Ehhh Id on't know. I'm sure some did. I think some thought bad word of mouth would hurt. Unless you talking 1 billion in the US. I didn't see that. But a billion worldwide? I didn't see why not. Its a comic book movie with popular characters in it.

unless there is a miracle resurgence at the box office this weekend - unlikely because of Jungle Book screens and impossible next week because The Huntsman: Winter's War will take the remaining the screens until Civil War.

Its August - If Will and Margot promote it as strongly as they did Focus... with the WB machine pushing too it also get McDs or BK to put some toys in happy meals and cups- fun movie AND positive word of mouth... it'll do a billion

Focus wasn't this type of action novelty movie though. When he does those films he does 300 mill in his sleep. After Earth was trash and did 200 million plus.

this is going to sound cliche...but I think after THIS movie this description will be used MUCH more sparingly..
It was a COMIC BOOK brought to life.
and masterfully written and directed.
EVERYTHING made SENSE!
looked fantastic.
every single solitary actor was used perfectly didn't mater if it was a 3 minute scene waiting for an elevator or a 10 minute fight sequence...
EVERYONE had something to do.
no one was wasted everyone had an arch, story lines resolved and future possibilities.
It made me want to see stand alone films on EVERY character,,,every single one.
And Black Panther?
Look I was unsure on many levels...but this is it. Be happy Be proud.
And honestly I can't believe I'm saying this but if the Russo Brothers turn around and say they want to either write direct or produce the fiull length Black Panther feature?
I aint got no issues with them white boys doing it...because I want the BEST depiction of T'challa point blank period.
this man was REGAL the voice the way he stood the fight scenes the attitude the intelligence and the fine AZZ body guards!

Actually if it wasn't for the brilliance of Deadpool I would say we should boycott all Marvel movies NOT under the official Disney banner.
But this movie delivers...and keeps delivering. People DID NOT want to leave the theater, I would have actually watched it again right there cause I KNOW I missed stuff.
I don't think I watched the same movie in theater since maybe Malcom X.
I WILL see this again, in the theater.
