Re: Sony Palystation 4... The unaimous choice for games.

looks like Sony planned worked so far and after TGS it worked damn well.

Sony is leading in sales right now and the Japan numbers have been low. Which isn't shocking the Japan gaming market has moved to mobile. Phones/3ds/vita. Hell this week was the first time the PS4 sold more copies than vita in a while.

Sony focused more on other markets knowing that Microsoft wasn't a threat and after seeing the sale numbers of Xbox ones in Japan that proved to be right.

Also look what Sony is doing. Persona 5 will be on PS4. A new Dragon Quest game is also coming to PS4 also you see Sony bringing other popular JRPGs to PS4 and Vita.

The advantage Sony has in Japan is that even though games like Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy are not exclusive that market will only buy it for the PS4 so they might as well be exclusives and after the comments Hideo said releasing Ground Zeroes you pretty much can tell what system he prefers the game to be played on.

:itsawrap::itsawrap:

finally square is putting out something good. I don't count Tomb Raider since that is really Crystal Dynamics.

from the makers of Dragon Dogma a game that sold well in Japan.

Re: Sony Palystation 4... The unaimous choice for games.

From the developers Ready at Dawn. They are more known for their psp games Dexter and the God of War psp games. Sony was rumored before the launch of PS4 that their psp game developers were creating console games. Rumors still going strong that Bend Studios are working on a Syphon Filter game for the PS4. Bend created the two Syphon Filter games that received good reviews for the psp

back to the order rumors have been that Ready at Dawn has been having problems developing this game. At a preview many video game journalist were not impressed with the game play and the word used a lot was "rough around the edges" which led to the two delays.

I'm personally waiting to read reactions from TGS to see if opinions have changed. Greg from IGN said he played the game at Pax and it had improved and had him excited but I will wait to see.

I like Ready at Dawn but I know this will be their first try at a console game.

I'm personally going to Pax South that will be held in San Antonio in Jan. (I'm only going for Friday and Saturday)

I hope by then I can personally see what this game is about but I'm actually looking forward to the indie games

Re: Sony Palystation 4... The unaimous choice for games.

can't wait for this to drop. I played the first one like crazy on Vita and the soundtrack was great.

Since the Vita is now an indie console I pray to God Sony can get Devolver Digital to bring this game to the Vita or PS4

Is kill zone shadow worth $15 ? Gamefly used

depends on you as a gamer. Do you enjoy first person shooters, are you a fan of the killzone franchise or are you looking for something to play on your ps4.

Me personally I have never played Killzone Call of Duty Halo or any other first person shooter because I'm not into it with the exception of Bioshock and Deus Ex.

If I was just looking for something to play I would get it for 15 bucks if it entertained me.

Capcom and Square Enix have a sale going on this week. Hitman Absolution is 6 bucks and that game was very under rated

Re: Sony Palystation 4... The unaimous choice for games.

I'll buy it now & next month is gonnabe free in ps+ :hmm:

Anybody noticed when playing infamous second son , the fan comes on really loud , almost fat PS3 loud
Only happens with the infamous games

In so bored of this game. It isn't really different from the previous infamous games. Clearing out each district is repetitive also.

Guerrilla Games' PS4 title, codenamed Horizon, gets new art work

Fresh concept art on Guerrilla Games’ next PlayStation 4 project have surfaced on Chinese forum, A9VG (via GamePur).

Previously, the site posted a bunch of details on the new, as-yet unannounced IP, claiming it is currently going by the codename Horizon and takes place in a futuristic, science-fiction universe.

From the look of the concept art that leaked alongside the info burst, it appears that previous reports of a flame-haired, female protagonist were indeed on the money.

Have a butcher’s at the new art work below alongside the previously-released art, depicting a mechanized dinosaur-like adversary.

Not much else is known about the mysterious title so far, although it has been reported the game has been in development for over two-and-a-half years. Past rumors have also suggested microtransactions, a fall 2015 release date, and 'innovative' online gameplay.

We been hearing about this game for the last year. Ever since Guerrilla hire the lead writer from Fallout New Vegas. I hope it's not a first person or it does like Fallout and gives us the the option for first person or third person.

I don't expect to see anything from this until E3 2015

PS4 Sales Quadruple in UK Amid Destiny Launch Frenzy
Rush of marketing for Sony hardware bundle ignites interest.

Sony has recorded its most successful ever week of PlayStation 4 hardware sales in the UK, due to the craze of interest in Activision's Destiny.

Industry publication MCV claims that PS4 sales soared 300 percent week-on-week during the launch of Destiny. Final sales numbers were not disclosed, though it was claimed that Sony's next-gen console had doubled Xbox One sales during the seven-day period.

Destiny was advertised principally as a PS4 game in the UK, with Microsoft prohibited from advertising it for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Most TV spots and billboard adverts featured the Destiny PS4 hardware bundle.

Those restrictions on Microsoft led to its ad team publishing a spoof Destiny perfume advert, which was removed shortly after going live.

Sony executives have previously said that they are treating Destiny as though it were a first-party title.

However, week one sales of Destiny showed a 50/50 split across Sony and Microsoft's cross-gen platforms, with the Xbox 360 version selling way ahead of the PS3 version.

Worldwide, Activision estimates that Destiny sell-through grossed about $325 million within five days.

Sony Bend’s Unannounced PS4 Exclusive Isn’t Kill Strain, but “Something Great” According to Insider (UPDATED)

While it’s known that Sony Bend is working on a PS4 exclusive, Sony has been keeping all details closely under wraps. The descriptions provided in many career opportunity ads have made many think that they’re working on a new Syphon Filter, and some wondered if that could be linked to the recently registered Kill Strain trademark, but according to industry insider Shinobi602 who has proven to know quite a lot on what’s going on behind the scenes at several studios, that isn’t the case.
Shinobi mentioned that while he doesn’t know what Kill Strain is about, it’s not what Sony Bend is currently working on. He also added that we should keep an open mind on it, because they have “something great” in store.
Assuming that Shinobi’s information is correct, it’ll be very interesting to see what they’re working on, possibly at E3. While Syphon Filter would be an obvious choice for the studio considering its pedigree, there’s really no way to tell at the moment.
Of course, though, since Sony didn’t make any official announcement, we should still consider this just a rumor until that happens.
Update: Shinobi clarified after the article was posted that he meant that Sony Bend isn’t working on Kill Strain. So it’s still possible that they’re working on a new Syphon Filter, but their new title is not related to the Kill Strain Trademark. The article has been amended to reflect that.

PS4 Exclusive Without Memory’s New Screenshots Show Massively Improved Graphics, Protagonist’s Body

WithoutMemory-8-670x360.jpg

Russian developer Dinosaurum Games promised a while ago to post some actual screenshots of its upcoming PS4 exclusive Without Memory, and today they delivered via their blog and VK community.
And I don’t mean that they delivered just in a literal sense. They actually shown some massive visual improvement in the environments of the game since the latest sample. The screenshots are still work in progress, but they look really quite nice now.
In addition to the environment shots, we also get a glimpse on the work in progress model of the body of the protagonist Anna, which also looks really good and detailed.
You can check all the assets out below.

A totally petrifying Silent Hills TGS 2014 Trailer for PS4

This brand new Silent Hills defiantly made the attendees of TGS 2014 sweat in their seats, if you want to have the same experience watch the video.

About Silent Hills, the creator Hideo Kojima, himself said: "Honestly, I'm kind of a scaredy-cat when it comes to horror movies, so I'm not confident I can do it. At the same time, there's a certain type of horror that only people who are scared of can create, so maybe it's something I can do."

P.T. begins with an unknown protagonist waking up in a mysterious house which eventually becomes haunted. The first-person gameplay style is reminiscent of Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Outlast, and the demo showcases the realistic graphics of the Fox Engine

Silent Hills will release at some point in 2016 for PlayStation 4.

Take a look at this terrifying trailer below:

I don't know how I feel about this being an exclusive rumors are it's an exclusive for ps4 and I don't like that. Third party exclusives are a thing of the past and think of it as lazy. I do like the idea of these big companies Capcom and Konami taking a cue from the success of Telltale and doing episodic games.

People can clown the indie market but it is a demand and it is breeding success.

Props kadafi. Looks like there's a lot of heat coming out soon  I just want to hear something about a Fallout 4

Sounds like that's Kojima's move. He doesn't really seem to like making games for Microsoft...speaking of Kojima...more news about MGSV
:hellyea:

There was a streaming video done not too long ago and these bullet points were taken from that I guess.

  • Kojima can finally do the things he wanted to, now that the hardware has evolved
  • Snake has lost weight, they say
  • You can choose your own routes during the missions
  • Quiet can assist you during gameplay with the buddy system
  • You can choose where the helicopter sets you down
  • Riding your horse is hard in the jungle environment
  • Snake is ‘naked’, Miller tells him they are making a new suit at Mother Base
  • The new suit is delivered to Snake
  • You can climb walls with cracks
  • Snake is wearing a different arm prothesis in the demo
  • You’ll be able to use different protheses with different functions
  • There will be a lot of different protheses according to Kojima
  • You can set up a talking decoy. He says: ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’
  • Snake calls in Quiet and orders her to scout up ahead
  • Quiet can also provide cover fire
  • When she is in position, she hums
  • She marks enemies during reconnaissance
  • If you speed up the time too much, the POW target dies
  • By hovering the reticle, you can select Quiet’s target
  • Snake throws a grenade and orders Quiet to shoot it
  • Quiet has a weakness that will tie into the story
  • Quiet’s abilities depend on the degree of her bond with Snake
  • In the demo, the attacks commands were: shoot, target and wait for my signal, shoot this, and provide/cease cover fire
  • However, a lot has to happen for all these options to be available (bond degree)
  • If the bond isn’t high enough, Quiet won’t come with you
  • When Snake uses the ‘pin radar’, all the icons represent animals, but it reacts to people as well
  • You can analyze soldiers to see their statistics, like in Peace Walker
  • Another interrogation option is asking: ‘Where are your friends?’
  • Snake’s can stun enemies with his arm, it packs 1.2 million volts
  • According to Kojima, you may never meet Quiet. It depends on how you play through the game.

This might be that video.

Latest The Order: 1886 Dev Diary Focuses on the Weapons

In the most recent behind-the-scenes developer diary for The Order: 1886, titled Tools of the Trade, developer Ready at Dawn talks about the weapons featured in the game.

For a written look at the weapons Creative Director Ru Weerasuriya said, “We used weapons based on existing technology in the Victorian-Era, but also created others that stretched the realm of what was possible at the time.”

Weerasuriya continued:

Because our Industrial Revolution is a result of the war between Humans and Half-Breeds, many of the inventions of our timeline are primarily focused on ways to aid in this fight. Guns such as the Carbine, the Coach Gun or the Maschinenpistole are common occurrence in the game and represent the technology of the era. While others based on electricity such as the Arc Gun, or based on alternate ammunition such as the Aluminum Iron Oxide of the Thermite Rifle, provide a way for us to use real technologies and materials of the times, while building weapons that did not exist.

Whether real or invented, we always made sure that every weapon we designed followed specific guidelines regarding their assembly, their material use and their craftsmanship. They needed to feel grounded in the real world of the late 1800s. The end goal behind fusing all these weapons into the game was to provide diversity in combat and a fun-factor for the player by showcasing their advantages in different combat scenarios.

Some of these weapons were even purposely designed to feel somewhat dangerous not only to your target but to the user as well. We made sure they retained the feeling that they were still in their prototype stage and being field tested. This also reinforced something that was true of the era as often inventions and innovations would find themselves in use well before they were deemed safe to the public, very much unlike the stringent testing and safety regulations that are required today.

The Order: 1886 will be released for the PlayStation 4 on February 20, 2015.

this is one of the main reasons many didn't bat an eye when Sony sales with the PS4 in Japan were low in the beginning. Once Metal Gear or FF comes out it will be a wrap

Yup. It's not like Nintendo is competing.
