Trailer was average. Music was average. Editing was meh... that's why the drool and gloom feeling after the credits rolled.

I WANT TO LOVE THIS SO MUCH BUT IT JUST AIN'T... THERE... something is missing. Im not sure yet. This was a solid effort but after a year of trailers that has folks jumping up and down and crying and clapping - this is the best they could do? After that BAD ASS, HARD ASS DEADPOOL TRAILER... all the Star Wars trailers, the first Supes v Bats trailer, that Triple 9 trailer, that Suicide Squad trailer STILL rings in my ears and they couldnt do better than this?

Apocalypse is indeed blue, not purple - like he looked on those set photos but everyone knows he sposed to be grey. They don't wanna make him an ancient black Kemetian - fine, make him grey - like he looks in the comics - like old brown skin, a thousand years old and withered from cosmic omnipotent energy, and keep it moving. And his armor is too damn big for his little body.

Storm has her poses down, she looks like Hally Berry, Nightcrawler looks like young Alan, Beast looks more and more like X3 Beast, new Jean fits but she still can't act, Im almost waiting for Little Finger to come out behind her with his hand up her snatch. Jenn Law is almost as pretty as Rebecca but she still got that baby fat on her face and they featuring her ass too much. New Cyclops looks shitty - he is nowhere near as good looking and square jawed as old Cyclops. They fucked that character up from the first movie on until now I see.

Fassbender can do NO WRONG. He is imitating Ians version of Magneto to a T and every pose, every speech, every threat is made like he got Malcolm in the back of his mind cueing him. Perfect casting.

McAvoy IS XAVIER now. He is doing the same thing that Fassbender is doing - he idolizes Sir Patrick so this casting has me sold. From the first movie on, it makes sense - he is just SO emotional in the role, I love it. I can watch the movie just to see him and Fassbender bag debates out.

Still not sure about the script, I aint a fan of mind control storylines, that shit is played now mane, we all smarter than this. AND, you rob the story of its drama and make the characters not responsible for their actions anymore. That's a huge problem in a film script that's sposed to be the seal on this trilogy.

Matt Vaugh did wonders with First Class... Days of Futures Past gave Singer a way back in but I hope he doesn't fuck this one up by going off the beaten path too far.


Next trailer has to impress. I love the effort, please pay off.

All fair points but all of us should know by now a TRAILER is JUST a TRAILER and is definitely not an accurate representation on what the movie will be. As you know there are countless examples of really good Trailers behind so bad movies. They've made two good movies so far so I will give them the a fair chance.

it looks better than I thought it would....but not nearly as good as I had hoped for this movie. First Class and DoFP were better than X1-3.....but in contrast to other comic films, lackluster. The X-Men were my favorite group of comic characters, so while it is nice to see them on film....it sucks that the shit isnt living up to the potential that these characters offer. I'll be seeing this when it comes out.....I'll judge it then. Hope its better than this trailer is letting on.

All the xmovies singer has done look cheap. I hate cheap. It's like syfy Channel looking cheap. There's no characterization outside of wolverine and magneto. Characters aren't built up. We have no idea who Storm is. We have no idea who Beast is. What drives him. We have no idea what Professor's dream REALLY is. Part of what makes the XMen is that they're fighting for a dream. For the Professor's dream. This isn't a book about superheroes. This is a book about Family. Cyclops is the field general. Jean and Storm are the older big sisters. Beast is charming but he's like that to hide how crazy he actually is. Like the whole thing is set up to be professor x vs magneto. That's not what the xmen are about. Singer just shits on everything for all these movies and people who don't know anything about the comics don't know better.

And they're shoehorning the Jennifer character in too. What purpose? No clue. You mean to tell me they couldn't have found a character who's actually an XMan(longtime) to be Professor's lil play buddy? Polaris? Returning Emma Frost? Magik? Psylocke? Rogue?

So no. I didn't like any of the new movies.

I loved what the direction that First Class had. I loved the score. That was Matt Vaughn trying to right the ship - he knew how far they strayed from the source. Singer coming back was a good course correct because I thought he learned during his hiatus. Maybe not.

I hate on how they depicted Apocalypse character,
it still looks like Ivan Ooze in the preview. The voice actor
playing Apocalypse doesn't sound intimidating at all.

I like the actress Alexandra Shipp playing Ororo Munroe.
As for jennifer lawrence playing mystique,

Only give examples if you really want too. I've been reading XMen for close to 40 years. I didn't see any of those things in the movie. If you don't want to... cool. I'm not saying SHOW ME! But you did say you could. I didn't see it. I didn't see any type of family with these movies. Not even the very first ones. The first xmen movie back in 2000 was about wolverine and Rogue kinda. The actual XMen had no story in my view. There was no dream in my view.

These reboots the first class i saw them gather but i saw no sense of getting them together to be a family. Not to mention they had fuckin Havok in the movie. Then of course all of them looked cheap as shit. Beast looked absolutely horrible. They didn't do anything with their personalities. I don't even know if Angel had any lines really.

But yeah... i hate this shit. I hate Singer. I wish he'd just get knocked for molesting little boys and have to quit the project and go to jail. I wish Fox would just give up on trying to make Marvel movies ALTOGETHER. They CLEARLY have no idea what they're doing. They've fucked up every title they've had.

I would trade this and pretty much all the other x-men movies for 1 good one about Onslaught starring Patrick Stewart and Ian McKlellan.
BUT, you would also have to throw in Cable, Deadpool, Legion, the Morlocks, and the original X-Men 1 actors.

There's a reason why all the X-men movies disappoint on some level.
First of all, The X-Men are like the Wu-Tang Clan of Marvel Comics. The roster runs deep as fuck and everybody is looking forward to seeing their favorite characters show up. Outside of the core group, however, every new X-Man who gets introduced is :
A. looks good and gets 15-30 seconds of screen time.
B. looks like shit and gets way too much screen time.
C. gets his/her powers changed from what they were in the comics to something stupid in order to fit into the script

Second, the problem with the X-Men movies is fan service, or more specifically, the lack thereof. Sure, we got a dream team cast in the first movie , but it went downhill from there
Due to the fact that most moviegoers aren't as familiar with the "B-level" characters and the stories as the rest of us, the plot and script get dumbed down into the simplest piece of shit that the average fucktard can follow. These movies aren't made for us: we're the minority.
WE don't need 1 and 1/2 hour origin stories. WE don't need entire 12 issue story arcs from the comics turned into 90 minute movies.
What we need is original fucking stories that aren't pieced together by lazy ass writers.
What we need is for mf's to stop casting whatever actor/actress just happens to be hot right now and stop expanding those roles beyond what makes sense in the movies. (i.e., Mystique) I get it, the big name is supposed to be the draw for ticket sales, but we all know that aside from her kids (Graydon Creed, Nightcrawler, and *Rogue*) Mystique is about as important as Aunt May.

I don't know. I think those reshoots were about "fixing" Apocalypse and adding in more Jennifer Lawrence. If it was an end credit appearance, wouldn't really have to "reshoot" anything.
