Mad Max: Fury Road

30 years after the last Mad Max get em to the promised land adventure,Director George Miller returns to his franchise with a new Max (Tom Hardy) and a relentlessly entertaining film.Miller definitely hasnt lost his touch, providing stunning visuals and action which equals to a flick well worth the ticket price
Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult are equally as good as Hardy completely immersing themselves in their roles. The flick could have used some more character development and has some predictable turns, but where aside from Star Wars are you going to find an assortment of interesting looking and intimidating characters?
Car and truck chases ,with shootouts and explosions galore.
Tons of praise to the stunt people and technical people who really put in some hard work in the hot desert. What a fun ride.

Pontypool

this had me shook when i first seen it,i went looking for my old copy of Rosetta Stone afterward :roflmao2:

i remember one time being at the mall where i work and seeing this lady on her cell talking to someone, mustve had bad reception cause she was like"I'll call you
tomorrow, okay?? Tomorrow..TOMORROW.TOMORROW!!" i kept expecting her to start repeating that word over and over like the"zombies" in the film

Tomorrowland

A lot of fun but boy oh boy was it preachy about the environment and other issues of the day plus
The ending was a bit jumbled. But if your 21 or older and want to feel like a kid again this ones for you.

My rating
7.5/10

My 12 year old sons rating
8.5/10

Thanks for the review, JB. Good to have the comparison with your rating & your son's too. Been reading about the film and Clooney in a few recent articles. Hoping to see the new Mad Max film with pops, as he suggested it, and enjoyed the original flicks decades back.

Yes HF definitely check it out. Not sure if Tomorrowland will eventually be able to cover its 180-190 million price tag though

Right on. Fairly caught up on the past year too, but still need to check out a handful from awards season yet (back in Dec/Jan).

So much I haven't seen I did check out the last Divergent flick though it was so boring and repetitive I likely won't bother with the next one

San Andreas

San-Andreas-Movie.jpg

Yea i know, most people will think Rockstar had something to do with this, but they didnt so no appearances by CJ,Sweet,or Big Smoke :roflmao2:

IMO the movie was good, not great, even though this ground was covered in movies like 2012 and the original Earthquake back in the day..

San Andreas

Hits all the right check points for a disaster flick

Estranged couple ✓ estranged couples kid ✓ Scientists that predict it all but no one listens ✓ Good one liners ✓ Breathtaking destruction ✓
Jerk off characters that you cant wait to see take a dirt nap ✓ People surviving the impossible ✓
Oh and casting Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario as mother and daughter was perfect....wink

Nightingale

David Oyelowo is excellent as Peter Snowden a war veteran who unravels mentally in the confines of his home

Breaking Upwards

Cute independent film about a couple attempting to amicably break up but find that they still cant escape all the sadness and jealousy
that comes with a break up

It Follows and Return To Sender were two pretty good movies.
It Follows had some crazy scenes in it as well, that'll have you like.....wtf???

I really enjoyed it. I thought the score was dope too. That's a big thing for me in horror movies

Jurassic World

I admit i entered the theatre to watch Jurassic World as a skeptic, will this film be as much fun as the first Jurassic film made almost 22
years ago?
Well i was pleasantly surprised .Sure some of it was predictable but i cant deny how Director
Colin Trevorrow and writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver wereable to comeup with some truly suspenseful moments and edge of your
seat thrills.Chris Pratt was great as animal expert and Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady. He and Bryce Dallas Howard played well off each other
JW is a true Summer blockbuster.

EX-MACHINA

Oscar Isaac is great as Nathan a brilliant but extremely eccentric and reclusive tech genius ,who through a contest invites
a young computer programmer named Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson),to his home to test an A.I he has created named
'Ava' (Alicia Vikander).

Discoveries are made that lead to claustophobic madness. The film has so much going for it ,from its haunting
tone to stunning cinematography by Rob Hardy.
There are a couple of plot holes and predictable turns but it still doesnt take away much from how mesmerizing the film is

Scale of 1-10 a 9

Love Exposure

Great Japanese movie, cinematography and soundtrack were amazing, also some of the acting scenes gave me chills. However VERY LONG MOVIE. This shit is 4 hours long, so you can watch it in installments like i did, (2) or try and watch it all in one sitting. Check this one out though.

While not exactly what the title says it is  this was a good movie nonetheless..Chanel Iman did a good job(for what i think is her acting debut)

Cyberbully
Screen_Shot_of_Cyberbully_2015_TV_Movie.jpg

Basically its Arya Stark gets ocked by a unseen hacker.. this was apparently based on a real-life experience for Maisie,as she was the victim of cyberbullying after she was cast on Game Of Thrones

Had a chance to see Mad Max on the big screen Sunday evening. Enjoyed it. It lived up to all the hype from fans, critics, and BGOL fam' alike in recent weeks. Loud, angry, in your fuckin' face, kick you in the teeth action flick. Cars / guns / spears / noise / fire / chaos / CGI / good camera angles / Zoe Kravitz's nipple pokies a number of times. Shit just can't lose, fam'. It just can't. SENSORY OVERLOAD many a time & shits on plenty of other flicks from the genre throughout the years √
