Oklahoma City Thunder and the New York Knicks, two teams heading into different paths, could explore a blockbuster deal that would plug in the loopholes in their roster before the Feb 20 trade deadline.

According to Latino Post, the Thunder-Knicks deal will surely be the biggest trade this season, if both teams are going to be "bold" enough to pull it off.

The Thunder have been the beast of the West, holding the best record in the conference despite dealing with the extended absence of point guard Russell Westbrook and pressure from a handful contenders such as the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors.

Kevin Durant's inspired play this season is the top reason behind the Thunder's resurgence, while Reggie Jackson's improvement as a serviceable point guard also contributed to their recent success.

On the other hand, the Knicks are still fighting to make it in the postseason for the fourth straight time, but injuries to their key players and inconsistency have really made things tough for this underachieving ball club.

Carmelo Anthony remains a top-flight scorer, but the possibility of leaving the Big Apple as he become an unrestricted free-agent this coming summer becomes clearer for the Knickerbockers as days pass by.

How Now: Lakers Rumors: Dante Exum Says Lakers 'Best Option', Wants To Learn from Kobe Bryant:

Blockbuster Deal

Yahoo Sports NBA writer Del Pearson provided a very intriguing trade scenario the Thunder and the Knicks should consider. In the proposed deal, the Knicks will have a chance to address the loophole in their backcourt, particularly at the point. Meanwhile, the Thunder can solidify their defense by adding an athletic rim protector to replace flat-footed Kendrick Perkins.

"The Knicks' struggles can be easily fixed by addressing two main issues: an unhealthy frontcourt and inconsistent point-guard play. Both of these issues can be addressed in one fell swoop by acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder," Pearson stressed.

Pearson's Trade Proposal: Knicks receive Westbrook, Perkins and future second-round pick, while Thunder gets Tyson Chandler, Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton and the ability to swap future first-round picks.

Westbrook is without a doubt one of the best playmakers in the league. However, the vast improvement in Durant's game has apparently offset his absence, and the Thunder front office understands this for sure. Trading Westbrook would allow the small-market team to save more money and surround Durant with players who suit with the superstar's evolving game.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Westbrook in New York City will give Anthony a reason to stay put with the Knicks. The Anthony-Westbrook duo is certainly a good start to build a championship contender, and it's up to the ownership to provide the pieces that would make them a team to be reckoned with in future campaigns.

This was posted last week. I just don't see why OKC would make that deal. You don't trade superstars for role players.

HELL NAH you don't! The only people I would trade westbrook for is CP3 and a healthy Rondo but they would have to give a pick too

So let me get this straight. This ain't a real deal. Its something a Yahoo Sports Writer brought up? Thunder trade Westbrook for Tyson Chandler and Iman Shumpert. that shit is insane. You can get 1st rounders for him. Why would anyone trade with the damn Knicks? Writer must be a Knicks fan.

if true it's crazy for knicks. one of best bigs in league for broke knee guard. give up young players, a decent 1. but it would be just like knicks. Issiah, is that you?

Shrug ..a healthy Chandler is an upgrade to Perkins.

Shumpert has a lot of upside.

Felton is a good backup for Jackson

What type of relationship does Durant really have with Westbrook...Nobody thought the Lakers would trade Shaq either.

And also being able to swap 1st round picks with a potential lottery team..

Shrug.....again

there does not exist enough cocaine for that deal to happen

this is a hack writer creating some bullshit trade in his head

Well, Westbrook is going to force them to make a decision soon.
Can they afford him and Durant at the same time... Secondly, if
they are winning with another point guard, maybe the Thunder
should really pull the trade. The only thing is that Chandler is in
his 30s, and just as fragile as Westbrook is.

As a Knicks fan I dunno how i feel about this. Something really needs to change. Chandler has dropped off alot and is getting old. But is Westbrook(another star that demands the ball) the answer? Yeesh

The writer is obviously getting a kickback from the Knicks...payola like a muthafucka hoping to drum up interest in that crazy shit :lol::lol:

 I'd investigate that dude over this shit. Peter Vescey use to be notorious for this shit in his heyday. Always lying about potential deals the Knicks were doing that he heard about and not ONE ever came true.

Westbrook isn't fragile  He never missed a game in high school college or the pros until last year

Shaq pretty much forced the Lakers to make that trade. He made it a him or me scanerio. Westbrook may be a lot of things but he clearly loves playing with OKC and has not outwardly expressed any gripes with Durant. Those are two completely different scenarios man.

Hmmm...

A shoot first PG, who's had two major knee injuries, matched up with Carmelo FUCKIN Anthony in exchange for the Knicks ONLY defensive minded player... and their ONLY Big who can play 30 minutes or more every night...

Hmmm...

Yeah... Let's do it... That way our starting center would be... Andrea Bargnani...

FOH!!!!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

presti would have to be fired

and then shot

if he traded westbrook for ANYBODY on that knicks roster not named carmelo.

sorry knick fans but none of those players is worth westbrook.

ill keep mentioning it until it gets legs

the trade is perkins/lamb/1st round pick for pau gasol

Funny shit is melo makes since for OKC playing with Durant

Russel in ny it would be his team lol

thats an insult to Westbrook.......trading him away for role players and a "2nd round pick"?
seriously........?? whoever wrote this bullshit needs to gtfoh!
