Just saw Blackfish documentary on Netflix about Killer Whales

Man, I've never been to Seaworld, but now I'm definitely crossing it off the list. It's some fucked shit what they do to those Orca whales. Capturing them, taking them from their family, and keeping them in storage containers so small they can barely move. I know people will say what's so different from other animals, but I didn't know how intelligent and family orientated they were. They had one scene where the Orcas knew the captures were coming, so they somehow came up with a plan to break off into two separate pods to lure them away from the young whales. It actually worked, but the captures were using a plane overheard and were able spot the young and capture them.

I saw the film in the fall and went to sea world over thanksgiving. Tillikum is not in the main show he only does a breakfast with Shamu feature in the morning...totally isolated. People sit around eating pancakes while he swims in a pool hoping one comes near, he has lots of deep scars on his body. After seeing film watching him in bondage made me nauseous. Orcas like slaves are economic lifeblood of an industry, they're not going anywhere soon.... Very sad
