If the local scene was hot they wouldn't need a rick ross to headline or perform. By not letting him perform only hurts the fans. Jealous ass fools. And then them dudes all up on the radio trying sound like slick by saying they don't understand... fucking coward as locals. I don't blame RR he knows when it's time to step off and get his paper another way & day. Nobody gives a uck about dead ass rappers and I wouldn't want to join them either. Exactly. And that's how we are in Texas. I done been in Houston and I remember when Bun brought Lupe around the city and was showing him around. Bun and the older heads like Face Mob and Devin The Dude always do that. You'll see them around with younger artists from other cities.

What I don't understand is, if this no-fly zone bs has always existed, why didn't the promoter, who claims to have been planning the show for a year, deal with the RR paying a toll situation from jump.

The promoter could have gone to Trick Trick way in advance of the concert to iron shit out.

As far as I'm concerned this event should not have gone down in the way it did.

Exactly. The only people who got fucked were the fans and locals. I guarantee you Rick Ross still got paid for his non performance-performance. He arrived as scheduled. It is the promoters job to ensure the artist can enter the venue without a problem. At the end of the day Ross got paid, probably between 50-75k, and Trick Trick didn't get a dime. The fans didn't get to see the headliner, and a club that may have been more than welcoming to Ross to party, saw a decline in attendance. Again, Trick Trick is accomplishing nothing.

I remember chillin' with him and he was getting asked to take a lot of pictures and I asked him do you ever get annoyed with that and he was on some "You a fuck boy if you don't take pics with people who want to take them with you....". A lot of people don't live by that.

There is a LONG tradition of paying for 'protection' which is essentially how the mafia started...they preyed on (in there eyes protecting and provided a much needed service) their own because the existing police didn't give a damn and they had to essentially police themselves.

So I get that.

And I even understand a TAX to a certain degree to come form outside and making what little money is available to an outsider.
