Anyone who attacks North America will go after Canada last. My citizenship will let me and my kids cross the border easier. I'll call on my brother who lives in the middle of nowhere. The country is far too big and spread out to attack all of it.
 
The fact is no one is ready. It doesn't matter how much ammo, guns or food and water you have saved up. I'm praying I will be in a ground zero location. That way I won't have to deal with the radiation sickness (a slow horrible death) and the anarchy that would surely follow.

How do you know those RTEs are going to be safe to eat? Your guns will fire? That you'll even be able to use your guns? No one knows and no one is likely to survive that's not tied to the government on a political level.

Better hope that MAD remains the one factor that keeps us all from doing something stupid.

You need to watch a few of those old 'Doomsday Prepper' episodes. Regular sats are spending close to a million stockpiling, fortifying and running drills. Mofos got cabins and mansions sitting off in the middle of the woods with spare vehicles and multiple escape routes with supplies stashed along the escape route. I was trying to get like them at one point and then Sandy hit and I saw how much work I needed to complete.

Understand not all the bombs will be aimed at major cities. Plus those videos although based upon fact are still speculatory, they haven't been tested under the actual environment for their intended use. Survival may actually be as simple location.

I'm still under the belief that if a nuclear war was to happen the planets population most likely will quickly perish. Not immediately but at some point all will succome to radiation poisoning. How long can man really live within an enclosure. There's islands in the Pacific that still show radiation levels above safe limits from testing done in the 50s.

I have survival skills that I learned in the Army. I have guns and ammo. My only real issue is finding potable water in the city. Everything else will work itself out as I leave the city and work my way into wooded area. Do not attempt to leave the city when the shit first hits the fan. The ones who put the shit in the fa will be expecting it. Lock down where you are and maintain noise and light discipline. After a few weeks or so then you make your move. Stay off main roads and only move at night.
 
Yes the likely hood of it happening is in doubt. But....if it were.. and no planes were flying out...One of the first things i'd do is set off an emp to prevent that.
