.. and I'll reference that shit 1000 more times too... :smh:

I mean... how do you pass over a guy that you've actually seen play... IN MSG for someone you've NEVER seen play... :smh:

... and then... we get rid of him... hire Scott Layden... And he does the EXACT SAME THING... :smh:

STAT is tearing through the pre draft workouts but Scott Layden is in Europe scouting Maciej Lampe... :hmm:

A reporter asks him about Stoudemire and Layden goes,'WHO??? I've NEVER HEARD OF HIM.':hmm:

... but the media turned a blind eye at these cocksuckas and want to talk shit about Zeke... :smh:

Those faggits Micheal Kay and Don Lagrecca love to harp on that Isiah Thomas and Marbury bullshit like its what set the snicks back but won't dare mention Layden and Weiss

damn nate hasn't been signed yet?

Don't nobody want to fuck with Nate :smh: He still has that stigma of being un-coachable.

So far, he's only been tied to the Knicks. The Knicks want another PG, and Nate wanted to come back to NYK, but the Knicks don't want Nate. They're looking for more of a true point to come off the bench, and Nate's basically a 2 guard in a point's body.

The Mavs and the Raptors are rumored to be interested. But he might as well stay on the Bulls and be our 2 off the bench because he'll still get used since we run Hinrich and Nate together anyway.

ya I can see cats not paying him big $$$ bcuz of this...just surprised he's not on a team yet tho...he's a good extra "piece" to have it's just a matter of fitting him in

Re: ~*~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Amnesty period & contact signings 7/10~*~

He didn't want to go to OKC or the Heat to play behind Lebron or Durant, but gave the Nets a discount to play behind Johnson. I think he said that would be a career killer move. I thought this deal would've came last year tho...

His deal is said to be at the $25 mil range for 3 years. :smh: at him having to settle for that when he could've had $36 mil

I've always wondered how certain players get the green light to be checkers while others don't

I'll argue with you to my death there is a large number of NBA players can get you 20 points if allowed to shoot the ball 20 times

How is it decided who gets to do it?

Cuz everyone who does it is not efficient at doing it such as Monta

Re: ~*~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Amnesty period & contact signings 7/10~*~

Nate's no worse than J.R., they both nutty.

You gotta take the good with the bad.

Sometimes he's brick city, then it's some nights when he just can't miss, even if he tried. And when the muthafucka HOT, your squad feast off that shit.

He's still undersized, but what he lacks in height, he makes up for in heart and it's fucked that he hasn't been picked up yet.

I want him to come back to the Bulls, but I wouldn't have been mad to see him get his paper or another chance to shine.

I asked Kenny Smith that at his basketball camp years ago...

...and he said, 'What happens is, you start to become the focal point of teams defensive strategy, and only a small number of dudes can go out get you 20 a night when the teams best defender is guarding them, and a team is mindful of every move they make'

Makes sense to me.

I mean, you got a cat like Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, who could shoot the fucking lights out, and was quick as hell, who NEVER averaged 20. Does that even sound right?

Nate is WAY more clutch than JR... AND... Nate has a better basketball IQ than JR...

JR has better size, of course and that makes him a better defender than Nate...

BUT... I'll take Nate over JR... EVERYDAY... ALL DAY...

Somebody better call him soon, before Pat and Mickey decide to ship Cole World...

It would be a downgraded when it comes to defense but he's an offensive force, and game changer.
His offensive skills would fit in well with Miami's second unit. The offense wont look sluggish once Lebron take a rest.

Yea true, but I'm a huge Nate Rob fan. I just feel what Nate brings is what Miami is molding Cole World to become, an energy guy off the bench at point. Cole can actually be more than a energy guy. That's just my take. Cole world is good and management feels the same way also. They planning to ride this ship for a while...luxury tax wtf ever!!!!!

Pat Riley: Heat are not running from NBA luxury tax

201305272240816112434-p2.jpg

MIAMI—

* Miami Heat President Pat Riley insisted Friday that his team is not running from the NBA's luxury tax.

* Because of that, he stressed that his team also is not running from the contracts of forward Mike Miller and center Joel Anthony, even with the Heat facing a $33 million luxury-tax payment next June to the NBA based on the composition of the team's current roster and salary scale.

** "I want to try to keep this team intact as long as we can, because we have a championship basketball team here," he said. "I would hate to break any part of it up, that is productive and leads to winning."

* Speaking by phone from his office at AmericanAirlines Arena, Riley would not categorically say his team would bypass an amnesty release of Miller or Anthony to save against the NBA increasingly onerous luxury tax, but he reiterated his position is to move forward with the roster as currently constituted.

* "Right now, we're not using amnesty, no," he said, but qualifying it by adding, "as of today."

** While Riley stressed that owner Micky Arison is not simply going to cast aside needed talent to reduce his labor costs, he said the fiscal decisions ultimately rest with Arison.

** "He has proven," Riley said, "that he's willing to step up to the plate."

* *Based on the more-punitive luxury tax that kicks in this coming season, as well as the Heat's position above the salary cap, Miller's $6.2 million 2013-14 contract would trigger a $17 million tax payment this coming season, while Anthony's $3.8 million 2013-14 salary could trigger a tax of nearly $10 million. The tax liability on either one would be sharply reduced if the other was not on next season's final roster.

* Riley comments came in the midst of the NBA's annual one-week "amnesty" period, when eligible teams can release eligible players and not have the salary of that player count against the salary cap or luxury tax, while still paying off the released player. Such moves were made this week with the Los Angeles Lakers' Metta World Peace and the Charlotte Bobcats' Tyrus Thomas.

* For the Heat, only six players are eligible for an amnesty release, with a requirement that they had to have been under contract prior to the end of the 2011 NBA lockout. For the Heat, the six eligible players are LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, Miller and Anthony, with Miller and Anthony the primary amnesty focus because of their lack of playing time in recent seasons.

** "We understand the economic-slash-basketball ramifications of where we are in the game today," Riley said. "We really understand that and we're very, I think, diligent when it comes to the economic-slash-basketball decisions that you have to make."

* Teams may utilize an amnesty release only once under the current collective-bargaining agreement, although the Heat could defer such a decision to next season or beyond.

* The Heat's willingness to spend deep into the tax came under increased focus with the Brooklyn Nets pushing their 2013-14 luxury-tax bill beyond $80 million with the offseason additions of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Andrei Kirilenko and Shaun Livingston.

* Riley said Friday the Heat's approach would not be swayed by the Nets' approach, stressing that Brooklyn is working within the rules established by the league.

** "What one other team does, I think it doesn't have any bearing on what we're thinking about," he said. "We're a three-time finalist. We won back-to-back championships. We've got our entire core back, signed, opted-in, and we're tickled to death with that."

** Riley, in fact, said even with the onerous luxury tax that the Heat had attempted to spend their $3.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception during free agency, but the overtures to youthful perimeter players that he declined to mention were exceeded by more lucrative bids elsewhere.

** "We weren't successful and we're going to save it, and we will use it if we have to use it, if the right player pops up," he said. "I'm not sure that who's available out there are people that we would offer it to now."

** Riley said the Heat remain interested in free-agent center Greg Oden, who is expected to defer his decision until next month as he works his way back from career-long knee issues.

** "We do have interest in him and we will track him," he said.

* *Riley said the Heat were not in contact with center Andrew Bynum, who ultimately took a free-agent deal from the Cleveland Cavaliers larger than the Heat could have offered.

** As for spending more on coach Erik Spoelstra, whose contract is approaching its end, Riley said, "He's one of the family here and as soon as that is broached, I'm sure it will be broached* in a very positive manner."

** Under the new formula that goes into effect starting this coming season, the Heat, by currently standing $16 million over the $71,748,000 luxury-tax threshold set Tuesday by the NBA, would have to write a tax check to the league of $33.6 million at season's end.

* To put that 2013-14 tax figure into perspective, the Heat, over their history, according to the highly respected computations of ShamSports.com, have previously paid a total of $36 million in tax payments, including $13.3 million on last season's championship roster.

** According to the NBA's new tax schedule, the tax is $1.5 dollar for each dollar on the first $5 million above the tax threshold, with a $1.75 rate on the next $5 million above, a $2.5 rate for the next $5 million, and $3.25 per dollar for exceeding the tax rate by $15 million, where the Heat currently stand.

** Because the tax bill is not computed until season's end, the Heat, through trades and other means, could reduce their tax bill in the interim.

** Under the Heat's current, pre-amnesty tax position, the addition of a player at the $3.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception that they still retain would come accompanied with a $10 million tax charge for 2013-14.

Nuggets show interest in Nate Robinson

he Denver Nuggets have expressed "certifiable interest in trying to sign" free
agent guard Nate Robinson, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported Saturday. It's
unclear what sort of terms the two sides might be discussing, but a multi-year deal wouldn't be surprising.

A journeyman of sorts over the past few seasons, Robinson spent 2012-13 in a unexpectedly large role with the Chicago Bulls. Powering the team's offense during a
run to the second round of the postseason, he provided huge value to Chicago on a one-year, minimum-salary deal.

76ers acquire Royce White

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired the rights to Royce White and Furkan Aldemir from the Houston Rockets for future draft considerations.

The Sixers announced the deal on Saturday.

White was a first-round pick (16th overall) last summer and never played for the Rockets. The 6-foot-8 White was on the inactive list as he worked on an arrangement with the team to balance his acknowledged anxiety disorder with the demands of the NBA schedule.

White was vocal on Twitter throughout the saga, often criticizing the team. The Rockets suspended White on Jan. 6 after he refused to accept an assignment to Rio Grande Valley in the NBDL.

Aldemir was the 53rd overall pick by the L.A. Clippers in the 2012 NBA draft. His rights were traded to Houston that night as part of a four-team deal that also involved Dallas and Utah.

Worst and Dumbest Front Office Award: Philadelphia 76ers

Trades (ALL STAR, TEAM USA MEMBER) Andre Iguodala for Andrew Bynum (0 minutes in 2013, now member of Cleveland Cavaliers)

Trades (23 year old ALL STAR) Jrue Holiday for Nerlens Noel (Torn ACL, return date not known)

Trades for Royce White (Distraction and major headache player who refuses to fly and join his team)and gives the Houston Rockets future top 10 draft picks.....

They have a LONG history of doing DUMB shit... :smh:

I was in mad bitch mode after the moves on draft day but now that I have had some time to think, shit doesn't bother me as much...

1. We weren't going ANYWHERE with Jrue or Iggy! As much as I loved Jrue's game, he was not the kind of player to build a team around. And all that 'All Star' stuff, while a good story last year, was he 'REALLY' an All-Star Caliber player? If Rondo and Rose weren't hurt would he have been given serious consideration? Not like we traded away CP3...

2. It's easy to be front office geniuses after the fact. Any team with a chance to get Bynum last preseason would have jumped at that deal. Didn't work out for us but like I said, after the fact I told you so's don't mean shit... Dude swung and missed, shit happens. And the trade for Royce White was NOT for a possible future Top 10 pick,, but 'draft considerations' which will more than likely be a second round pick...

3. Every team at some point has to go through a rebuilding type mode... Nets were 12-70 a few years ago, look at them now. Spurs sat DRobinson while tanking for Duncan, etc.

4. Hinkie is building HIS own team... I know everyone is sweating 2015 but next off season, we will have damn near the most cap room, potentially 3 first round picks in the deepest draft in 10 years, and a decent core of young players to watch develop, while having the money to spend on bigger named free agents. Turner will definitely not be here by seasons end and possibly Thad, Hawes contract is expiring so that is trade bait..

Like I said, we were going to be SHIT anyway, so might as well go into full rebuild mode and have a plan, which I believe Dude does...

What happened in the 80s doesn't matter at this point Van... it's 2013 now and none of those execs are still around Dude...

Will we suck this year? Most definitely! Would we have sucked if we kept Jrue? Most definitely....

Plans take time... and I for one am patient! Won't be at too many games this year though..

It is what it is.. :D
