Any of you guys coming? Make sure you come to the one in Decatur and not the one downtown Atlanta where they only have 3 floats.

Stuck at Mr. Carwash on ponce .... right now.... yall shoulda warned a brother about this cot damn parade. ...

Ehhhhh...... that's the A for ya....lots of women too.. you have to decide where to place your focus.
...
Yeah I typically like the Carribean festivals on the Islands. Especially Barbados and Trinidad. I've had the most fun in Trinidad though. The women there are so fuckin fine and friendly to.

Somehow, I don't see these events as being a safe haven for batty boy assemblies.

I'm just saying it's not as good as the ones on the islands. I came to the one in ATL last year and it was bullshit.
Yes last year and as bulkshit but I'll post some pics of 2013 tomorrow. It was nice

You can't compare the show in the islands to the one done here. That's like comparing an American air show to an Island airshow.

I'm going to head down there a little later on.

Got two of my side chicks going and don't want to ruin into either of them.

Can y'all enlighten a brotha on this event? Is it worth traveling to be there? Hella eye candy? Let a brotha know.

Not worth traveling from a different state but if you're within an hours shot then yes, it's worth it.

Plenty of women walking around half naked.

Drinks, weed and dancing.

To be honest both of them are corny compared to when they used to just have the one big festival downtown. Taking a different route and hitting the jazz fest.

You're kind of a miserable guy ain't ya....
I'm gonna grab some of this hop's....slide over to the carribean festival.....then around the corner to the jazz fest. ..life is good. ..

Miserable? No, truth is truth. Why take one festival, break it into two, then have them on the same day? The parade was MUCH better before they split it up. The whole event was. It is what it is. And, honestly there are more women at the jazz fest lol

Carnival in North America whether it be in Toronto, NYC, Miami, ATL etc etc is not the same as the ones they have on the islands. There is just no comparison. On any carribbean island, the carnivals are more festive and very rooted in culture where the entire countries atmosphere reflects that when your there. In North America the carnivals are more of a showcase of the carribbean culture on display. It's like eating jerk chicken at a Jamaican restarurant vs buying jerk chicken from Kroger or the Walmart food section. Sheeiiiit, it's very hard to articulate. You have to experience both type of carnivals to know the difference.

What are you comparing Caribana and NYC with? Which islands? I haven't been to all the islands but I would assume that at least one mainly has people from that island. I don't think I will see a gang of Trini women jumping up in Haiti or Aruba...You ever seen old BK on labor day week? Which carnivals have you been to?

You're right and I know the difference already, I've experience both the ones on the Islands and the ones in North America.

Yep. I'm going to the Decatur Arts festival today. Mostly white folks though.
