Its possible...but cops should be held to a higher standard right? That's why when a cop is killed everybody has to hear about it right? Because a cop killing is on a different level from a citizen right? I mean, not only does it seem like they didn't try to help, they actually found the whole thing amusing. Simple disinterest would have been a better look.

When the story about Alabama cops framing black males- over 10 years- broke, the Arizona (edit*** I meant California) attacks happened. This man drowning isn't egregious enough to warrant Isis or Cosby... But your assessment is so spot on.

Yes. I didn't mean to attribute the ISIS attack warnings to this particular incident but to the (still growing) dissatisfaction of Black people in this country towards our treatment. My point is that we must be aware that this is the tactic, tried and true, used by white power structure to diffuse any movement towards unity. Funny how they only use it against Blacks. Other races are free to unify and prosper. These are the things we can't lose focus of.

_"unifies" everybody against a common enemy. ie: "we understand your situation but we must defend our country first"
_ shifts the blame. ie: "are you so selfish that you put BLM ahead of our country's safety?"
Look at every movement towards Black unity in the history of this country and we see the same tactics. We have to be smarter than to let them distract us again. Don't be surprised if there is an actual attack. There are plenty of thugs on the payroll.

I expect people at crime scenes and coroners offices to function like people in any office environment...they will laugh and clown etc etc...I dont expect people in the coroners office to look serious all the time...I don't think its the same situation as what we have in the OP...if you don't think cops should be held to a higher standard then let them know...they go out of the way to let people know they are special all the time

they didnt have to jump. they could have thrown a rope or lifesaver...or make it look like you are trying to find one somewhere...throw him the rope and let him decide if he wants to grab...dont laugh on the scene while he is STILL alive...ayou can always joke about that shit later in the office
That's not the officers job. If they help would have helped quicken his death I'm sure charges could have been bought. I'm glad someone taped it so the facts can be clear.
Oh no there will be another attack and it certainly won't surprise me. The attack will come when something egregious and embarrassing has ether happened or comes to light, which has the power to unite us (to your point). It's pretty obvious to the extent that I'm surprised it's still effective.

I am not sure what the case is. I saw where one person said it was his fault to jump in there. I do not know if he jumped in. When I was at county jail a white supremacist that hated me and the people I associated with with a passion. But I watched him cut his wrist one day, and when it did it the blood jumped up. I immediately torn a shirt up and tied it to his arm to slow the blood flow, then started banging and hollering for the officers. I was doing all I could to save him even though this was a dude in jail for killing his friend. He shot his friend then when his friend started running he chased him down and unloaded the gun in him.
I would never be an officer myself because of religious reasons. But sometimes just being human makes you different. If I was there they may have tried to keep me back and it may have been for my safety. Seems like someone would have at least tried to throw a branch or hold one to try to pull him in.
