For AR's?....

y'all don't care about brands? Even for reliability reason?

It is hard to stick to one brand on an AR. It's common for a receiver to be made by one company, Colt, DD and a few other manufacturers make the majority of their rifle specific parts. You would be hard pressed to find a company that makes ALL their own springs, pins, etc. Just buy quality parts from reputable manufacturers. So really they all are Franken-guns that one manufacture put their name on as they assembled the parts.

^^^ This.

I've owned an example of most of the popular AR's manufactured in the US. Everything from DPMS, RR, Spikes, LMT, Larue, and Noveske. I have changed most of the factory components on all of them. For me the beauty of the AR is the interchangeability. I built customs (for me) on a quality lower/upper, and pieced together with the best parts (which is very subjective) to suit my likes. FWIW, the original posting was to show that a forged AR could be built for the price of a poly lowered AR. Shit I have assembled "trunk guns" for friends out of $49. dollar Anderson lowers and spare parts, that have 1000's of rounds through them..........

I'm currently building and AR-15, just finished my lower, I'm eventually going to build and upper, but I'm going to buy 1 first. What are your thoughts on Stag Arms?

I was going to ask how that process worked out...I'm thinking of building an AR-10 or 15 as a project this spring. What type of lower did you get?

ammoseek.com
ammo.net
ammoman.com
unammo.com for my southwestern folks

all do bulk price/shipping of ammo...at least until they change the law.....CA NY HI AK DC...you guys are on your own bc your state got jacked up laws.

reposted incase some of you guys missed....all the guns in the world dont mean a thing without the ammo to use in them...

Stag makes a quality black rifle. When I got in the game, I bought a complete rifle 1st (DPMS). After which I based my likes and dislikes on what I built and what components to use.

This is how I wanna do it. Buy a complete AR-15 1st, then go from there.

I ain't never shot an AR, so I don't know what I like or dislike. I don't know where to start

Thats what Im saying whats my people doing ammo wise? I just got my last order so Im up to 19 cans of xm855 and about another 500 rounds of xm193. Theres plenty places out there that still have green tips in stock, yall better jump on it before ATF bans it or price jumps back up to a dollar a round.

Ok i know who to hit up if i need more ammo :lol:

Yea, I like collecting, too.

Where you buy kits & receivers?

Flipping ammo from that link you posted?

There are a few places I order kits from Sarco, Classicarms, AIM Surplus to name a few. I'm not currently flipping ammo, I'm in horde mode right now. There will be another scare, all the above will increase in price 3-4 fold and become highly sought after. I will make my move then.........:D

Until they start selling the official stock this will have to do. I am not spending $500 on an airsoft just to get that damn stock. Plus this folds so I'm good for now.

Gorgeous, but are you allowed to put a stock on a pistol? Or did you register this as a SBR? If so, how did you get your tax stamp this fast?!

The Scorps just came out a few months ago. It took me 14 months to get my Tax Stamp stuff to clear.

The BATF's efforts to ban M855 have been rescinded.

A win for all AR owners of every variant.

Yeah it's a SBR. I E-filed my form 1 online back on 1/23/15 it was approved today. Actually this was the longest I've waited using the eform. You can search for a YouTuber named Mrgunsandgear he actually has a video that walks you through the process if you have a revocable trust set up.

you heard of this company?

if so what are your thoughts?

http://www.shopnoveske.com/

Noveske is one of the preeminent armorers in the AR Market. They keep a fair degree of their manufacturing in house and is one of the few AR builders who lathe and turn their own polygonal barrels.

Expect to get match grade, sub MOA accuracy from them.

In short, Noveske makes squared away rifles and components.
Buy from them with confidence.

My only caveat is this - and it's not a knock on Noveske, but once I get above the $1,300 price point for an AR rifle, I'm leaving DI and looking at Gas Piston rifles. PWS, LWRC, POF... etc.

I'm waiting on a e-filed F1, filed on the same day. It seems as if the e-file system has started to slow down. :smh::smh:

Man its so hard not to sell any of it people are paying double what it was worth a few weeks ago. I've seen 420 rds green tips going for $350 when it was $160 2 weeks ago.

the BATF have said they wont ban this ammo, as of today
