Police are searching for this man, who did not approve of a Wawa customer looking at his daughter and struck him in the face. The blow caused serious injuries.
Police are searching for an overprotective father who assaulted a man for looking at his daughter.

The Upper Darby Police Department in suburban Philadelphia has released a picture of the man and his daughter who were in a Wawa convenience store Sunday when police said the man did not approve of how another male was looking at his child.

The suspect, dressed in a red polo shirt, punched the man in the face, police said. He then left the store.

The victim suffered serious injuries from the assault, police said.

Police did not release any additional information regarding the victim or suspect.

This guy's not an overprotective father ... That's just his excuse for thumping the guy.
"If somebody's looking at your daughter, why don't you confront him instead of punching him?" Upper Darby police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told Philly.com. "This guy's not an overprotective father ... That's just his excuse for thumping the guy."

depends on How the ogling took place. Did the stranger walk up and just stare openly at her boobs? Did he get way too close while watching...there is too much missing from this story to make a judgement either way. I know there are circumstances where I'd be very protective of my child too.

so if your on the playground with your daughter and you see some perv and he looks like he's getting excited off of watching your kid, it wouldn't make Barry go postal? Not saying you'd knock his block off but, you might feel like it. For many...too many there is no pause between thinking an act and doing it.

I think we might be in the same school of thinking first before acting but, when it come to people and their children, it doesn't always happen.

I remember when my Daughter was 16, and we were going to a gas station. I sent my daughter in to buy me and her a pop aka coke and as she was walking to the door I seen a grown ass man around my age looking at my daughter as if she was a piece of meat. I mean he was looking Hard. he turned around and seen me looking at him.

I must of had a look as if I was going to kill him right there. he jumped in his car and got his ass out quick ass hell.
so I understand how this guy felt

Man listen. Young women today are build like they grown. A coworker of mine showed me a picture of his daughter going to prom. I had to look away she was so fine, out of respect. Nasty thoughts would have followed.

I get it and I understand, but ain't no way you have not noticed a youngin' before. I'm not saying Holla or sit there and fantasize, but let's be real.

this statement is very true.....

If she is 16 she can easily be mistaken for 18....

The bigger issue is that society is starting to make it a punishable thing to even look at a woman.....esp with these street harassment campaigns

This country was built on the foundation of raping black females no matter what their age is. How did David Koresh have so many people following him, and a lot of them were black.
