolphins did.
Still my favourite player and I'll always have all those great memories.

I'm not saying those things don't matter.

But if you only care about gambling, you're MUCH better served watching the game from home with Redzone.

So if it was only gambling, NFL attendance would really suffer, because the NFL stadium experience is terrible for fantasy.

There's a difference.

The Cowboys were 4-12 last year, and up until the last 3-4 games, they were only a couple games out of first place.

The Giants fans, Redskin fans, and Eagles fans had a reason to be invested...not just watching because it's on, but to be invested in the games. Because in the NFL, a team like the Giants, that have been mediocre all year and barely makes the playoffs, has a chance to get hot and win it all. Hell, no one really thought the Broncos with a broken down Peyton were going to win the Superbowl when the playoffs started. But they had a chance. You ask any one in this thread, how much more attention they pay, how much more into the games, how much more likely they are to go to a game or to by merchandise when they feel like their team has a chance.

And if they don't have a chance this year, you know a good offseason can give you a chance next year, no matter who your team is. If you're a fan of 90% of the teams in the NBA, you know that no matter what you do in the offseason, your team has no chance to win a title really for the next 5 years unless LeBron AND one of the Warriors stars gets hurt. Even then it's dicey.

How is he going to pass LeBron when he's going to be averaging career lows and be just a guy on the Warriors? The days of MVPs and scoring titles are over for him as long as he's there.

That's all it is....they're worried.

 I'm not worried

Shit I was happy with the first title in Miami, the 2nd was sweeter because I went to the ring ceremony.

I think his best playoff run was last year , even tho he missed many shots...

No Love, Irving and a injured Shum

Curry basic told him he can be the man, he's not worrying about being the guy...

Unless Curry, Draymond, and Klay are going to all three average about 10 a game, Durant is not winning MVPs or scoring titles.

And if they all decide to average 10 a game so Durant can win scoring titles and MVPs, they ain't winning shit.

Curry comments makes me feel they gonna feature KD as first option

I get what you're saying but considering the number of brothas who dislike Curry for simply being light (lol) I wouldn't say this kind of petty ain't possible.

the people commenting on the team dynamics aren't exactly qualified.
they joined together knowing damn well they would never get any mvp's and shit again as long as they're together.
the only thing they can get is a ring which im sure durant will be determined to get this season and the warriors still have a huge chip on their shoulders so will be after it as well.

nothing is guaranteed but the pressure to deliver. that's it.
